Isn't it great to be talking about good news for Xbox Series X|S sales again?!
Yep, it sounds like things improved quite a bit for the Xbox Series X and S in the UK last month (May 2026), as The Game Business reporter Chris Dring is stating that sales were up 12% compared to the month before.
Dring says this seems to have at least partly been influenced by Forza Horizon 6:
As you can see, PS5 sales also took a nosedive in May due a price increase, which means sales of both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S were almost identical last month.
Of course, it's hard to say whether that 12% increase was all because of Forza Horizon 6 or perhaps also because of Xbox starting to add new features for Series X|S consoles again, but it is causing people to bring up the argument that by having a major console exclusive such as FH6, Xbox is inevitably going to attract more console sales.
The fact remains that Forza Horizon 6 will be coming to PS5 at some point later this year, but Xbox will be hoping that the likes of Gears of War: E-Day, GTA 6 and Fable will be able to entice more buyers over the next 12 months.
