I won’t even vote, honestly.
Most of them are just… okay. Not bad, not great. And since they’re not even exclusive, first party or not, it doesn’t really FEEL like Xbox owned games anymore.

Unless… the new Xbox identity is just being an ok but unremarkable game now.

The next Xbox which will probably sell even less than the Xbox Series in 2025? Well… good news, I guess… but I wouldn’t be surprised if they skip Xbox again in five years because of poor sales… most Xbox fans will have moved on to other platforms by then anyway… sigh

Screw them, seriously! They STILL feel the need to lock stuff like that, even though it’s crystal clear Xbox is never getting back to 360 era success, to the point where they’re releasing their own first party games on PS5?
And that whole fake wholesome « the console war is over » line from Microsoft? Yeah, absolutely not.

And still some people hope to see first party ps games on Xbox… well… good luck with that.

The mass obsession with Expedition 33 is insane… people are acting like it’s the greatest game ever made in the history of humanity. It’s getting ridiculous. I can somewhat understand those devs.

@rhyno_888 Given the disastrous sales of Xbox hardware lately and how many people have been abandoning the platform, why would they bother at all? Perhaps Switch 2 ports would make more sense.

I seriously hate this. Sony could not have dreamed of a bigger trophy, parading it proudly while holding Xbox’s head high after a decade of third-party locks…

As a 4K Blu-ray collector, I’d clearly prefer to see Paramount acquire Warner Bros rather than Netflix. Netflix has never really been a fan of physical releases to say the least… and the same concern applies to theatrical releases as well.

Yeah, sure… « drop it on all consoles » because us Xbox fans begging for it for years wasn’t enough… And the same people still refuse to admit that Banjo Kazooie games have been remastered (now in 4k) on Xbox for ages.

Mmm that’s a bit disappointing. Star Wars Outlaws looks so close to the Series S on the Switch 2 that I was expecting the same for Ass Creed Shadows. I guess I’ll skip the portable version and go with the Xbox one instead.

It’s gonna be Metroid Prime 4 for me too. That list of « Xbox » releases though… It doesn’t even make me twitch my lashes 😐

The input lag is still ridiculous. I’ve got high speed fiber and I still can’t play an FPS, fighting game or platformer properly because of the latency. It’s straight-up not reactive enough for a huge number of players (some people seem to be okay with it though… probably those already used to high input lag tv I guess).

If this is what Microsoft is trying to sell as their next main Xbox experience… good luck with that…

The Xbox 360 represents everything Nadella despises about gaming. I’m not even surprised by this total disinterest. They’ll probably be more excited about the first anniversary of Halo… on PS5… and its financial gains…

I miss game chat so much. It was so fun to meet random people. Now it’s all quite and boring… even games like Elder Scrolls Online would feel more alive if ppl were talking in proximity chat for some rp.

@Lrapsody Classic franchises aren’t being « destroyed » by diversity. They’re being wrecked by brutal deadlines, constant reboots, bad engines, chaotic management and yes, sometimes that annoying TikTok or influencer style writing that doesn’t fit a fantasy setting. But that’s a tone issue not a queer issue.

Mass Effect already had gay romances and nobody screamed because… it was optional and invisible to most players. It’s like « I’m okay with gays as long as it’s not visible » which is ridiculous. Now that representation is actually visible, suddenly it’s « forced » and « cringe » ? Please.

And what about the vocal minority getting furious about having to play what they call « woke garbage featuring a forced female main character, and an ugly one at that! » in Star Wars Outlaws? This is getting absurd.

Veilguard, Andromeda or Battlefield 2042 didn’t flop because of LGBTQ characters. They flopped because of bugs, mismanagement and inconsistent creative direction. This idea that « activists posing as gamers » killed the industry is just a convenient distraction from the real problems. And no, backlash didn’t destroy studios but years of terrible leadership did, which is exactly why Saudi and Chinese investors are swooping in now.

Diversity never bankrupted a studio. Bad decisions not related to the allegedly « woke agenda » did.

The overwhelming majority of games still put you in the shoes of alpha males or strong male caricatures. And LGBTQ+ people and non-sexualized women exist in huge numbers in the real world, they’re not some rare collectible.

Honestly, if seeing anyone outside the tiny box you approve of in big games bothers you that much, just pick another game. There are plenty that fit your vibe 💋

Screw them, it’s too late anyway and the usual « everywhere but Xbox » damage is already done (even if we had the bc version). We’re always treated like the fifth wheel.

Xbox has completely ruined everything with their latest decisions. I’ve been a loyal Xbox player for decades but enough is enough. I didn’t renew my Game Pass subscription and I’m only keeping my Xbox for my existing library. I buy new games on the Switch 2 now.

That generation was a fiasco for Xbox so this is a pretty salty anniversary. Like pretending to be happy before the funerals. Plenty of Xbox players are leaving the ship after the latest stupid decisions made by Nadella and his friends. No doubt they will get even richer with Xbox becoming mostly a publisher with a niche hybrid system to keep the last survivors entertained.

I just hope my Series X lasts forever, because I have a ton of games in my library that won’t follow me to whatever next gen system comes next in my living room.

And next year, the end of New World Aeternum, already…

The Mass Effect trilogy is probably one of the most memorable franchise of the 360 era.

@TrollOfWar most of Sony’s gaming income comes from third party games sold on their store, so giving console players the option not to be forced into buying a PS anymore or even worse, watching PlayStation gamers switch to a more open console that lets them play more games (including PS exclusives) than on a PlayStation, would be really bad for them.

Anyway, the Xbox brand is so screwed right now and the PlayStation brand is seen as the cool one to such an extent that Sony knows the chances of them losing their monopoly at this point are thinner than thin… Whatever Xbox does.

Console war is over, my butt. The only one saying that is Microsoft, just to shove the fact that their first-party games are going to PS5 down Xbox fans’ throats. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony pulled another shady move like saying, « This platform is not compatible with the PlayStation PC launcher.» when trying to install it on a future Xbox device.

@Fiendish-Beaver if you watch blu-rays HD and 4k on Xbox Series X, depending on your TV set, upgrading to a dedicated reader is worth it. On my OLED I couldn’t stand the macroblocks, banding, color conversion and the broken 24p mode on 4k discs with the Blu-ray app on SX.

It’s now much better with a Sony Blu-ray 4k player.

It’s obvious that Nadella and his dear shareholders friends always wanted to ditch the Xbox anyway. Phil Spencer used to be the Xbox guy but now Nadella is slowly taking his place in the public eye. I really don’t like him or his vision.

And if their next « Xbox » doesn’t support physical Xbox games AND the ability to play Steam games without having to switch between the Xbox UI and Windows PC mode, I’m 100% out.

Ofc other consoles aren’t their competitors anymore… since they’ve basically capitulated and now need sales on other systems as they transition into becoming a third-party publisher.

@Romans12 You’re actually not that much in the minority. Quite a lot of Xbox fans are turning their backs on Microsoft right now for the exact same reasons you mentioned. It’s pretty obvious on many forums and social networks.

Like others said, they can plaster that dumb slogan everywhere all they want, it’s not gonna make it true. Only THE Xbox is an Xbox. Period. The rest is just clunky streaming with input lag nonsense or a Windows PC with an Xbox button slapped on it with no way to play the vast majority of Xbox games, including physical discs. Absolutely ridiculous.
