@KPS Massive goalpost shift??? My original comment spoke of all generations of PlayStation. You decided to jump in and make it about the fifth year of PS4 vs the fifth year of PS5.

@KPS You're using a faulty metric that suits your argument. You mention PS5's fifth year as if it's some kind of saviour for the previous 4.

You've proven my point that Sony have been poor throughout this entire generation.

I have played my PS3 as my main PlayStation this entire generation because the quality and quantity of games is far higher.

@DennisReynolds The first party output for PS5 has been poor from Sony compared to every other PlayStation generation.

I adore the look of this game but the name has always bothered me for some reason. Just so forgettable.

The Xbox One X is such a beautiful piece of hardware.

It's also crazy to think how different the industry would probably be if the Don Mattrick version of events never happened and the Xbox One era began with Phil's strategy.

I've always seen it as a nice bonus if the head of a gaming company is a gamer. Not a prerequisite. I'd rather they know how to run a business than beat my high scores.

I think the late Satoru Iwata was the person that everyone (unfairly) gets compared to. If they're not as passionate about playing games as he was then their ability to be a CEO falls by the wayside. Ridiculous.

The best console UI ever in my opinion is the PS3/PSP XMB layout. A modern version of that would be perfect for me.

I've been playing my PS3 so much this generation compared to my PS5 and I had forgotten what a joy it is to use and play. Loading times aside.

@somnambulance You can easily search. Do you think people at Nintendo played through every game and gave an opinion on whether it was good and gave it a Seal of Quality? The Seal of Quality was a fantastic marketing tool that said "this game will work on our system". They had stringent rules over who could develop for their platforms and they made sure they actually worked. Something Atari didn't care about.

@somnambulance The Nintendo Seal of Quality was never about the quality of the game. It was purely to state that a game would function as intended on the system. Atari had basically allowed anyone to make games for the 2600 and there was a huge amount of non-functioning crap that make consumers wary about buying anything.

I played this a little bit after it launched and enjoyed it. I'll definitely return at some point and it's good to see the devs giving it some love.

I'm still really annoyed with myself for selling my white Xbox One X to buy a black Xbox One X. 😥

Atomfall seemed to be really well received but then completely disappeared off the radar. Nobody seems to talk about it at all now.

Fantastic news but way overdue. It's really user friendly and being able to manage my wishlist properly is a life saver.

More good Xbox news for me this week after finally getting the RDR upgrade.

Backwards compatibility across more than one generation is something that's difficult to achieve but I'm happy with Microsoft's efforts.

Although native disc and digital compatibility on the next Xbox would be my ideal.

@Kaloudz It's exactly my type of game too. I would guess that the publisher made some kind of long term deal for its games to be on Game Pass.

I will definitely be buying this and probably this weekend.

It's such a shame that games like this will never have a chance of winning a game of the year award just because their genre isn't fashionable nowadays.

If this had released during the Mega Drive's heyday, it would rightly be regarded as one of the system's best games.

@RiverGenie I love Atomfall. Such a great game.

I would love to see a company tackle a proper modular console. Like upgrading a PC but as easy as swapping the HDD was on an Xbox 360.

It would take the work of a forward thinking engineering genius, but would be amazing to see.

@Nexozi Personally, I don't think there will be a PS7. Bespoke hardware will be completely unnecessary in, let's say, 2038. Both Sony and Microsoft could do without the massive headache and cost or R&D, manufacturing, shipping, marketing etc. They would both save billions that could be focussed towards games and content.

I've said for many years that ultimately, Xbox will outsource all hardware. I think I also mentioned Asus several times on Push Square but nobody believed me.

@Questionable_Duck There are quite a few Jaguar games in the Atari 50 collection. I'm guessing that's why the Jaguar version is in this with it being published by Atari.

The Atari Jaguar version was actually a really good game.

Despite the fact they're on Game Pass I bought them immediately. I played the N64 version of Hexen years ago and loved it.
