Battlefield 6 Is Free For Everyone This Week, Starting Today 1

The team at BF Studios has announced Battlefield 6 is free to try on all platforms, starting today and running through until August 25th. The free trial period just so happens to coincide with a particular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta, and It's not the first time something like this has happened.

The Call of Duty series has deployed this tactic for quite some time, hosting similar limited-time free trials alongside seasonal updates to keep people on the game. Battlefield followed suit, and now the two FPS giants seem to pull this stunt on the regular.

Speaking of stunts, Battlefield 6's free-to-play window is to celebrate Season 4's Top Gun-themed update, bringing the iconic aerial dog fights of the films to the immersive sandbox shooter. Both of BF6's new maps will be included in the trial, as will the limited time Carrier Strike game mode.

Of course, REDSEC is already free-to-play, but if you've been eager to check out the new Wake Island and Tsuru Reef multiplayer maps, now's your chance to give 'em a whirl.

Simply download Battlefield: REDSEC on your preferred platform (PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X | S), grab your wingman, jump into the cockpit, and experience the adrenaline rush of Top Gun. Battlefield 6 owners can intercept Free Trial participants in those playlists as well, so get into formation with your Free Trial friends or prepare to bring those bandits down.

As for the highly-anticipated Modern Warfare 4 Beta, well that kicks off on Friday, bringing six multiplayer maps, nine modes, and, for the first time ever, a campaign mission to the Beta too.
