Re: Digital Foundry Speculates Whether There'll Be An Xbox Series S Successor Next-Gen

Sindayl

So Doomsomething, first of all, going through my whole post history just to find something that fits your troll narrative is pretty awkward. And since I had to scroll through my long list of old posts to find what I actually said, it makes it even more awkward haha.

Anyway, next time (well, no), try reading the whole topic. I said that in response to this: « Latest sales estimates suggest Xbox sold over two million Series X|S consoles in 2025 » and I commented: « This is ridiculously bad for such a huge company. » And I still stand by that.

Since its release, the Series S hasn’t sold badly. In fact, I personally know more people in real life who have an S than an X.

(I don’t know why I’m even wasting time replying to a troll but it’s somewhat funny, to be honest haha.)

Re: Xbox Boss Questioned On Whether Exclusives Could Return In The Future

Sindayl

Exclusives is what attract people on any service. So if they still want Xbox to be part of the Microsoft gaming ecosystem, they will have to have some major exclusives (not everything has to be). If they don’t care about Xbox systems and the 30% they get on the Xbox store from third party sales, they don’t need exclusives.

Re: Roundup: Here's What The Reviews Are Saying About Carmageddon: Rogue Shift

Sindayl

Like it or not, Carmageddon is defined by one core thing: running people over to gain time and finish the race.

Take that away and you’re left with a pretty generic rogue/racing game that just happens to wear the Carmageddon license like a cheap sticker.

It’s the same as releasing a new Bloody Roar without beast transformations, a new Mortal Kombat without gore or a new Burnout without crashes.
These games are known and remembered for very specific features that define their identity. Remove them and you remove the soul.

I might pick it up in a couple of years when it’s down to five bucks. Until then… hard pass.

Re: Carmageddon: Rogue Shift Is Bringing Its 'Brutal Roguelite' To Xbox Next Week

Sindayl

But where are the pedestrians? Carmageddon without pedestrians to run over isn’t really Carmageddon! That’s the whole point of the franchise… It’s like Mortal Kombat without blood and fatalities… Crushing zombies just sucks.

Btw 34BigThings never bothered to fix their last broken Redout 2 update on Xbox. They kept ignoring players asking for a fix, so I’m a bit scared with this one… I’ll buy it anyway because I’m a huge fan of the franchise.

Re: Two Games Have Quietly Been Cancelled For Xbox Over The Past Week

Sindayl

@Retrokingdan Yeah and it still blows my mind that rom based emulated ports are considered so costly and time consuming that devs skip an entire platform. It’s the smallest market for sure but it’s not like Xbox S|X sold only ten consoles.

Anyway, this is just another lazy emulation/port running in SD, without any enhancements whatsoever just like Tomba, Fear Effect or Metal Gear Solid 1.

Meanwhile, even on Xbox in Dev Mode, you can run all of these PS1 games in HD, with forced widescreen and texture filtering… (assuming you own the original game, of course )

Re: Fable Likely To Be A Huge Hit On PS5 As Sony-Hosted Trailer Hits 1 Million Views

Sindayl

@Naughtyottsel92 But? When did they say it, though? Haha. Apart from Hellblade and Tell Me Why (which was mostly well received by LGBTQ+ players), I can’t think of a cinematic Xbox exclusives. 🤔

@Fishmasterflex96 I don’t really get your point, I literally agreed with you regarding Xbox doing stupid things since the release of the SX haha (regarding third party locks, Sony has historically always been much more aggressive than Nintendo and Microsoft or even Sega, it’s a well-known documented fact and it always worked for them).

Re: Fable Likely To Be A Huge Hit On PS5 As Sony-Hosted Trailer Hits 1 Million Views

Sindayl

@Fishmasterflex96 Oh yeah, I misread your comment. Yes, the Series X lineup was a joke but third party exclusivity deals and locks on Sony’s side didn’t help either. I’m the first to say that Microsoft has been making terrible decisions one after another since the release of the Xbox Series consoles but Xbox has been a great brand during almost 20 years. Sadly, it’s obviously over now, thanks to a terrible management team (that is almost completely different from the one that ran the brand in the beginning).
