Xbox's Avowed Gets Permanent Price Drop To Coincide With Upcoming PS5 Release

Avowed arrived on Xbox and PC almost a year ago now, and to coincide with last week's announcement of a PS5 release, Microsoft has dropped the price of the base game on all platforms — with a plan to launch at the same price on the Sony system next month.

Yep, head over to the Microsoft Store or Steam and you can now grab Avowed for £40 / $50. This is down from the game's initial price of £70 / $70 in February 2025, so this is a pretty substantial drop for less than a year since release.

What's more, the game's PS5 release drops alongside a pretty substantial anniversary update; containing a New Game+, Photo mode, a new weapon type, new races and more besides. It sounds like you'll be getting quite a lot of Obsidian RPG goodness for $50, then.

Of course, Avowed is also available on Xbox Game Pass; where we'd wager most of you accessed and played the game on Series X|S and/or PC. Still, if you'd like to grab this one for keeps — maybe in the wake of Xbox's recent Game Pass price hikes — now might be the time to do it.
