@themightyant I can see a timeframe for next-gen 2026-2027. 2026 announcement and at the end of 2027 a next-gen Xbox console. That is, if, PS5 Pro will release, and, if Xbox does not have plans to release a similar (specs) Pro version. Evidence will only be available if there’s another leak or stolen data imo. IIRC (MS Xbox PR speak), I thought de Series S was seen as the regular console and the Series X was their Pro? Or MS waits until they got several games ready, but isn’t that too far away? How many games can be ready for release in the next few years? Tbh, I think Sony and MS will keep looking at each other and react accordingly, not like Nintendo, who are doing their own thing.
@Kezelpaso Will follow things up for sure since it is my favorite genre. Beta testing was an overall feeling not meant for this game alone. They delayed a lot of times so maybe this means they have another attitude towards releasing broken games. Fingers crossed!
I think they are still testing the waters and make a few exclusive titles on console and see if it’s the right investment to get more subscribers on GP. At a certain time, decisions are going to be made if every game (new ip) from now on will be exclusive (except legacy games and well known moneymakers). It was a game by game case but GP needs to keep growing. If the last one fails, MS will probably change tactics. 3rd place is good for us consumers but logically, MS should be closer to Sony/Nintendo within 5 years of developing new games. There’s a lot of potential to be able to do that but it’s still a guessing game imo. I hope they will succeed so Sony/Nintendo will keep delivering!
Video does look good but I’m going to wait this one out. It’s a bit early, but that will be one of my New Year’s resolutions, don’t buy games that are too expensive or released too early (no more Beta testing) 😀
Sadly, doesn’t work properly. My most played game is indeed FH5 but shows only 735/2500 GS on that game while its GS has been completed after every update. Also got that 5% thing. Nice gimmick but I wish it was more accurate and I also would like to know how they come to these results in the first place? I even got a new problem, my GS is staying on 0% in DEC, while completed the Spirit game on GPU. It has worked fine the whole year and didn’t change any settings.
The vibes/atmosphere is/are captured like expected. The hype is definitely real! I didn’t applaud all the different GTA5 generation games but on the positive side, a lot of the money made with those games will be put in the development of the new game. The dev budget for GTA6 is insane and never done before!. 2 years to built up even more hype for a piece of entertainment is going to be fun to watch. For me personally, I hope a lot will be invested in the SP experience. I doubt there will be some kind of exclusivity on either console, MS has many other investments and Sony can’t afford that amount of money (to busy with GAAS). The game will sell itself 😄
Turn10 has bigger fish to fry, like fixing a broken game. Builders Cup is still a big issue. I just wasted more time trying to complete one of the series, again. Tried not to buy upgrades and apply other tricks (which is not normal) but I'm starting to get frustrated because they did not help and other problems occurred. Completed a series and the game crashes ==> and I'm back in the middle of the already finished series, like WTH? And I almost finished the new series, that progression is lost too (and that series is locked again). That's like 7 races gone!!
Another time, I had to buy a car for a new series, crash, also progress gone, and I have to start in the middle of the previous, already completed series. This is bonkers!
If a race is won, save the bloody game, so we can continue even after a crash. Or included a manual save. This game is a mess! How you can release a game in this state is beyond me!
Edit: Games has never crashed on me during races itself, not even hiccups. Always happens when a menu appears. And the car level retains since that hotfix (after a crash).
The amount of times I lost progress is insane. This game doesn't even save after completing/finishing a whole event. I'm already doing a new series and suddenly the server can't connect so I restart, and I'm back in the middle of the previous series. Broken gameplay at this point! I stopped upgrading my car to avoid infinite loading, now this happens. You just can't get a break with this game.
XSX: Forza Motorsports 8 on Xbox acts weird concerning saving, it seems. I get the idea for levelling your car but for + 500 cars? + with the update, a level 50 car went to 29. It takes a long time to get to that level, at least have a proper save system. Also, going through the menus has so many issues (freezing, hiccups, etc). Starting to think this game needed a 6 month more dev time.

Wow, surprised how many AB games I actually owned (about 70%). I hope the Transformers series (and a few other games) are getting an update on the BC program. Wouldn't mind a future Prototype game
For now, a few things I like over GT7 is the chase cam (feels/plays weird in GT7) and the car's handling/gripping on the road while playing with a controller.
I drive on manual, so maybe that's a reason I don't mind the slower progression, but it's early days.
I do miss some related features like scapes or licences.
And MTX in games are there for a reason imo (faster progression, wanting more cars, etc). The NBA 2K games are good games but MTX ruin the experience, so I don't bother any more. I don't like it in the Crew Motorfest either. When you want to complete the Summit each week stuff it becomes a grind and less fun so I get why they are there.
The FTC can do this forever IIRC, even after the deal is done. Scrutiny is necessary, but that goes both ways imo. The FTC was already told not to beat a dead (American) horse but they still manage to not comply until something comes up that rings any bells.
They already know about the leaked emails though (wanting to buy Nintendo etc.), no? Even though the FTC lost again in court, it doesn't seem to get the message moving on with other things like Amazon. I don't believe they have such a great flow of workforce to keep tackling several big cases day in day out.
Personally, I want to see if anything soon will change with my GPU sub and if several existing (and maybe future planned) developments can go further where they left off (+ safe environments for the devs ofco). I wonder how much money MS has to pay up outside the $69B or what extra deals they could have made concerning Ubisoft.
It also seems that consolidation is a walk in the park or easy money they can make, but doesn't seem the case at all (hence Embracer group)

Don't care about the early access. Always bought the car pass in FM & FH games. To me, they have always been good value (in case of TCM I did regret it though). Mostly buy those games later when they are €25 (and put +100 hours in).
Phil Spencer is def passioned about Xbox and I do hope that the controller gets released, so 3rd party devs will implement those features more (= more support for the Sony DS).
I never buy mid-gen consoles and totally not sold on digital only!
However, Nintendo needs to remain Nintendo! I do hope their successor has some special features in mind!
This was crazy to see but it seems MS did this themselves. Goes to show that things said in 2020 change a lot & new goals need to get set.
The only reasonable thing to me is 2028 for a new gen but the fact they would scrap the disc-drive is big no no for me. On PC it makes sense because of the "free" market, but on console it could mean only digital games from their brand stores. I cancelled my digital Spider-man 2 DE for a cheaper physical one (below €60 + €10 for the DE add-on, I hope) instead of €90.
Bought 11 Ultimate as a launch game IIRC. I love the franchise, but will skip this one until it gets cheaper or wait for Tekken 8. I like to switch it up since my wallet isn't deep enough to buy them all
They did a nice job with "introducing" the game, but it can't keep up that level towards the end of the game imo. Also, the interior view without working mirrors (almost blacked out) is a bit off-putting.
@Titntin Didn't watch reviews until just now. Luke Reilly knows his racing stuff & mostly agree with him (and points out some things I felt during my playthrough)
@Titntin The game is fun, but now I call it a FH5 light. Done all the races (100%) and my credits account is about 200K. I looked at the Bugatti's and there are about 15 of them with an average of 2M a piece. That is a lot of races for just 1 brand. If I'm not mistaken, the last LBW race gives you the highest amount of money? + Summit Events are weekly, so check those out if you haven't already!
Tbf, when playing the CB I was a bit over the moon (comparing previous entries) and really liked it (completed everything). In hindsight, they could've given a much better UE version.
The reason I bought a plane + boat so soon is because of the CB. I had so much fun combining those during the CB, I was playing like they were already there. I played the CB for 2 days straight, so driving to events wasn't as fun for me because of the annoying (ghost/no ghost) traffic was still there. I have a clip doing a Slalom and all cars are ghosted until the last one changed suddenly in a non ghost car and collided. I rewatched the clip and it was ghosted until the collision.
The drifting, I'm not feeling it yet. It feels like I'm not in control of the car like in FH5 (all settings off & RWD).
The MTX thing, you can play as long as you want, you don't need to use them, I agree, but ... imo, they just don't belong there! (maybe because I already paid €120 for it)

Race games are my favourite genre, so for me the game is still good (low 8) + FH has some competition (still my fave).
Starfield is a game I will play in chunks for years to come .

I played mostly The Crew Motorfest (+ season FH5) after getting a break from Starfield. After playing the Closed Beta I had high expectations for it to be on the same level as FH (somewhat). The overall experience is still fun, but not as good overall as I thought it would be. Bikes & boats or okay and planes are good when you can't fast travel at first or just want to enjoy the view of the map. The handling of the planes when trying to set a good time not as good + drifting feels horrendous (but maybe that's a me problem because I'm used to doing it a lot in FH5). Game progression is at 93%.
There is a lot of room for improvement, but since IT supported their last games regularly, I'm hopeful some tweaks can be made.
After playing the CB I must admit, I felt some FOMO towards this game and bought the UE (I hope I learned my lesson not doing that again soon )
EDIT: I have the Dream cars to finish (Supercar Blondie = real YT channel) but haven't got enough funds to enter. I followed the SP content & only bought a plane because of fast travel wasn't yet available. Without buying that, I would've had the opportunity to enter it (EDIT2 not exactly true because I bought some needed Summit Contest vehicles), but now I need to do some more side activities for credits (already did a lot) or pay additionally more real money (MTX) to move on. Going straight to that last Play List is not possible because I need to buy a 1M Lambo to enter .
Liked the demo & hope the difficulty isn't too off-putting (maybe a better balance patch?). If 2024 will be anything like 2023 in terms of good games ... + another good GP title!
In the first 20 hours around 7,5- 8 (now 8,5) but the more I play this, the more I enjoy the scale of the game & discover stuff I didn't know was there.
Not matter what the scores are & why they were given, this game has taken over so many people's lives, it's crazy.
I know people like to compare to other "space" games but it is just not the same & reading about it is so different from really diving into it.
I almost 100% the game. Ended the game and just need to listen to my found records. Of course, when the game ends, that was not possible any more. That issue was told by several people but probably wasn't possible?
But always good if devs keep working on their titles. The Kalypso tennis game had some troubles and after I writing them an email they just said they didn't work/update the game any more because their wotk on that project came to an end. Then I knew, I didn't had to buy it afterwards either because they probably didn't want me to give them money .
This is funny. People who are a bit further in the game maybe had this happen too. In short.
I go on a mission (Empty Nest), Sam & daughter are travelling with me (+ Sarah & Marika). I do the mission (step 1) and next I have to talk to Sam (step 2).
On this mission Sarah was with me (really can't shut up about me picking up med packs and such) & Sam + daughter stayed on the ship. So, I'm thinking, talking to Sam (step 2) is easy, just go back to the ship, right? Daughter is there, Sam (father) is gone like wth? Can not talk to Sam so I fly back to "a place" hoping Sam reappears. Game freezes, throws me out and loads my last save (keeping my fingers crossed).
Suddenly Sam is there but Sarah is gone now
This game is huge. Got casino money (on Olympus with gravitation gunfight) and forgot to sell stuff before. Tried to avoid scanning but no dice and flew from stars & planets trying to avoid it (too early in the game, and not a lot of options = reloaded a lot & tried many things but learned a lot). Didn't want to start all over, so I landed and wanted to give up my contraband. In short = made a deal to spy on the Crimson fleet instead while getting paid for it. Curious where I will end up
I was going to play it very slow & complete stuff bit by bit, but changed my mind, after getting to the "London mark" & collecting all 5 resources + SG (not to spoil it). After getting the last one, I got booted out of the game and the game restarted back at the beginning of the mission (no auto save after getting the SG). Not going to 100% this mission (at least not today or any time soon). That was just too much time wasted. So save as much as possible!
Edit: and beware, you can easily get stuck there with your character too!
@Martsmall That's why I left half of my ammo and all junk on the ship. Moving is a lot more fun but the ammo goes a lot faster than I thought. Went back to the ship to get some but the other half of my ammo was gone? Was hoping Vasco had it but no.

I'm on New Atlantis and have severe lung damage. Also, it doesn't help to horde stuff along the way (running capabilities). My ship is a mess. I can sell all of that junk, right? I'm just winging it
I talked my way out of the first one, but already have lung & afflictions (out of breath in no time = dislike that part). A lot of realism effecting your character, like frostbite, joint pain, lung damage, concussion, ...
I like the shooting part and choice between, 1st person, 3rd person or over the shoulder look (no shoulder switching possible). Music is top-notch imo.
I like the idea of giving my XSX a "jacket" but I outgrew these sorts of things, I think. Maybe if there was a Forza one? Maybe they will make a thicker one, so you can put it in the freezer and cool down your XSX (wine cooler idea)
RDR2 is an awesome looking masterpiece (still room for perfection though). GTA Online (Shark cards) changed R*. As gamers, we think that they could make some great AAA games instead of just raking the money in with bad, every gen port, or "just" simple ports. People starting to realise that the new GTA will have more online stuff than ever before, so prefer RDR series?
Must be MechAssault IIRC. Others are Midtown Madness 3 & Topspin (had some good conversations during those matches). Xbox Live in the beginning was kinda “special”.
Use common sense, but that's not always possible it seems. Some people like to use some sort of banter, but sometimes the line is thin. Looking forward how this will go because sometimes even the ones who give the bans go overboard without some context. It' isn't an easy task tbh ...
Bought this on day 1 too & it's amazing how these devs keep supporting the game. The more you play, the better you get (performing the right combo's). Once that clicks, the game is amazing to play!

Don't care about the early access. Always bought the car pass in FM & FH games. To me, they have always been good value (in case of TCM I did regret it though). Mostly buy those games later when they are €25 (and put +100 hours in).

Phil Spencer is def passioned about Xbox and I do hope that the controller gets released, so 3rd party devs will implement those features more (= more support for the Sony DS).
I never buy mid-gen consoles and totally not sold on digital only!
However, Nintendo needs to remain Nintendo! I do hope their successor has some special features in mind!

This was crazy to see but it seems MS did this themselves. Goes to show that things said in 2020 change a lot & new goals need to get set.
The only reasonable thing to me is 2028 for a new gen but the fact they would scrap the disc-drive is big no no for me.
On PC it makes sense because of the "free" market, but on console it could mean only digital games from their brand stores.
I cancelled my digital Spider-man 2 DE for a cheaper physical one (below €60 + €10 for the DE add-on, I hope) instead of €90.

Bought 11 Ultimate as a launch game IIRC. I love the franchise, but will skip this one until it gets cheaper or wait for Tekken 8. I like to switch it up since my wallet isn't deep enough to buy them all

They did a nice job with "introducing" the game, but it can't keep up that level towards the end of the game imo. Also, the interior view without working mirrors (almost blacked out) is a bit off-putting.

@Titntin The game is fun, but now I call it a FH5 light. Done all the races (100%) and my credits account is about 200K. I looked at the Bugatti's and there are about 15 of them with an average of 2M a piece. That is a lot of races for just 1 brand. If I'm not mistaken, the last LBW race gives you the highest amount of money? + Summit Events are weekly, so check those out if you haven't already!
Tbf, when playing the CB I was a bit over the moon (comparing previous entries) and really liked it (completed everything). In hindsight, they could've given a much better UE version.
The reason I bought a plane + boat so soon is because of the CB. I had so much fun combining those during the CB, I was playing like they were already there. I played the CB for 2 days straight, so driving to events wasn't as fun for me because of the annoying (ghost/no ghost) traffic was still there. I have a clip doing a Slalom and all cars are ghosted until the last one changed suddenly in a non ghost car and collided. I rewatched the clip and it was ghosted until the collision.
The drifting, I'm not feeling it yet. It feels like I'm not in control of the car like in FH5 (all settings off & RWD).
The MTX thing, you can play as long as you want, you don't need to use them, I agree, but ... imo, they just don't belong there! (maybe because I already paid €120 for it)

Race games are my favourite genre, so for me the game is still good (low 8) + FH has some competition (still my fave).
Starfield is a game I will play in chunks for years to come .

I played mostly The Crew Motorfest (+ season FH5) after getting a break from Starfield. After playing the Closed Beta I had high expectations for it to be on the same level as FH (somewhat). The overall experience is still fun, but not as good overall as I thought it would be. Bikes & boats or okay and planes are good when you can't fast travel at first or just want to enjoy the view of the map. The handling of the planes when trying to set a good time not as good + drifting feels horrendous (but maybe that's a me problem because I'm used to doing it a lot in FH5). Game progression is at 93%.
There is a lot of room for improvement, but since IT supported their last games regularly, I'm hopeful some tweaks can be made.
After playing the CB I must admit, I felt some FOMO towards this game and bought the UE (I hope I learned my lesson not doing that again soon )
EDIT: I have the Dream cars to finish (Supercar Blondie = real YT channel) but haven't got enough funds to enter. I followed the SP content & only bought a plane because of fast travel wasn't yet available. Without buying that, I would've had the opportunity to enter it (EDIT2 not exactly true because I bought some needed Summit Contest vehicles), but now I need to do some more side activities for credits (already did a lot) or pay additionally more real money (MTX) to move on. Going straight to that last Play List is not possible because I need to buy a 1M Lambo to enter .

Liked the demo & hope the difficulty isn't too off-putting (maybe a better balance patch?). If 2024 will be anything like 2023 in terms of good games ... + another good GP title!

In the first 20 hours around 7,5- 8 (now 8,5) but the more I play this, the more I enjoy the scale of the game & discover stuff I didn't know was there.
Not matter what the scores are & why they were given, this game has taken over so many people's lives, it's crazy.

I almost 100% the game. Ended the game and just need to listen to my found records. Of course, when the game ends, that was not possible any more. That issue was told by several people but probably wasn't possible?
But always good if devs keep working on their titles. The Kalypso tennis game had some troubles and after I writing them an email they just said they didn't work/update the game any more because their wotk on that project came to an end.
Then I knew, I didn't had to buy it afterwards either because they probably didn't want me to give them money .

This is funny. People who are a bit further in the game maybe had this happen too. In short.
I go on a mission (Empty Nest), Sam & daughter are travelling with me (+ Sarah & Marika). I do the mission (step 1) and next I have to talk to Sam (step 2).
On this mission Sarah was with me (really can't shut up about me picking up med packs and such) & Sam + daughter stayed on the ship. So, I'm thinking, talking to Sam (step 2) is easy, just go back to the ship, right? Daughter is there, Sam (father) is gone like wth? Can not talk to Sam so I fly back to "a place" hoping Sam reappears. Game freezes, throws me out and loads my last save (keeping my fingers crossed).
Suddenly Sam is there but Sarah is gone now
I know it sounds stupid but this had me LOL!

This game is huge. Got casino money (on Olympus with gravitation gunfight) and forgot to sell stuff before. Tried to avoid scanning but no dice and flew from stars & planets trying to avoid it (too early in the game, and not a lot of options = reloaded a lot & tried many things but learned a lot). Didn't want to start all over, so I landed and wanted to give up my contraband. In short = made a deal to spy on the Crimson fleet instead while getting paid for it. Curious where I will end up

I was going to play it very slow & complete stuff bit by bit, but changed my mind, after getting to the "London mark" & collecting all 5 resources + SG (not to spoil it). After getting the last one, I got booted out of the game and the game restarted back at the beginning of the mission (no auto save after getting the SG). Not going to 100% this mission (at least not today or any time soon). That was just too much time wasted. So save as much as possible!
Edit: and beware, you can easily get stuck there with your character too!

@Martsmall That's why I left half of my ammo and all junk on the ship. Moving is a lot more fun but the ammo goes a lot faster than I thought. Went back to the ship to get some but the other half of my ammo was gone? Was hoping Vasco had it but no.

@Martsmall Lol, I haven't met a seller yet, I was just exploring as much as I could but there are so many hazards to keep an eye on.
I'm on New Atlantis and have severe lung damage. Also, it doesn't help to horde stuff along the way (running capabilities). My ship is a mess. I can sell all of that junk, right? I'm just winging it

I talked my way out of the first one, but already have lung & afflictions (out of breath in no time = dislike that part). A lot of realism effecting your character, like frostbite, joint pain, lung damage, concussion, ...
I like the shooting part and choice between, 1st person, 3rd person or over the shoulder look (no shoulder switching possible). Music is top-notch imo.
Edit: and use Quicksave regularly!

I like the idea of giving my XSX a "jacket" but I outgrew these sorts of things, I think. Maybe if there was a Forza one? Maybe they will make a thicker one, so you can put it in the freezer and cool down your XSX (wine cooler idea)

RDR2 is an awesome looking masterpiece (still room for perfection though). GTA Online (Shark cards) changed R*. As gamers, we think that they could make some great AAA games instead of just raking the money in with bad, every gen port, or "just" simple ports.
People starting to realise that the new GTA will have more online stuff than ever before, so prefer RDR series?

Use common sense, but that's not always possible it seems. Some people like to use some sort of banter, but sometimes the line is thin. Looking forward how this will go because sometimes even the ones who give the bans go overboard without some context. It' isn't an easy task tbh ...

Bought this on day 1 too & it's amazing how these devs keep supporting the game. The more you play, the better you get (performing the right combo's). Once that clicks, the game is amazing to play!
