With the release of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S recently, it provided us with our first ever chance to play Metal Gear Solid 4 on an Xbox console - either as part of the collection or as a standalone purchase on the Xbox Store for £26.98 / $29.99.

As you may be aware, Metal Gear Solid 4 features a famous joke where Snake is told to change the disc halfway through the game before Octacon realises that the PS3's blu-ray disc is dual-layered so there's "no need to swap".

However, this is slightly different in the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions of the game, with Octacon instead mentioning each of the Xbox consoles by name and stating that they use "high-capacity media, too".

"Hold it, Snake. Time to change the disc. I know, I know... It's a pain. But you need to swap Disc 1 for Disc 2. You see the disc labeled "2"? Oh, wait. We're on Xbox Series X. It uses high-capacity media, too. No need to swap."

"Yeah, what an age we live in, huh, Snake? Wonder what they'll think of next!"

What's also notable is that the PC version is different and sees Octacon acting surprised at a "digital title" before proclaiming that there's "no need to swap", which actually feels like it would have worked better with the Xbox Series S version as well.

Nevertheless, it's interesting to see how they handled this famous joke for the Xbox version, and the game itself seems to be going down a treat with Xbox fans - it literally has a 4.9/5 rating based on over 150 Xbox Store reviews.

Now we wait for the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.3, huh? Surely it's just a matter of time!
