Re: Reporter Claims Game Pass Is 'Absolutely Detested' By Some Xbox Studio Leaders

The alternative would be something like PS Premium!! No Thank You it's just not worth the money, they give mostly just old tired games you would have bought long ago if you thought they were worth playing and nothing else worth talking about, to top it off if you stop subscribing it's goodbye cloud saves as well!! They charge for Cloud saves!!!.

The Free stuff you get on PC is better than Sony's subscriptions, if it ever ended up in a situation like that I would go completely over to PC.

@themightyant "With Game Pass Xbox has already moved most users away from physical games"

Intresting, so with Sony only realising one AAA First Party current gen exclusive a year for years now (though they are managing 2 this year) , I think it's safe to also say With PS Premium PlayStation has already moved most users away from physical games.

It's clearly one or the other, either it's subscriptions that have moved people away from both consoles or the younger generation just don't care about boxed games in the digital age.

@fatpunkslim Could Sony's recent PS Plus increase be part of their latest price rise? " Sony's CFO," we intend to minimize the impact of the increased memory costs on this segment going forward by prioritizing monetization of the installed base to date. "

Feb, 2026.
"Given present-day circumstances, even the largest players are very likely paying more for in demand components (memory and storage). During the recent call, Tao(CFO) outlined a plan for offsetting some of these elevated costs: "given the stage of our console cycle, our hardware sales strategy can be adjusted flexibly, and we intend to minimize the impact of the increased memory costs on this segment going forward by prioritizing monetization of the installed base to date and striving to further expand our software and network services revenue."

@RareXbK "Asha, she has background in AI and just recently hired some more of her ai bros"
Really! That's a coincidence.
Sony dropped PC from its Sec filings, with the PC strategy removed Sony has introduced a brand-new section outlining its extensive AI aspirations:Game Development: Sony is using AI-powered tools (like its internal "Mockingbird" tool) to automate tedious, technical groundwork—such as turning performance capture data into facial animations in a fraction of a second.Store & Backend: Sony is leaning on AI to personalize game recommendations on the PlayStation Store and route transactions more efficiently.Visual Fidelity: The company is investing in machine learning and AI to boost visual fidelity and enhance the overarching PlayStation experience.

Not sure why some people think Sony gaming is not completely involved in AI.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner Xbox 3rd party discount is at All times including many new titles plus you also get the PC version included on a lot of them.
I just looked at the price of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice on the PS Store it's £60! The exact same edition on Xbox is £7.25, Pragmata etc the price difference is much lower.

I'm fairly sure everyone knew Microsoft giving a year of Ultimate for about the price of an indie game would one day come to an end.
Was there a huge drop when Sony blocked Turkey etc from PS Plus prices?

I see Ultimate Gamepass 3rd party for £140 a year, that's only £20 more than PS Premium!, I think I know which one is still 10 times better value.
Gamepass Ultimate.. Just some of the games I know coming this year.
Forza Horizon 6, Halo, Beast of Reincarnation, Gears of war E Day, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Dune: Awakening Amartus etc. PC versions also included.

For £20 less.
PS Premium.
some oldie games.

Re: Xbox CSO Shuts Down Rumour About Exclusives, Insists They'll Happen Every Year

The ones who come here to Boo Hoo over Xbox exclusives not going to Sony's AAA starved game console should look closer to home, I expect the new Xbox team looked very carefully at what the Sony fanboys were up to lately and I'm sure their Number 1 comment of concern was the. "What's the point in buying an Xbox if all the games are PlayStation"
Well that problem is now fixed so well done to the new Xbox team.

Re: 'We Have To Turn This Into A Sustainable Business' - Microsoft CEO Discusses Future Of Xbox

@BoredOfEverything So if they didn't engage on Gamepass they obviously didn't rate the game highly, difference is it will have far more people who play it over time it dosen't have to be played day one and it won't leave Gamepass, in fact it won't be long before The Outer Worlds 2 goes to Gamepass Premium so a whole new audience.

Each year since 2020, Sony has sold millions of 'Fewer' copies of the games it has developed and/or published for its PlayStation consoles with a small uptick with release of Yotei.
Why not blame that on PS Premium giving people other options rather than paying full price just for one game.

Re: 'This Is The Start Of A Program' - Xbox Exec Addresses Questions Around Exclusivity

Schonks

@RiverGenie It leaves Sony fanboys saying "what is the point of Xbox if you can get the games on PlayStation".well that one has now gone out of the window which needed to happen when they have a new Xbox on the way.

Ask Sony owners what exclusivity offers the PS5, as they were very happy when just 'Old' PS5 exclusives were no longer even going to PC.

Sony has hardly First Party AAA exclusive games especially new IPs for next year(and beyond) and Helix is getting closer.
It's going to take Sony years to recover (Development wise) from their Concord etc disaster, Sony cancelled multiple in-development live-service titles across major PlayStation developers.
