I’ve met some wonderful people at Microsoft who have a direct impact on the company’s internal culture. This impact needs to find its way to their subsidiaries.

With the age of this game and number of releases this game has seen, not offering a free upgrade for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners is a travesty.

Adam Conover’s rant was ridiculous. I am starting to understand Microsoft’s logic that Xbox, Nintendo, and PlayStation all play a significant role that should be preserved in the face of Meta, Google, Apple, Amazon, etc. Maybe I’m wrong? I don’t know.

My Xbox + Nintendo combination has kept me happy for years.

I don’t see MS buying a Japanese studio or Nintendo due to the very valid reasons above, but I do see them skipping through fields of flowers hand in hand with Nintendo in an alternate timeline maybe.

It’s not often I have nice things to say about an executive, but Phil just seems so down to earth all things considered. He’s made Xbox feel like home.

I’m worried for Nintendo on the hardware front with the Switch heading into obsolescence during a chip shortage and supply chain struggle. I don’t know how they will effectively manufacture a new device. Does that open the unthinkable up? Am I being an alarmist? I mean… not gonna lie, I would love Breath of The Wild 1 & 2 on Series X haha..

I’m sure once the contracts are up, PlayStation will still get things like low budget titles that would also grace Nintendo platforms, but eventually the bread and butter will likely steer clear of the house Sony built.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting people in the past at Microsoft that were a big part of influencing positive workplace culture and I know they put a lot of heart and soul into what they do.

@Somebody Well, the good news is that the people affected by the way she has pivoted her money, influence, and fame do not need your approval to feel any specific way about her actions and can define their experience however they deem appropriate considering that it is their lived experience and not yours. Your definition of what is a “stretch” is narrow at best and irrelevant when stacked against the truth of their experiences.

As far as no one and their opinions being able to cause you misery, that is wonderful for you. I’m glad for you that your experience has not left you feeling the way other people do. If what you say is true, I encourage you to be thankful for it.

Despite all of it, I appreciate how friendly Nintendo and Microsoft are in practice these days even if the relationship is sometimes more one-sided than it should be. Series X + Switch = ❤️💚

@Magabro A few years back I had the pleasure of meeting a big, diverse crew of Microsoft employees and the impression I had was pretty positive. I would be interested to see how their divisions (Bethesda comes to mind) behave.

I really hope this is patched. I skipped this on Switch even though I wanted the portability because I wanted the Xbox Series X’s horsepower and honestly it feels like a lazy switch port even on Xbox.

@LtSarge I would have to agree. I don’t think the values of those two organizations would integrate well.

I loved the original Xbox when it came out. I was early in high school and was a huge Nintendo fan that did not want a PlayStation 2. Xbox was the supplemental console for me back then and it has lasted. Xbox + Nintendo have kept me so incredibly entertained for years. Cheers to the Xbox team for making it happen. I love my Series X!

@Carck I think they were illustrating that since Beyonetta 2 and 3 are Nintendo games exclusively and Nintendo had the rights to the titles, it -might as well- be a Nintendo IP at this point. That being said, I would love more Xbox and Nintendo love. They’re both such innovative powerhouses in this industry.

There are a few things I wish Nintendo would do and putting certain titles they have rights to on Xbox that would benefit from the additional horse power is one of those things.

In all honesty, it’s not Yamauchi’s Nintendo anymore. I would certainly like to see MS and Nintendo be far more collaborative.

I just look at the layout of this thing and then look at the Switch and even handheld Xbox phone attachments and can’t help but be turned off by Steam’s design. It looks like someone combined a Steam controller with the SEGA GameGear then slapped an OLED in the middle.
