Re: These Two New Game Pass Indies Are Short, Sweet, And Well Worth A Play

Pusher2021

@Backagen
I hear ya. Tastes differ ofc. I hope I like it myself because it is short and I don't give up easily. Fingers crossed!

Edit: Few hours in & I quite like it. Just chilling and collect stuff and do some mini games. The only nitpick is the camera! Maybe short if you are playing this a second time because I already spend like 3 hours ... It really grew on me tbh ...

Re: These Two New Game Pass Indies Are Short, Sweet, And Well Worth A Play

Pusher2021

@Backagen

A lot of people disagree with you . Haven’t tried it myself but I’m not expecting a big game made by one dev (IIRC). Since people seem to enjoy the game it’s only a plus for most gamers and the dev in question.
I will try this for sure and will def try to finish the game so I can experience some deeper aspects and the goal of the dev. I’m weird like that.

Re: Talking Point: We're Officially Four Weeks Away From The Early Access Launch Of Starfield

Pusher2021

After Fallout 76 (people seem to love it in 2023) I wasn't really 'hyped" for the game. After the last showcase, I must admit, I was blown away (also an OST fan of games & movies). I actually went for premium because of the OST, early access or Starfield controller/headset stuff is not my cup of tea (but I get those people). Also, the full backing of MS has turned me into a believer tbh. In OCT however, I will probably change my interests for a while

Re: Xbox's Phil Spencer Enjoying Another 'Beautiful' Game Pass Title

Pusher2021

Completed the game, but what's up with those games who don't perfect the gameplay mechanics? Is it to make the game look longer to complete? Loved the story telling voice & music, but those clunky controls made it extra hard to completely enjoy the game. I don't mind if it's a shorter experience, but the gameplay mechanics must be on point!

Re: Deals: All 30+ Backwards Compatible Games In This Week's Xbox Sales (August 1-8)

Pusher2021

@shoeses They seem to care about the BC program, so if possible they will do something about it. I still got a huge 360 collection, and it would be great to just play on XSX, but licensing is a big obstacle. Like Virtua Tennis isn't possible either, but I doubt that this is a Sega problem.

A pity that such a problem exist because it would be so consumer friendly (when the platform holder wants to & no licensing issues exist) we get to play on one console of that brand. I got too many consoles hooked on my TV.

My fave is the race genre, and Driver SF looks awesome!

Re: Xbox's ActiBlizz Deal Is 'Good News' For Multiple Reasons, Explains Ubisoft CEO

Pusher2021

A big fan of Ubisoft in the old days. Didn't like the bloated X games (got a bit Ubisoft fatique).
They put a lot of work in the racing game The Crew 2 (not a fan, but I think part of the reason The Crew Motorfest will be good). Also, if AC Mirage turns out good, we have PoP (fan of the series), a new Splinter Cell, Star Wars, ...

Crazy is the amount of simultaneous projects they have there at the moment!! (+20000 employees!)
Net worth 4 Billion dollars IIRC?

Re: How To Access Free 'The Crew Motorfest' Beta On Xbox Series X|S

Pusher2021

Okay, played a few hours and drove many cars, the game is def FUN for me. Really Arcadey, like tires are super grippy and there is easy braking (FH feels more simcade to me).
Roads are wide like NFS. Very recognisable but in a good way. I don't mind games copying other games, as long as they take the good things and leave out the bad
This Beta has a lot of gameplay. Maybe some fine tuning here and there but def going to pick it now

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox Games Showcase 2023?

Pusher2021

Between B+ overall. Nice to see some nice things for me personal. First thought of a few games was, a new Bioshock (Clockwork Revolution) and Hades 2 (33 Immortals) (liked them). Not even a Bethesda fan but that deep dive looked awesome, so much to do, and dare to say it's going to be good + Flightsim 2024 looked kind of cool if you're in to that. No Hellblade 2 though ...

Missed my personal games I was looking forward to, to see some progress are Perfect Dark, 007, Indy, Gears, Judas, ... and a remake I want to know more about is Max Payne 1+2.

Lots of stuff for Game Pass. Persona fans will be happy. Payday 3 on GP, but I always saw that one as a PS title, strangely enough.

But as a showcase I enjoyed watching it, no ads, straight on to the good stuff.

Better than the PS showcase imo so I hope for every other platform, it feels like MS is still playing.

And a good relationship with Sega ...

Re: Reaction: Xbox Is Set Up For A Winning Showcase After Summer Game Fest 2023

Pusher2021

It’s already considered the Holy Grail. I hope Xbox Only fans dreams may come true. I’m starting to believe it will and I’m ready to be disappointed 😄
All games showed in the showcase will be on GP, right? And it’s a long show.

What will the “One More Thing” be at the end of the show?

  • no poll? What games are getting a release date, who will show up (besides Spencer & Martin), …

Re: Western Digital Officially Announces Two New Xbox Expansion Cards

Pusher2021

And for us Europeans 1TB = €160

Overall they used to put $100 = €90, later it was $100 = €100, now $100 = €110. The real conversion now is $100 = €93.50

Do those brands all have different scales in 1TB = X GB? And is this officially mentioned on their website? 1TB = 700 GB is kinda low?

Edit, had to check this out:

https://www.techradar.com/reviews/seagate-xbox-storage-expansion-card-review

What’s worth pointing out though is that, like almost every hard drive, the usable space on the expansion card is less than the advertised 1TB. Between onboard drivers and the discrepancy in how the console reads available space on the card, you’re actually left with 920GB to play with. Still, that’s more than the 802GB the Xbox Series X’s “1TB” hard drive provides, and huge compared to the 512GB the Xbox Series S is shipped with.

Re: Our Predictions For The 2023 Xbox Games Showcase

Pusher2021

-Redfall 60 FPS - I wouldn't mention Redfall at all in that showcase!

-Fond Indy game memories on Xbox so I hope that will work out in the end

-Hopefully no full CGI trailers either (especially when they mean/reveal nothing). A combination of the two I have no problem with, but gameplay is the most important one.

I expect a notable GP release and updates from games on the way. A shadow drop like HFR would be great ...

-Turn 10 (FM), Double Fine (collection sort of already started on GP), Bethesda (Starfield), PG (Fable), ... will be there (is a given I think) + Hollow Knight: Silksong, Replaced, STALKER 2 & Lies of P should be there in some capacity?

-No Scalebound announcement for me, pretty please

-Maybe a reboot or remake (not going to happen, but PGR or 3rd party Topspin for me personal) + Banjo, Conker, Mechassault, Killer Instinct, Wolfenstein, Gears (some already rumoured) ...

Maybe:

-A new UI dashboard with some interesting features (more customisable)

-Controller a la Dual Sense (not for me personal, but I think people would like that as an extra choice)

-A bigger partnership between Microsoft and Nintendo

-Release dates!!

Sony PS "wanted showcase lists" were amazing, but the results were, in terms of delivering them, very bad (expectations were too high & unrealistic + after revisiting the comments, even the included "RIP Xbox" comment were hilarious), so personally I have not many expectations.

State of Decay 3, Contraband, Avowed, Everwild, Routine, Pragmata, Space Marine 2, Atlas Fallen, Flintlock: Siege of the Dawn (GP), Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden,... so many games, we need more showcases (some already have a trailer/announced 2022 & some were scheduled 2023?)

So, enough possibilities tbh but a lot lies ahead (overall) for us gamers ...

I do hope it is a good showcase so Sony PS can stop kind of freewheeling ... but I expect them also to be playing it save ...

I hope SummerFest has some Max Payne 1+2 Remake / IO Interactive James Bond updates + Codemasters & Ubisofts news on the racing front

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer 'Really Enjoying' New Game Pass Indie Title

Pusher2021

@Fishticon I gave it a 5. All Xbox games considered, it's a 5. There's nothing really outstanding about it, and it's nothing we haven't seen before. It's Oddworld without the humor and Another World without an interesting story.
Actually I should have gave it less than a 5, but I felt generous.

Wow, you really don't like games, do you? But in all seriousness, all games look alike, especially all MP nowadays. Every game borrows something from another. In this game, to me at least, it felt positive. This is an Indie title (good OST + controls) and for me, it is 8/10!

Even though reviews/opinions are subjective, a 5 just seems to be too low, even if it's not your kind of game. It's like Spider-Man 2 (at first glance) & God Of War Ragnarok, are more of the same (for me), but that doesn't have to be bad per se and I get why they get high scores + they still offer something extra imo.

But AA can't be compared to AAA games. I think reviewers (myself included) compare it to other AA games. That is why I like Journey or Stray (even replayed HOA on Xbox which I bought on PS) or other games that create something emotional, atmospheric, chill, good OST, ... and at the end, a good experience to go through.

Just curious ... what Indie titles are 8/10 for you? Or maybe you don't like Indie titles? Which is fine by me, but those games have their merits in gaming land.

Re: Xbox's Activision Blizzard Deal Officially Approved In Europe

Pusher2021

@S1ayeR74 The CMA reaction to the EU feels like, we block it either way. Amazon Luna cloud service is so huge compared to MS cloud. I wonder if CAT will turn this around and if the CMA will change their mind because of it. After that statement they seem adamant. ABK deal is overly big, people’s uncertainty what will happen/not happen (don’t care about Kotick), the deals already made, … Very interesting indeed!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 6-7)

Pusher2021

Not a lot of time to play but put a few hours in The Last Case Of Benedict Fox. What a gorgeous game (big fan of the art styl) but with clunky controls. How could they be so wrong in that departement while the other one is top notch imo. The message “You need more items to solve this puzzle” is really annoying & unnecessary frustrating at times imo. I was hoping it would give me the same surprise experience as Tinykin which played like a dream, but unfortunately, it isn’t. At first I couldn’t understand the negative reviews because I had a blast. The game is just not player friendly if that makes sense?
Is nobody playing theirs games before releasing them? (Rhetoric)

Re: Review: Redfall - Arkane's Undead Experiment Brings Mixed Results To Xbox Game Pass

Pusher2021

Listened to a lot of podcasts before going into the game myself and was actually intrigued since there were some people enjoying it. Got about 4+ hours in nothing technically wrong happened so there is that. Arcane graphics, nothing out of the ordinary. No cutscenes that must saved them a lot of money but didn’t mind that. It’s nota’s bad as some say but it isn’t very good either. €70 is a bit steep too but I could play in on GPU. You can have fun with the game but it’s no AAA. Liked some missions but the AI is really dumb sometimes. It feels like, hey this what we already got, what could we add to make a more full blown game to charge it €70? Kind of had a feeling about this one but I don’t know Phil Spencer apologizing for it was necessary. Devs get too much wiggle room and need someone who keeps annoying them during development since the hands off here did not work. Not paying full price is a godsend.
