Black Ops 1 & 2 Now Live On PS5, Here's Some Early Footage Compared To Xbox

As you may have seen, the Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 ports have shadow dropped on PS5 (and PS4) today, and there already seems to be a ridiculous amount of interest in both of them on the platform.

It's still very, very early days here, but we wanted to at least provide you with some early footage so you can judge for yourself how different the new PlayStation and old Xbox versions are, and at first glance it does seem like these are mostly straight ports with no major new features.

Of course, one of the things that Xbox players have been disappointed about for some time now is running into apparent "hackers" on the Xbox 360 originals, so that might be an area where PlayStation will get the advantage.

What isn't an advantage is that PlayStation owners have to pay for Black Ops 1 and 2 regardless of whether they owned them back in the PS3 era or not, whereas the Xbox 360 versions are backwards compatible for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Activision is pricing the new ports in line with the older Xbox versions, which means they've got a base price of £34.99 / $39.99 (and both the Season Passes also cost £24.99 / $29.99).

However, as you can see from the image above, PS Plus owners get a significant launch discount.

We'll leave you with some of that early footage of the PS5 version for BO1 down below, compared with an Xbox video from three months ago beneath it. Stay tuned for more, as we'll be back either later today or tomorrow with more coverage on these ports once people have started to discover the differences in more detail (if there are any!).
