@PJOReilly I don’t understand Monday afternoon’s article then. It says: “…As a result, we're all going to be jumping in today, and we'll bring you our review ASAP.”
Monday, at the end of the day this site announced it just got its copy of the DLC and were working on a review. How is it possible to deliver a serious review only 25 hours later? Even if the reviewer didn’t sleep in between it seems unlikely he could form a solid opinion AND write an article about it.
Please just take at least a week extra and deliver something good, instead of desperately trying to be the first. I can’t take this seriously.
@abe_hikura I thought the same, but at the third rushed session I already was done with it. It feels quite bland compared to the excellent Arkham games.
The complaining about microtransactions is getting more repetitive than the gameplay. I’ve played some of previous years’ games and never have I found any problems with the transactions. I never paid a penny extra and never had the feeling I was hindered in whatever way.
Besides that, these games are ridiculously cheap anyway after a few months.
I had to drag myself out of it after 250 hours, since my backlog was growing and growing. Wonderful game, I'll definitely give it a second spin sometime after the DLC is out.
These things are inexcusable. When you make such a controversial decision you better make sure there's absolutely no way your game becomes unavailable. It happening on release day makes it extra painful and hopefully it serves as a lesson for other studios that are considering this approach.
Still Sea of Stars on Game Pass, still loving every second of it! The battle system is so addictive and the dialogues and movements turn a smile on my face every time.
@Stamnoso Will do! And mindset can indeed also change the feeling you have with a game. Sometimes I just feel too rushed to absorb a game. Other times the game simply isn’t for me. Luckily we have no shortage of games to play nowadays.
This is getting annoying. I don't have a lot of time to game. After this same topic of last month I quickly started playing Sea of Stars, which eventually wasn't removed (yet). I'm not even halfway through that game and now another two games on my backlog (Lies of P and Cocoon) are mentioned. Would be a shame to miss out on them, but I won't even finish Sea of Stars before the end of this month.
@Nightcrawler71 I bought it last year. Owned it on disc around the time it was released and bought it digitally this time to revisit it after 10 years. Not that strange actually if you only owned a physical copy for a console from the past.
@StylesT Those shouldn’t be the two options. They should release it in time AND in a good state. They always say they want to release it in as good a state as possible when announcing a delay, but it’s just a fancy way of saying they missed the deadline.
@TheCrafter1578 It’s basically the same as for Deliver us the Moon: fun little inbetween game with decent stories and engaging puzzles. Nice games to keep you busy for a week. After that they’ll soon be forgotten.
I have another two years left for Ultimate. Is it possible to top it up with another year? Or has that option gone already (I did something like buying a Turkish games with gold sub and transforming it into GPU)?
I’m 40 and playing way, way more than when I was in my twenties. It really became my go-to hobby during covid, since I couldn’t focus on watching movies any more. It sticked with me since then.
Resident Evil 1 remake. I’m surprised at how well it holds up, it’s just a really good game. The controls and fixed cameras are difficult to get used to though.
@Fiendish-Beaver Thanks for that! I considered it already, but was held back because I did the same with Halo (starting with the first one since I never played any), but couldn’t get into such an old game I have no nostalgic feelings with.
After emptying my PS Plus backlog (sub expired) now it’s Xbox time for the coming months. I’m still a relative newbee, since I bought my Series X last year for Starfield having never owned a Xbox before. So lots to discover with my Game Pass sub.
Perhaps I’ll start with my Resident Evil Run (1, 2, 3, 4R, 7, 8). Or Gears 5, having never played the series.
I already bought the physical version of TCP for PS5 for € 4,99 in a major store in the Netherlands. Ridiculous price. Still have to play it, but I have high hopes.
Little review of the review; I think Pure Xbox’s writers often overcomplicate their writing. As a non-native my English is quite good, but it’s really hard to tell what the conclusion (didn’t read the rest because I’m wary of spoilers) of this review actually means.
Bought my Series X because of Starfield. I already had a PS5 and also had the PSX, PS2, PS3 and PS4 before, but I simply had to play Starfield (and wasn’t disappointed).
At the moment I’m not playing my XSX because I’m emptying my PS Plus backlog before I let it expire this July. From then on I’ll be playing a lot of Game Pass on it, while keeping my PS5 as my go to console for non-Xbox exclusives. The main reason is the dualsense controller, it’s just way ahead of the Xbox controller.

Remnant II could still be deleted, but in November, right?

Re: Here's What Players Are Saying About Starfield Shattered Space So Far
Of it is as good as the main game I’ll spend a lot of hours into it. And I’m surprised to find it’s free for me.
Now only to find some time… I still have a backlog of 28 games.
Re: Five Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Early October 2024
So I’ll quickly have to play Scorn which has been on my backlog for ages. Luckily it seems like this game should be beatable in one weekend.
Edit: Already quit. Terrible game. Don’t feel like walking around identical rooms all evening at 1 km/h without having a clue what to do.
Re: Here's What's Included In The Xbox September 2024 Update
@acmiguens That’s what I heard. I assume Sony finds it worth it to pay Apple/Google royalties for the transactions they receive.
Re: Reminder: Nine Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass This Weekend (September 30)
@abe_hikura I thought the same, but at the third rushed session I already was done with it. It feels quite bland compared to the excellent Arkham games.
Re: Here's What's Included In The Xbox September 2024 Update
@SodaPop6548 I understand they don’t want this because if they turn the app into a store they will have to give Apple a portion of the earnings.
Re: 10 Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Late September 2024
@GhanaViking As in 2 hour sessions or so?
Re: 10 Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Late September 2024
Damn, I don’t think I’ll be able to finish Gotham Knights in time. I haven’t started yet and can’t game on a daily basis.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 14-15)
I’m still busy with Sea of Stars, obviously. But… I’m almost done! I think I’m in the last level.
Bit of a bittersweet feeling; I really want to dive into my humongous GP backlog, but I’m enjoying this game so much.
Edit: Finished it! Next up: Gotham Knights.
Re: Reminder: Six Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass This Weekend (September 15)
So Gotham Knights is staying after all?

I read as much about the PS5 on this site as on Push Square.

@FraserG Much clearer now!
Re: Xbox Game Pass Standard: Full List Of 369 Games Included At Launch
Confusing article. It reads as if the EA games are included, but I think the opposite is implied.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 31 - September 1)
Sea of Stars. Still.
God, I’m slow.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 24-25)
Still Sea of Stars on Game Pass, still loving every second of it! The battle system is so addictive and the dialogues and movements turn a smile on my face every time.

Up to € 20 for a 6 year old game isn’t that cheap?
Re: Xbox 'End Of Summer' Sale Now Live, 500+ Games Discounted
Is Cult of the Lamb worth it? And does the Unholy Alliance version (of € 12,49) offer the complete base game? The description can be read in two ways.

Re: Here's What Might Be Leaving Xbox Game Pass In September 2024
@Stamnoso It was on last month’s list, so I’m still afraid it might leave anytime now. I find it excellent by the way, also the storytelling.

Re: Talking Point: How Would You Feel If Xbox's Major Fall Release Is Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6?
I have zero interest in those yearly war games. Must have been 15 years since I played one.

Re: Talking Point: How Hyped Are You For Indiana Jones On Xbox Series X|S?
I’m not convinced by the trailers yet. It looks okay, but I have no clue how the gameplay will be and that will be the deciding factor.
Re: Three Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Late July 2024
@Mamabear Yeah, that’s right. That’s why I thought I should hurry, but I guess that’s not needed anymore.
Re: Three Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Late July 2024
Does this mean Sea of Stars will stay on GP? In that case I won’t rush it.
Re: Lots Of Games Are Reduced By 90% On Xbox This Week (July 9-16)
@FraserG Thanks!

Is it a certainty the newest NBA 2K will always be available on GP? 24 is on GP now, but € 6,99 is a steal.

@Scrubchub Thanks, I’ll immediately start playing it when I’ve finished Resident Evil HD. It’s been on my backlog for a long time.
