It seems like an eternity ago that Biomutant got announced by THQ Nordic, but we finally have a solid release date of May 25th, 2021. There's no news on any next-gen enhancements, but the game will be available on Xbox One - and on Xbox Series X|S through backwards compatibility. More information is promised over the next few weeks.

For those that don't know, Biomutant is a brand new IP, billed as an open-world, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG. As the title suggests, the world is filled with mutants, but the hook is that it's a world run by animals instead of humans.

Along with completing quests and making a name for yourself in the unique world, the combat will feature a variety of melee, shooting, and mutant abilities. It certainly looks different and we're excited to see what the new IP can bring.

To coincide with today's announcement, two special (and expensive!) collector's editions have been listed for pre-order over at the Biomutant website, featuring dioramas, figurines, artwork, soundtracks and much more.
