So should I go for it? I absolutely adored Death Stranding (spend 250 hours with it) and haven’t played anything else by Kojima. If MGS has the same sort of creativity and absurdity I’m in. It should still be playable though.

@HotGoomba It gives you time to still play them though. Once you get the official notification it’s too late.

Is there a big chance High on Life will be removed? Might have to pause my Starfield run for it, which I’d rather not.

@OldGamer999 I understand your point, but why mention Starfield? It had a pretty solid release as far as I know? It still crashes quite a lot, but that seems more like a fundamental thing (their engine) opposed to releasing an unfinished game.

@Mephisto2869 Is there a (small) risk that way that you lose all your progress? I mean if the game crashes right between deleting the existing save games and creating a new one?

@themightyant Thanks! I’m not going to risk anything messing with my saves then, if it probably won’t help. Let’s hope they fix the dealing with large save files in a future update.

I give a clear 10/10. 130 hours in, I’ve barely touched any main missions and still my overall missions to play list is growing and growing. Usually I’d be long bored by a game after so many hours, but I still feel I’m only starting to discover all the facets of the game yet. Right now I’m learning how to upgrade my ships, but I feel like I’m a long way from building one myself.

I wonder if I’m even going to complete the game in 2023.

PS. My only complaint are the many hard crashes and freezes. Lately I’m having around two of them per session.

Metacritic has zero meaning for me and I hoped this list would be about exclusives, so I could check if I missed any crucial GP releases.

For me it’s not even close this year. Starfield is a solid 10/10 while I couldn’t even tell which game is my number 2. I’m 140 hours in and not even touching the main campagne because I don’t want to end this journey.

Dead Space! In the same month as The Callisto Protocol is added to PS Plus. Is it my birthday already?

@Darylb88 How would you rate the durability of career mode (single player) from your first impressions? Does Forza seem to stay interesting for longer than GT7 did?

@FatalBubbles That’s just personal. It’s my first Bethesda title and easily one of my all time favorite games.

Easily 10/10. As a PS gamer I bought a Series X solely for this game and it was worth every euro. I’m about 90 hours in and still solely doing side missions and random exploring to stretch it as long as possible.

@themcnoisy I don’t know. All I know is that I don’t pay even close to that amount, since I used the “convert Gold to GP option” Microsoft offers.

@themcnoisy Fair point as well. I wouldn’t mind that scenario too much though. It would mean I can still play AAA games within a month of release date against a ridiculously low price. Plus, if an early access deal comes with a physical element such as the Starfield steelbook it makes it extra interesting for me.

Why do people whine so much? Why does it matter if it’s called “early access” or “release date”? Just pay if you can’t wait or don’t pay if you can wait. I couldn’t care less whether others can play it now while I wait 5 more days.

@Cikajovazmaj How is the single player content for GT7 nowadays? I sold it about a month after release. After I was finished with the licenses and menus there didn’t seem to be a lot left to do for someone who’s not interested in multiplayer. Has this gotten better?

Damn, this seems to be exactly what I was hoping it wouldn’t be. The big problem I have with GT7 is its ridiculously short single player mode and now that one looks good compared to FM?

So disappointed. I bought a Series X next to my PS5 for Starfield (that one did deliver, luckily) but had FM in the back of my mind all the time. Now I’ll probably have to re-buy GT7, since I hear it has gotten better over the year content wise.

Totally off-topic, but I think this website hasn’t mentioned yet that Gotham Knights is coming to GP next week? Personally I see it as a pretty big deal.

Nope, I’d never pay for early access. I bought the Starfield upgrade edition but only because it included a steelbook and I wanted something physical for such a game.

Definitely looking forward to Forza though!

Starfield. I just can’t see myself playing anything else for the foreseeable future, except for some Forza Motorsport. My expectations were ridiculously high and I even bought a Series X for this game (my first ever Xbox) and still I’m overwhelmed.

To say I’m hooked is an understatement. I’ve never longed this much to dive into a game time and time again. Now at roughly the 70 hour mark I’m not even really doing any missions, just wandering around and enjoying everything I come across.

Definitely my all time favorite game already.

What does Pure Xbox think of it though? Where’s the review? Seems especially strange since your sister site did write a (5/10) review.

@BrilliantBill I'm definitely no expert in this field but I was thinking the same. Isn't 60 fps especially beneficial in quick action games? Racing games deal with rather slow movements, so I wonder if you will even notice the difference between 30 and 60 fps.

I can't see this game ever getting old. There's just so much to do and discover. Everyone can make it their own journey, I love all the freedom you get to find your way.

I hope Scorn won’t be among them. It’s still in my backlog, but I won’t see me playing anything else than Starfield and Forza Motorsport in the coming months.

Starfield. Only starting to scratch on the surface and I love that. I don’t want this game to end for a very long time.

@trev666 Totally off-topic and not trying to be a smart ass, but is “should of” wrong or is it correct English as a substitute for “should have”? I’m not native, so I’m not totally sure. It sounds wrong but I read it a lot.

Thanks! I don’t feel lost, just soaking up everything bit by bit since I know I’ll stick around for months at least. Still it seems like a good thing to do early in the game.

But even just roaming around a planet scanning things feels adventurous enough. For Skyrim (never really played it) they said there is no wrong approach to the game and with Starfield it feels the same already.

This afternoon my copy (upgrade edition Series X) arrives. As a big space enthousiast I've never been this stoked for a game in my life. I almost find it too intimidating to make the most out of it, if that makes sense. Like, I want to experience every detail of the universe and don't want to take a wrong approach that makes me miss things. I'm fully committed to play this game for the rest of the year at least.

Wow, that’s disappointing. I was already refreshing the site. Must be disappointing for the writer(s) as well, since most will be playing the game already before the review is there.

Going to play tomorrow. Bought the premium upgrade edition because of the steelbook, so I have something physical to hold. The early access is a nice bonus.

Yes, I owned all PlayStations and bought my first Xbox (Series X) last February for Starfield. So far it wasn’t worth it next to my PS5 but things will definitely change from this week.

I just want to take all the time it needs to fully experience this. If that means 6 months of solely playing this game that’s totally fine by me. Can’t wait to get completely lost in this!

I’m not hating, I want this to be a great game. Gran Turismo 7 looks way better so far, though?
