Honestly was half assed by Microsoft to release a "new" app missing 50% of the features of the old app. Glad to see they are starting to being things back but the store is the main feature missing. Unbelievable they would take away a method to collect money from people...

@UltimateOtaku91 the point of that quote is going back almost 20 years to the formation of Xbox Live which revolutionized online connectivity for consoles. It's a huge reason why Xbox 360 dominated much of that generation. Because Microsoft invested in building out Xbox Live, Sony was forced to answer and now it's expected that these consoles are going to have a strong network platform for stable multiplayer, etc. So in that regards, Microsoft is absolutely a leader in the console space regardless of overall unit sales.

Honestly at this point I've just written Square off. Blatant disregard for Xbox has really soured me on them. With that said, these exclusivity deals has killed my interest in Sony as well. That's not stated lightly, I currently have roughly 40 physical PS4 games on my shelf and likely 25 digital (not PS+).

Anyway.. I see this news and have to assume it won't apply to Xbox at all. Well be seeing Sony hype more Square titles only available on PS5 in the near future.

@alpha5099 I snagged Witcher 3 GOTY edition during Black Friday sale for like $15. It's funny that I pre-ordered it on PS4 years ago, started it twice on PlayStation but never got very far. Now I have about 80 hours into on Xbox and realize I'm barely checking out GP titles.

@Spaceman-Spiff I would assume Respawn has multiple teams. Got a team supporting Apex Legends and the team that made SW Jedi Fallen Order. I thought I read there was a team working on something unannounced as well.
Truthfully tho, you'd need the Apex team involved as they are the FPS experts. But Apex is now the cash cow and who is going to pull talent from that team to make a 3rd TF which historically have performed as well as us fans think it should have?

Honestly EA f@cked Titanfall 2 when they released it between Call of Duty and Battlefield. If TF2 had released in say March, I think it could have had legs and succeeded. Getting lost between the 2 biggest FPS games in the industry was criminal. 😡

This isn't my genre, but I'd still love to see KI get an update. Considering how recent SF got gated to PlayStation, this would be a good feather in the cap for Xbox I'd they revisited the franchise.

@xMightyMatt14x I've sunk a ton of hours into Skyrim and would personally recommend it over F4. There will of course be plenty of people that would recommend the opposite. Regardless, I'm a little jealous right now. I clearly remember the feeling of entering that game world for the first time and would love to have that sense of wonder again. 😄

@alpha5099 that's what I'm playing this weekend. Just finished chapter 6 which feels like I should be solidly 1/2 way. My goal to play them all in 2021 😁

@Mamabear I liked Call of the Sea but there are a couple puzzles that are very frustrating about 2/3 through. I'll admit to resorting to YouTube to figure one of them out. Very cool Lovecraftian vibes and some direct call outs to Cthulhu Mythos if your in to that sort of thing.

Played through Donut County last night. Easy 1000 GS for those into that. Game is actually very fun with a bit of Katamari Damacy vibes. Pretty solid humor throughout too. Definitely recommend for a maybe 3 hour diversion from more serious games.

I still see some content creators slipping on the name and referring to One X when they mean Series X. This is a self inflicted wound by Microsoft. Honestly feel like they should have pulled an Apple move and went with Xbox and Xbox Digital. Clean and simple.

I'm not played GTAV on a 3rd generation of console. While the online component appears to continually be improved, it didn't hook me early on when I tried it. Sony buying timed exclusivity for an online game that should allow cross platform play further lessens any desire I'd have to go back and try it out now.

I started playing Witcher 3 for the 3rd time a few days after cyberpunk released. I'm now much farther along into it than I've ever been and loving it on XSX. So first NYR is to really consume that game and all the DLC that I've heard is fantastic.

2nd will be to play RDR2 which I've had for over a year.
3rd is to play Trails of Cold Steel 2-4 on PS4. Played through the first and loved it. Got 2/3 sitting on my shelf.
4th - if CDPR gets cyberpunk next gen patch out and everything is running well, that will be on the list too.

I figure that's about 500 hours. Sprinkle in some gems from GamePass and I'm set for the year.

Lot of assumptions that Forza Horizon 5 is going to come out in 2021 and I just don't see where that's coming from. Forza Motorsport is a ways off it seems, 2022 earliest my guess, and Playground is working on Fable. Does playground have multiple teams now? If Horizon 5 was close enough to launch this year, I'd have to think Xbox would be hinting at it to build some hype. This generation is starting with the perception that Xbox still doesn't have games. Doesn't make sense to not try and silence that nonsense if one of your biggest 1st party titles is going to be ready this year.

@KelticDevil I watched that reveal with a big grin on my face. Game play looked awesome and fun. Watched it a second time and noticed some of the graphic issues and did think it was a bit underwhelming in that department. It's a shame it had to be delayed but I think they realize now this game needs to be a 9 out of 10 or better.

Personally I wish they would announce it is next gen only and jettison any baggage that Xbox One has to be bringing to it.

Xbox app will not show me Cyberpunk 2077. If I search for it, it shows up, but selecting it results in a message that nothing could be found. Has been like this for me since Saturday. 😭

From OG Xbox I'd love to see Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. I still own it physically but no way to play it any longer. Really great horror game.

Was it confirmed that you could transfer a character from 360 to PS4? I thought I had read that but now I'm not so sure.

I have Raiden Fighter Aces for 360 and it's a fun schmup. I always liked the Raiden series so I'm hoping a new one would make a western release. Wish they would bring out a new Gradius game too.

@EternalDragonX Count me as one of them. I bought a PS4 specifically to play Destiny and have no regrets. Game is fun, looks great and has amazing music as expected from a company with the pedigree of Bungie. I easily put in 8 hours of time during the Xbox One beta which almost made things worse.. the wait this past month for the release was just brutal.

I loved this game and should really sit down and give it another play through. If I recall correctly this came out for the first Summer of Arcade XBLA promotion. That year had a ton of great games if memory serves correct but this was by far my favorite!

I actually can't really disagree with him. His analogy to chess or checkers is appropriate. I wouldn't consider a chess match to be a sporting event but it is a competition. End of the day, it's all semantics.

I guess I'm in the minority then in that I really liked the Xbox One interface. I won't knock it till I try it.. but I'm finding these mass interface updates a bit annoying after you've really gotten used to the previous interface.

@Gamer83 Shadow Complex is easily my favorite XBLA title for 360. It's almost criminal that there has not been a follow-up to that game.

I do like this table but not as much as some of the other Marvel or Star Wars tables. Completely agree with the assessment about the 4 ball frenzy at the start of the game not really adding much other than a minute of insanity lol. Maybe there is a way to unlock some mega jackpot during this time, but if so, I certainly haven't seen it and usually only manage to get a score in the mid 100,000's range.

I would also agree that the voice acting while decent, is a detraction without the actors who played the part in the movie. I understand that's an expense that would probably never be made back by Zen on sales of a $2.99 table.. It's not as jarring as some of the Star Wars voice overs though. One of those has an absolute hack trying to sound like either Luke Skywalker or Han Solo (I forget which atm).

@Emanouel I'm not familiar with Future Shop.. appears to be Canadian though? That sounds like a great deal if you can basically get 3 games for the price of 2 by pre-ordering. I'd certainly jump all over that!

This was the first NHL game I had intended to buy for myself in a few years. My son usually picks them up every year. With this news though, I'm not so sure I will get it now. I honestly don't even know if they are modes I'd play, but it doesn't seem worth paying full price to get a partial experience compared to last gen versions of the game

@Kohaku Did they adjust the prices or the credits earned for races? Just curious what changed.

Judging by what they are doing with Assassin's Creed Rogue (360) and Unity (Xbone) I like how they are handling things. New gen systems should get a game built specifically for it instead of being compromised to make it work on the older console. I just wish Rogue was the game coming to Xbox One as it looks much better to me than Unity.

I'll be real curious to see how long true support lasts for 360. PS2 hung around with new games launching for a very long after PS3 launched.

I owned Forza 5 briefly and wound up selling it off as it was just sitting on the shelf. One thing I will state is the cost to purchase some of the upper tier cars was absolutely ludicrous. Seemed like there were cars that would take dozens of races worth of winnings to afford the natural way, or purchase of tokens with real money that would cost $5 or so dollars a piece. If they fix that in Forza Horizon 2 so it's not so insane.. I'll be happy.

@SuperKMx Well for giggles I did start broadcasting some Pinball FX2 last night. I don't know a lot about using Twitch to broadcast but the whole time it put a smallish grey box near the bottom that showed the channel name and that I had no viewers. Unfortunately this was directly over the flipper area and was in no way conducive to playing pinball. LOL. Maybe that message can be disabled? It was getting late and I didn't bother looking into it as I was only going to play a couple minutes anyway.

Anyway, if anyone plays Pinball and wants to add me to their friends list feel free.. my gamertag is Generik420. That game is much more fun when you have high scores to compete against other people!

I wish I was good enough at games to broadcast them for others to watch.. lol

@SunnyShores Totally agree. I love how differently one map can play from another. I typically like to use the Stryder titan and some maps really work for just sticking to the edges and funneling damage to the mid-section of the map. Other maps twist and turn so much that there really is no 'edge' and those maps I usually will go with a heavier titan.

Awesome! I got it set to download when I get home tonight. Be nice to have a go to game on Xbone when you only have 5-10 minutes free.. or 3 hours lol.

I bought the season pass and overall I'm not disappointed. Seems a shame that the game is only going to get a total of 9 DLC maps total. I am sure they are working on Titanfall 2 as we speak but considering it hasn't been officially revealed (as far as I know), it seems this is an early termination of major support.

I'm still much more likely to just purchase via the console or website, especially with the preloading that's coming very soon. But I would fully expect Amazon getting involved in this area will result in better digital pricing, especially on games that are no longer 'new'. There have been plenty of times I almost purchased an older game digitally and stopped because I knew I could save $5-15 by going and getting it used at Gamestop. Even older games unused are cheaper at a retail outlet than digitally in most cases and that's what I hope will come to an end with this announcement.

I still think it should not have the Battlefield name in it. They could have easily just called this Hardline and made a new franchise and then advertised that it uses the Frost Engine. Game looks like it could be decent though.

This sounds pretty cool! I actually played LA Noire using the B&W setting once I realized it was there and thoroughly loved the experience. Hopefully this game lives up to expectations.

Man that is AMAZING news! Geometry Wars was great.. Geometry Wars 2 was quite possibly the perfect XBL title to ever release. I can't stress how much time I spent trying to eke out another few thousand points to beat someone on my friends list in one mode or another. Can't wait for more GW!

That special edition console looks pretty sweet. I'm curious to hear what others thought of the footage of the CoD campaign shown during Gamescon? I was extremely letdown by what I saw and if anything have officially relegated this to a wait for deep discount purchase. I personally found the driving section to look extremely uninspired, like Need for Speed with more explosions and much less realism in terms of car physics. I also liked (sarcasm) how this high speed segment ends in the car flipped and when the soldiers get out, they are now standing in a a massive traffic jam that felt static... All that along with brainless AI standing on top of semi-trucks and not utilizing any cover.

I know that game is designed for the online play nowadays, but CoD multiplayer just hasn't been for me since MW2, and right now the single player experience looks to be no better than last gen, and in some ways to me, worse. Curious if anyone else felt similar?

I wish the white model had been available at launch. I totally would have purchased it. Now it's too late. Does look great though! I wonder if they will ever make a white Kinect sensor?
