Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 9-10)

Really great game.

After beating Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty and Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara on my Ps3 this week and A Short Hike and Gris on my Xbox Series X this week I started Playing Starfield on my Xbox Series X and continued playing Ace Attorney: Justice for All on my Switch.

Once I’m done with those I’m thinking about playing Firewatch, TOEM and God of War: Ghost of Sparta.

Most of my time this weekend is dedicated to Starfield. In-between some Samba De Amigo on Switch. What a blast that game is.

Starfield - its a good game and Im enjoying it but there are some issues. It really is fallout in space, not a bad thing but feels like a reskin basically (not really, bit harsh that maybe). Feels like I’ll play the main missions and bigger side missions but then move on to other games. Oblivion, Skyrim and Fallout 3 I’ve played so many times, but Fallout 4 only once and probably the same with Starfield. Feels like Bethesda needs to change things for the next Elder Scrolls or it might not be all that good.

I wish I'd more time to play other games but I'm consumed by Starfield even BG3 is on hiatus for few weeks at least. Hopefully Larian can do something with Act 3 in the meantime as it's holding back the game for me.

@hypnotoad I never got it on Dreamcast and regret it to this day. The switch game plays remarkably well.

I’m unfortunately sick with Covid, so I don’t know how much energy I have for gaming, but I am solely playing Sea of Stars on the PS5. I thought the hype of Starfield and Baulder’s Gate 3 would sway me to put it aside, but alas, the game has its daggers hooked in me quite deep.

It amazes me how the game continues to evolve and get better every hour of playtime. It’s hard not to be charmed due to the engaging characters (Garl, ftw!), and there are so many surprises, particularly with the gameplay and story. The game is expertly paced. You’re constantly doing something new, and nothing outstays its welcome. And then, there are specific references to The Messenger that has me grinning from ear to ear.

Let’s not forget the soundtrack, which is superb. Even my wife, who doesn’t play video games and always wants me to use a headset, was captivated by the score. That says a lot.

I find this game to be an utter masterpiece. This feeling is bolstered by the incredible sales the game has reached — 250k — despite being on PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass. It goes to show that if you make a really solid game, people will buy it. This is what the industry needs.

Am still playing Starfield. I will probably be saying that for a long while given how much is in it.

Currently experimenting with ship building & outposts just to see what I can come up with.

Ship building is a bit fiddly & frustrating due to the ui but I am making it work. Outposts are a bit easier to work with (using the overhead view helps). Outposts have a lot of potential ways you can put one together. From pure home away from home, industrial mining / tech complex or research station & many more I expect.

I also download BF 2042 just so I can have a bit of mindless action without thinking about stories or consequences.

This weekend I´ll will be mostly playing Starfield on my Series X and Street Fighter 6 on my PS5, since I´ll be leaving town for a week.
Wich means I´ll be all over my Switch and Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
And once I return it will be MORTAL KOMBAT 1 (Cue the techno music MK theme).
Still need to check Sea of Stars and Baldurs Gate 3.
What a time to be a gamer. It´s almost to much. Almost.

From what I´ve seen and heard so far, Sea of Stars looks like an amazing love letter to old school rpgs, wich is fantastic.
And if the game have references to Sabotage other great game, The Messenger, then it´s even better.

Just rolled credits on Quantum Break and I'm finishing up the alternate paths on a Injustice 2. Then I'm doing a pallet cleanser with Planet of Lana or HiFi Rush before I start MK11 finally. Take that backlog!!!

I've been all over the map with games so I am trying to pick a few and stick with them to the end. XSX it is Sea of Stars and wrapping up the battle pass on Exoprimal (still enjoying greatly).
For the Switch I've been playing Everybody Loves Golf in handheld mode.

I also started livestreaming over the Xbox because of how easy they made it. I'm not trying to be famous just playing around. It's fun so far. They did a great job with the ease of use for a super amateur.

Starfield. Only starting to scratch on the surface and I love that. I don’t want this game to end for a very long time.

Starfield. There are a lot of little things about it that I'm not particularly enjoying (too many junk items, too many loading screens, teleportation tedium), and I don't find the gameplay to be very much fun so far to be honest (feel like I cant free myself from sitting in menus), but it's getting a little better as I keep playing and understanding what the game wants out of me. I'm still learning how it works. I've never played a Bethesda game before.

@PJOReilly Now you are at the NG+ stage of Starfield what do you think of that mode?

For me it's interesting to try but I haven't really seen anything all that worthwhile for the trade off you make.

Unless I missed something it's essentially seems to be a bit of new dialogue, some slightly stronger gear & powers but not much beyond that.

It's clever the way it's set up but I would rather keep all the things I collected rather than throw away for slightly better stats.

On Xbox it'll be Starfield for the foreseeable future loving it so far. On PS5 I'm going to hopefully start Dead Space and play more of Sniper Elite 5 not really enjoying this one as much because it seems to push you into more cqc.

Playing the space game, what's it called again?....Lego Skywalker saga, that's the one. Find it quite relaxing after a day of work. Close to completing Kirby and the forgotten land too.

Starfield on Series X, PC Game Pass and Steam.

I have a lot of good stuff sitting in the queue unfinished or never started, too. Every other day I remember a game — RE4, SF6, Dishonored 2...

I bought Diablo 4, Baldur's Gate and Armored Core. Things have been hectic and I've yet to start any of them.

Starfield on Series X. Seven hours in and loving every minute of it. Skyrim and Fallout 3, Vegas and 4 are among my favourite games of all time. Just happy to finally play a new single player Bethesda RPG.

First, I just want to say to any of you gamers out there that are allowed to play games for more then a few hours a week... I am super jealous. With Diablo IV, Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield, and soon Forza Motorsport I am swamped for the rest of this year and well into next. I wish I was back to my younger days where I could pick up a game and play it straight for a few days and declare it done. I will return to those days, just not in this decade. LOL.

Back to the topic though. Diablo IV. Crawling through this campaign meticulously.,

ACA NeoGeo: 3 Count Bout (Windows Store) - I can't seem to really get into this, which is a shame considering how much I love wrestling.

I WAS going to start Starfield, but I've got my hands on the illusive (at least in my country) Yakuza: Dead Souls. So I took out my PS3 and have been playing that. I finished Yakuza 6 a few days ago so... This would be the goodbye to Kiryu for a while.

Starfield played about 18 hours level 14. Ignoring the main mission and enjoying the UC Vanguard missions

Starfield. Logged a stupid amount of time in it already. Around 42 hours. And I still feel like I haven't scratched the surface. Also trying to play more of Sea of Stars on the side.

Starfield. That is going to be my answer for quite some time.

Still haven't opened by Collector's Edition of Starfield (and may not end up doing so), as I am still playing, and loving, Baldur's Gate 3 on my PC. Once I eventually finish BG3, Starfield is next, maybe on the Game Pass, still haven't decided yet...

@mac_da_man it's a good game excellent game it's loading screen after loading screen though that's shockingly bad and the frame rate and loads of other things even with all the faults it has I'm really enjoying it

Playstation - hoping to make some progress on FF7 remake. Not really liking this one and it is just bogging down my ps backlog.

Im going to try and play starfield again, but on pc with better frame rate and larger fov, as well as some items supposed to help with sickness, as I am determined to play it!
Ive bought BG3 as well, as a consellation prize if cant play Starfield 😁 I discovered that PS rewards scheme I took zero notice of, had enough points accumulated in it I could get £30 of store credit, so BG3 was £27. Bargain!

Starfield! Every hour in better than the one before. Oh and the Kids Stuff trait, just keeps getting better as the game goes on! Highly recommend for those about to start the game!

Mostly resi 4 remake and a load of lightgun games. Definitely give starfield a go but not in any hurry to be honest

Downloaded Starfield on Game Pass. I'm not the biggest fan of Elder Scrolls or Fallout but figure if I have GP, might as well give this one a try and see if it clicks.

Played some Starfield and will play more, but Sea of Stars is soooo good. It'll get my time for next few days until I reach the end. About 2/3 through.

Still struggling with Lu Bu in Wo Long (one day dammit) and trying to 100% Gotham Knights ahead of !!!!!MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!! Which will then occupy the vast majority of my gaming time.

Well this weeks a interesting one. Finally after a summer of nothing but early shifts and a general poor composition of balancing gaming and anime I’m finally free on Wednesday of the early shifts. The model store that my job is preparing for starts on Wednesday so when I clock out of work on Tuesday I’ll finally be free and back to gaming all night baby. So obviously it’ll be great to celebrate with Sea of Stars. But that’s not the weekend hahaha. For this weekend I’ll be playing some more Tears Of The Kingdom. It’s so cozy and soothing and relaxing and I’m really just loving it. And also I’ll shoot for some time in Baldurs Gate III. That game really is something special too like it really is on TOTKs scale because man you just feel how good and impressive and insane this game is. Otherwise throughout the week y’all know it’s gonna be the usual rotation of Zelda, Pikmin, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Rain Code. And Baldurs Gate 3, FFXVI, Sea Of Stars, One Piece Odyssey, and SF6. Yep that’s right I beat RE6 and now I’m free to celebrate with SF6 until A.K.I comes out for it later in the month. And do RE7 in October for Halloween. Special shout-out this week goes to the Live Action One Piece on Netflix it’s absolutely excellent and has made me a huge One Piece fan now. Over on the anime front y’all already know the usual. Atelier Ryza, My Tiny Senpai, Liar Liar, Zom 100, Ayaka and Yohane the Parhelion. Summer Anime almost over and man do we have one crazy Fall Anime lineup already. And for Podcasts we keeping it simple with Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into the Aether, Giant Bombcast and Remap Radio. Have a great weekend to everyone and Happy Gaming as always.

Can't wait to get home from work and finally start Starfield! I'm so hyped!
