@Titntin 70B is the biggest deal in gaming history. Well, Sony seems to be a big part of it, clearly. They made it so & they are part of the conversation. MS is trying to compete and has the money to invest in publishers. If Sony could, they would've done the same? Something never been done before = so it can't exist? If Sony would've bought a publisher before it would be fine? That is irrelevant and not how the world works! You live too much in the past. There is no reverse card for companies like MS, Apple, FB/Meta, Amazon, ...

@Titntin Just too vague after reading "Our commitments for ZeniMax". It's all about interpretation + MS can't behave like in the old days. Sony once tried to backstab Nintendo (aka Nintendo PlayStation console) so they are the trusted one? They are big compagnies and need to make money but they can be pro-consumer while doing so.

• Sony's arguments are a bit hypocrite too, no? FTC has a job to do but they need to be careful. Starting with giving solutions/expectations (not how MS needs to make money for Sony). At the end it is about the consumer and not about some competitor who seems to feel/act privileged. I get it to some point. But not by throwing others like EA, Nintendo or even their own devs under the bus in saying that they are not being able to make something like COD.

The whole narrative feels weird when saying MS is anti-competitive & Sony is not. The fact regulators are more listening to Sony's arguments - the leader in the gaming industry (+ after watching the GA doing more than fine 1st & 3rd party EXCLUSIVE) - is a bigger breech than what MS has been showing the last couple of years. Doesn't mean they need to be trusted blindly but the effort is there & regulators can build some legal stuff in so MS doesn't start acting evil after a couple of years.

At the end of the day Sony is not better than MS! Sony keeps a lot of games from MS and that trend is still going! I'm a multi-platform gamer so I like exclusives because I see they are the better (+more funded) games overall. But giving one a free pass for having those exclusives but the other one is evil for trying to get some? That's just wrong imo

The only thing that would make sense in this case:

All ABK games become multi-plat?
All Sony exclusives become multi-plat.

• thinking that blocking the deal is the best solution? Sorry, but that's being naive ...

@Titntin What smoking gun? IIRC MS released an official statement called "Our commitments for ZeniMax" which said that PC is included and would take other consoles on a case-by-case basis.

For people who don't already know YT Hoeg Law (Virtual legality) concerning the law on this deal, is always an interesting watch!

@Snake_V5 Sony can never win this one! Even if the deal doesn't go through they will lose at the end. Even if COD would stay indepent, MS is never going to let the amount of devs work on those titles forever. Sony will lose all goodwill at Activision, already did now with MS because of blocking games from GP which MS thinks it's the future (big investement). Sony will lose millions because MS will not let them make millions on their account. There are limits on Sony's demands (surprised how Sony gets to influence the regulators at this point as a number 1 in the industry = as if regulators have a lot of Sony shares)
MS has been "the good guy" for many years now & it finally pays off. I hope they will stay that way on don't do a Sony post PS4!

PS5 is probably the most popular one but glad we’re seeing some PS3/Xbox360 competition (lots of people I know who are usually buying a PS are also thinking of buying a Series S). Switch is also popular but I think their growth is coming slowly to an end.

My most anticipated list of some follow up are IO James Bond, the Indy game, something GTA6, Perfect Dark, Hellblade 2 & FM8.

@Chaudy They can make a good competitor but they need to invest in it too. They need a long term vision. Imo Killzone/Resistance/SOCOM/ … had potential but this takes years. Instead they made room for COD/Battlefield on the PS platform. After all these years what became the secret sauce for the popularity of COD games on PS? Battlefield failed a few times but with Vanguard we saw COD fail as well. And what makes the F2P shooters genre popular? A lot of people seem to invest in those.

Really tried to like it because it is my fave genre in games. I don’t mind the style, glad they tried something different. I like the overall presentation but man, I really don’t like the car handling (again + story oc) & I played so many different race games since COVID (+20 on different platforms). Oh, and race games need to be 60 FPS 😉

Ha, that would be a true consumer move, not the Sony we know though + they make way more money not doing it. I do wonder how much the subscriber count would rise if they would do it.

I know some Sony only gamers & they would sign up immediately for day one releases + If the AB goes through, they are planning to buy an extra Xbox Console. Game Pass is really a thing for them even though they like to play with the DS controller in games.

A game needs at least a decent launch, seldom go back. Enough decent titles where you don’t need to be a bèta tester. COD Vanguard, BF 2042, Crossfire, … I don’t mind some fine tuning but these titles ruined the overall experience.

High On Life & hope the comedy will be spot on and has some fresh gameplay angles.
I have a feeling the expectations on The Callisto Protocol are very high at this point. I liked the concept of Dead Space & wonder how much familiar it will be in comparison to that DS universe.

Enjoyed a lot of games on GP & less new games on Ninty & a couple exclusives on PS but so difficult to pick one imo. Really was waiting for 1 next gen title on console that would blow me away. But with that being said, a lot of overall good games (several genres too) are available on every console. As a gamer that is a good thing.

COD stays on PS but if MS wants to tank COD after the acquisition, they can. There is no commitment needed or even less, trying to demand some.
Sony will never get what they really want!

COD Xbox = GP + exclusive perks & that's a big loss. It's the same thing what Sony has managed to do for decades, but now it's the other way around. Shouldn't be too difficult to accept?

R* used to be creative and make games. Now they make money selling the same game every generation. As a company they make lots of dinero. As a gamer, I used to respect them as devs because I liked & played their games.
If I'm lucky maybe I get to see 3 more games (sequels) & probably 0 new IP's, in my life time. Glad people enjoy GTA Online but I rather spend my money on various other things.

Just a another positive for the AB deal, not for FF fans on Xbox only though. Xbox doens't make exclusives anymore since they release on PC day one (but PS only fans keep hammering on that fact). I love exclusives personally but not timed exclusives. It's just annoying for those who have to wait since -in a way- they are multiplats.
Very intriqued how the console space will be in about 2-3 years with these timed exlusives. Use that money to invest in games (not keeping them away from other platforms I mean - and applies to both sides btw)

No SH games on Xbox but I would love to replay 2 (PS2) (awesome OST imo). I don't mind replaying 20 year old games (RE4 remake is another one)

Pro deal, having all consoles, I think we all will benefit from this (short term). Maybe a tiny bit more PS fan because of their SP experiences but this deal not going through would feel very weird after seeing what PS got to do on the gaming market (still doing) all those years. I understand MS for buying stuff since PS pays to keep 3rd party games off the MS platform (or paying to keep them off GP). The CMA uses too much Sony Playstation & too little what is good for the consumer. Crazy that a leading game company like Sony can control the narrative here. It's all business at the end of the day but Sony didn't do MS any favors over those years (+ MS didn't go all-in before & hopefully learned a lot from the past). They are all-in now so MS is just not going to let go. You reap what you sow (paying for keeping games off GP?).
Maybe Sony will start making decent FPS games again because of it! (+ stop being so arrogant & start doing some pro cosumer moves). MS has done great on that part & I hope it will stay that way & never become arrogant themselves.

Sony needs real competition & adapt (like €80 for a digital game isn't logical for one)

Even when playing 30 fps for years, once you get used to it, it’s hard to go back + the gameplay isn’t slow so I’m very interested how it will turn out.
I remember years ago that screen tearing was a huge problem in games and saw many people not caring for it. I wonder what the scale is between people wanting 60 fps & people that are okay with 30 fps in a fast paced game? PC gamers are leaving the console gamers behind on this one. And console games made such a progress this generation imo.

Supported PG on all 3 platforms. Madworld, Bayonetta series, Vanquish, wonderful 101, … Skipping Xbox will bite them in the ***, at least, the way they are trying to explain this (If it were an Indie dev okay but …) + they need to make new quality games. I hope this isn’t about Scalebound either. That ship has sailed.

B3 was the best one imo, loved it a lot! Enjoying Black now but it needs adjusting. No jump button & no achievements who cares for them.

Also DICE made decent race games before sticking to FPS. I wish devs could split their teams & make different genres (if big enough oc)

Need For Speed: Underground 2 (2004) & had a lot fun with the Shift series too. Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) was the last one I bought but I was expecting too much of having a bit more Burnout flavor then it already had (Criterion). Probably wanted a new Burnout game (a la Burnout 3: Takedown). Lost interest in the series but I hope that the new NFS will surprise me.

@bagman8 I enjoyed Spec Ops The line so much, I thought, why not try Black since I always wanted to play it.
The button layout needed me to adjust somewhat. I like it so far (level 6) considering it' a PS2/Xbox title (2006).
Enemies are no pushover, like, you almost need an entire clip before they go down & then the dude with the hockey mask is even tougher. Challenging but fun! After this probably going back to Prodeus. Surprised I've been playing a lot of FPS lately

FH5 controller wasn't really available anymore so I went for a Superman themed colored one (Blue/Red/Yellow). I doubted to take the rubber grips but glad I got them in the end. Good quality! Still can't believe the more expensive Elite has quality issues ...

Played a lot more back then & loved the blades (the guide button has some similarities). It was just so simple & easy to use. There are more features available so this could really benefit if something like that was used. But that would only be from the consumer’s POV oc. I don’t care how it looks but how player friendly it is! If they have something better, I’ll be happy to use it.

Sony has the studios, the quality, ... COMPETE with what you have & learn some lessons from MS about being consumer friendly while making profit! Sony is my fave SP platform but most friends are on Xbox (MP). MS still has some work to do on that front (SP) + buying AB isn't the holy grail.

It is not likely but if the future owner of COD would like to end the franchise they can not do it because of their attitude?

Every disc loads when opening/closing the drive or rebooting the console. With FH1 it does nothing, like there is no disc. My thought was loading it on my Xbox One would be easy. It has no problem loading/playing but no cloud save, so only a new game (but I like to play where I left off & play the DLC). Tried via USB but the already formatted USB doesn’t recognize the 2GB save.
There is no specific fault code showing. Even removed cache but no dice. And it’s still connected to the internet. There are also a couple of bought XBLA games that I bought and showing now as a not bought/trial but Achievements unlocked but it is FH1 I care for.

@Zochmenos You mean replacing the disc drive? I only have this problem with FH1, sadly. Looked online & more people seem to have that problem. Tried to tinker a bit but the 2GB seems to be too big. If I was on PC it could've worked.

Excited for this! Sadly My 360 FH1 copy doesn’t want to load the disc anymore. Can only start a new game on Xbox One but no save possible and no DLC that I bought, even through the cloud. Just wanted to see the cars in my garage …

Owe all 360 Rare games separately & even though I want to play the remaster, I’m not going to invest more money. It’s not a lot but I have a back catalogue to take care of. We need days with 48 hours 😛

So Sony PlayStation, the biggest market leader in games has no problems buying others but when MS tries to be competitive it’s seen as problematic? It’s a big acquisition but does it make MS all of sudden the leader? MS has been trying to be consumer friendly for years now and MS certainly isn’t the MS of the old days + it’s their gaming division. It seems Sony & Apple can practically do what they want and nobody over there seem to worry about that. Sony PS already gave away they are getting more competition by their statements. They wiped the floor with MS for years! They had COD deals for years and didn’t feel sorry for MS, did they? They do mind when they get a uno reverse 🙂 (they will lose a lot of profit from that one)
I’m a gamer and own every console & we as gamers will benefit from this deal. And PS needs to “work” harder to be on top.
