I've always been a big fan of the Mario Party games, and Super Mario Party Jamboree is quite easily my most played title on Nintendo Switch, but I've never really been able to find a suitable alternative to enjoy as much on Xbox.

There are definitely a few options out there though, such as the pretty impressive LEGO Party! from last year, and now a brand-new release in the form of Grizzy & The Lemmings: Crazy Party. Yes, it's got a pretty terrible name, and yes, it's based on a children's TV show, but stick with me here - it's actually quite a good Mario Party clone.

The core structure is basically the same as Mario Party, with four Lemmings making their way around a game board in the pursuit of Tokens (Coins in Mario Party) and Yummies (Stars in Mario Party) before playing a minigame at the end of each turn. The main difference here is that there's no specifically-located star to acquire, with Yummies instead being given out in various scenarios such as winning minigames and making it all the way around the board.

What I really like about Grizzy & The Lemmings: Crazy Party is that there's no sign of the developers phoning it in, having implemented five unique and genuinely enjoyable boards along with over 50 minigames to choose from. Each board always has enough going on to keep things interesting, while the minigames are a mixed bag but generally decent on the whole. There's quite a Fuzion Frenzy feel to some of them, and there's certainly a lot of variety on offer.

Is it as good as Mario Party? Definitely not, but that's not to say you won't have some fun and laughs with Grizzy & The Lemmings: Crazy Party on Xbox, and I'm genuinely having an enjoyable time with it so far.

Grizzy just wanted a little peace and quiet... but the Lemmings had other plans! Take control of these unstoppable little troublemakers and turn your living room into a total madhouse: unpredictable mini-games, boards full of surprises, and dirty tricks between friends, every round can flip in seconds. One goal: grab as much Yummy as you can before everyone else, and drive Grizzy up the wall.
