I hate the fact I saw this article. Spent 469 hours on FM23 (via Game Pass) alone. Can't complain about the value of the sub!

Thinks it’s broke for me because says I’ve only played 2 games for 2 hours total and that’s definitely not the case.

344hrs total in Halo Infinite. I cut back a bit too.

Next up was Sea of Thieves with 155hrs but I don’t play that any more.

Top 5% for hours played (989), gamerscore (21,214), and achievements (824). Played 84 games in total and my most played game was Vampire survivors with 167 hours clocked. Not surprised by that as I couldn’t put that game down. Can’t wait for the new content and story mode to be added. That number is only gonna go up.

I’m happy they finally made a good end of the year wrap. Lasts year’s sucked but this is better than the one I got from Sony today.

Its saying i played for over 500 hours, but i dont think that can be even close to accurate. Does it also include time spend streaming netflix etc?

I probably play around 6 hours a week tops, at times way less than that for weeks at a time.

Definitely doesn’t include streaming content like Netflix. My number would be 3-5 times what it is if that was included.

Well I played Xbox more than Playstation and the Streets of Rage collection was my third most played game. Overall Forza Horizon 5 was top, I played Starfield way more but that was on Steam

Goat Simulator was "my" most played game of 2023 🤦‍♂️. Actually it was my little guy who racked up those hours. My 2 most played were starfield and sea of stars. 460hrs total for the year.

@RIghteousNixon it’s strange then, as for me it doesn’t seem to be accurate at all. It also says my no 1 played game and my no3 played game are both the same game

Ps5 time 582hrs, but I feel like I’ve done more than that as some of the timers aren’t matching.

Only 33 hours played on my PS5 this year.
Starfield was double that alone on Xbox.
So far Xbox play time way ahead.
Will have to see my Switch one when it releases.
It will be close between Xbox and Switch.

Compared to my PS4 days and first year of PS5 my PlayStation time has dropped loads and my Xbox has increased loads.

I think I've played most on Xbox this year, but probably only played 2 games. Powerwash simulator and Starfield, but mainly because they are both massive time sinks. Played much wider range of games on PS5 but for not as long. Switch only managed Zelda time this year. Really ready for the next switch release and really hope they make the games backward compatible.

My most played game was Gears 5 at 189 hours! Not bad for a game that came out in 2019.

I only unlocked one achievement in it though, being Legendary Operator, which has been unlocked by 0.56% of players... 😊

The Callisto Protocol - the fact that my save file got deleted about 4 - 6 hours into the game certainly helped boost this number higher as I had to replay the game.

My number one game is Elden Ring (175 hours) - for a second year in a row. Very likely will be my number one next year too for a third year in a row as Shadow of the Erdtree DLC releases!

Farming up Rewards points in idle Age of Empires lobbies via the ‘Play with friends on PC’ quest has messed up my statistics somewhat, so I don’t know what my number two and three ranked games were. At a guess Remnant 2 would probably be second place, I played that game a lot this year.

When I deduct all the idle time from Age of Empires lobbies that definitely shouldn’t count then I get a total of 707 hours played this year on Xbox.

Xbox has been the main system for me this year with 660h, although spent some really good times with the switch and the PS4 too.

Top 3 most played in Xbox was P4G, Ni No Kuni and Vampire Survivors with 70, 50, 50 ish hours on each respectively. A good year of gaming

Didn't seem to track correctly for me. It is missing at least half of the games i have played. Starfield was missing even though it is by far my most played.

It seems to have only tracked my pc xbox app and not my series x or s. So it has my Halo data but not much else

Nice to see a few others got sucked into Vampire Survivors. Such a simple looking game with incredible depth. Can’t recommend it enough for anyone in here that hasn’t picked it up yet. Just a brilliant brilliant game.

I don't know where Xbox is getting these numbers from, but they're utter bull. Says I've played 108 hours of Forza Motorsport, when I've played 56 hours. Says I've played 39 hours of Rage 2, when I've played 19 hours. And so on.

188 hours this year. I rarely get to use my Xbox, and it shows. Lol

But 52 of those hours were on Starfield, so I have gotten some quality time in on that game.

Side note: How are people sharing the entire screen? Is that a PC-only thing?

My time was almost evenly split between my Xbox and PS, and I played more this year than ever before (one of my kids is off at college, and the other is at an age where hanging out with Dad has little remaining appeal. This makes me sad, but I figured my playtime would spike this year). My shame is: 202 hours in Starfield. (Gritted teeth emoji here) I know a lot of folks had issues with it, which is fine, but I REALLY liked it. Maybe too much!

I would say about 50 of those hours was playing the game with my youngest son, who just had his own save file to build outposts which he really enjoyed. And that was time very well spent.

My second most played game was Eastward, with far fewer hours. It is funny, because those games could not be more different.

Seems accurate for me 389 hours with 126 of those on Borderlands as I was trying to 100% it but stuck at 70% then Borderlands 2 with 69 hours and Dicey Dungeon at third with 29.

@TheCrafter1578 I likely wracked up 70% of that in September (coral island is new). That being said I usually let the system shut off after an hour so that number is inflated.

Pretty busy year on Xbox (and PC with death stranding) however I believe perfect dark is not accurate as I feel it was at most a 20-30h playthrough.

I have 172 hours in Starfield....... I think 40 of those might have been me actually falling asleep while playing.....😁

Outriders I had 113, freaking loved that game.

Also weird I'm sure I I put a good few hours into Bond and I'm not seeing it.

My ps5 has been lonely this year , Tiny Tina and Black Ops

My Steam Deck got a ton of attention this year

Totally surprised by my top 3 - Geometry Wars Retro Evolved (which I rediscovered this year) - 408 hours, XCOM 2 - 115 hours and Sudden Strike 4 - 96 hours.

Similar to others, I’m apparently top 10% for hours, then top 5% for both GS and achievements, even though I don't feel like I’ve played that much this year as been trying to get out more IRL…

I own all three console platforms, this was definitely a year dominated by Nintendo gaming for me. TOTK and Mario Wonder getting a lot of my attention. I spent more time at TOTK than I did playing all games combined on PS.
Expecting that to change next year now I have the Portal and will have a lot more time to play.

Apparently I have only played 2 games on my PS5 this year, as it has me playing only Horizon Forbidden West 1and Ratchet & Clank. I have difficulty believing that I beat HFW in just 24 hours as I'm one of those that goes everywhere and does everything. I feel it would have taken me considerably longer than 24 hours.

I have also put around 500 hours into Baldur's Gate 3 on my PC.

It's been a fantastic year for gaming...

YouTube was my most played game/app. Depressing. I do have 705 hours on Street Fighter 6, but that's on PS5.

Interesting, my son games on my xbox account, and my total time and most played seems to have included his Minecraft for Nintendo (linked to the MS account). Minecraft was top played, and Switch version was 3rd. Taking away his total minecraft time across both platforms, it seems I put in 110 hours on Marvel's Midnight Suns 🌞 as my most played. All of our xbox gaming combined, 724 hours

@Fiendish-Beaver for your total games played, do you click into games on cloud for rewards? My guess is that is what is driving mine so high. It showed over 100 for me, and it seems high, even though I do a lot of checking out GP titles for an hour or less if they seemed interesting, and definitely do the quick open (usually via cloud) to satisfy the weekly rewards

Sadly, doesn’t work properly. My most played game is indeed FH5 but shows only 735/2500 GS on that game while its GS has been completed after every update. Also got that 5% thing.
Nice gimmick but I wish it was more accurate and I also would like to know how they come to these results in the first place?
I even got a new problem, my GS is staying on 0% in DEC, while completed the Spirit game on GPU. It has worked fine the whole year and didn’t change any settings.

@Kaloudz It's an app that holds loads of games and you stream them from the app, you can also stream them to Twitch etc

I don't use Cloud at all, @RentedPanda, other than games automatically saving there. I know one of the games it shows is a game that I clicked on whilst deciding what to play, but got no further than the menu. Also, I'm not sure whether it is supposed to show you every game that you have played, but it only shows a total of 17 games for me, and that includes the game I clicked on but didn't play. 16/17 games sounds much more likely.

The only other reason I can think of for saying 58 games is if you include games you have purchased (but did not play). That would perhaps explain it as I do buy a lot of games and my backlog is horrendous...

Switch had a fantastic year for me as you can see from the above.
I will say however I think Nintendo have left Switch 2 too late. My analysis shows the last two months apart from Mario Wonder has Series x above Switch. But of course not for the whole year as seen above.
Switch 2 with new games should have either released this November 2023 or latest March 2024.
Sales in the Switch console apart from Japan are showing this as well.
So my analysis is showing a sharp move in hours played to series x for later in 2023.
If I invest more in Xbox eco system the move will take me further away from Switch and if Switch 2 is not out until maybe October 2024, it could be hard for Nintendo to get me back into its eco system.
Big mistake Nintendo if later than March 2024 for Switch 2.

Doubtful of it's accuracy considering it got how many Achievements I had unlocked in a game wrong. And it's not like it was recent, last one I got for that game was in early July. IDK how you mess that up.

As expected my big 3 were Fortnite, Star Trek Online, and Starfield. With Fortnite having a comfortable lead.

Kinda cool that it still updates. The Playstation one does not. Embarrassingly Powerwash Simulator is my number 2 game. I could not stop!
