Starfield's Recent Review Rating Has Dropped To 'Mostly Negative' On Steam

Just over a month ago, Starfield dropped to a 'Mixed' overall user rating on PC platform Steam, and at the time the game's recent reviews also matched up with the platform's overall 'mixed' rating. However, in the weeks since then, Bethesda's open-world RPG has seemingly been getting a more negative reception from Steam users.

The PC platform now categorises recent ratings of Starfield as 'Mostly Negative' - pulled from over 7,000 recent user reviews. The 'overall' score is still classed as mixed, just like last month, but it appears that user reviews have gotten more negative in recent weeks.

It's disappointing to see the public perception of Xbox's biggest 2023 release drop like this, but it's important to note that user reviews don't always find the most positive angles to draw from - especially in the PC space. We're not saying these ratings aren't valid, far from it, but we scored the game 9/10 earlier this year - and the PX community also voted it as their GOTY for 2023. Each to their own!

Bethesda Game Studios, the team behind Starfield, is still working to improve its latest release. Earlier this month, the team confirmed that it's working on six major features for the game in 2024 - including new ways to travel, city maps, a story expansion and more.
