Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Wild Predictions For The Xbox Games Showcase?

sikthvash

I'm thinking they'll start with something like Senua or State of Decay 3, possibly some Everwild footage, then lots of Gamepass additons. Highly doubt we'll see any Perfect Dark as that appears to be in development hell with the loss of so many staff and the Director. I'd be very surprised if we see anything on Fable as I suspect it's still too early in the development cycle. Hopefully we'll see Obsidian's new games in action, possibly some Halo Infiinte & Sea of Thieves additons. Then thrid party wise, maybe Dead Space, Diablo 4, Gotham Knights & Overwatch 2

Re: Scorn Looks As Disgusting As Ever In New Development Update

@ChopperCampbell Amnesia: The Dark Descent is fantastic, as is Soma - wonderful sense of dread & isolation. I wouldn't really bother with Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. Whilst it's not a terrible game, it's 95% slightly spooky walking simulator - it's not made by the same developers, so it fails to capture the original game's atmosphere.

Re: Halo Infinite No Longer In Xbox Live's Top Five As Player Numbers Decline

sikthvash

I'm still having fun with it, but there are definitely some issues...
Some of the maps have already began to feel a little stale. Respawn points are a joke, resulting in near instant deaths.
Weapon balancing still needs to be addressed. The Ravager and Sentinel Beam are garbage.
The weekly challenges become a grind & divert focus away from having fun to doing a checklist of mundane chores.
Shop items are still way overpriced.
Progression system is slow.
Forge will save this title - as usual, once the tools are in the hands of the community, there will be an abundance of goods maps & modes, but until then it's rather weak & still has me wanting to return to Halo 5.

Re: Don't Use Quick Resume With Halo Infinite For Now, Advises 343

sikthvash

As it disconnects you from the server, I just quit the app & reloaded anyway, so no big issue. If they could, it might be advisable to patch out the quick resume all together until a remedy has been found. The developers should be focusing on winding down for the Holiday season now though, they need a break!

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be 'Perceived As A Very Good Game' In The Long Run, Says CDPR

They can put as much garnish on as they like, but they will never rid themselves of the debacle that was the rushed launch. I feel sorry for all hard working developers who have clearly put a lot of their heart and soul into making this game. I'm not booting it up again until they've done the polishing, but this should have stayed in the oven a good 12-18 months more.

Re: Halo Infinite's Fracture: Tenrai Event Is Causing Frustration With Fans

I would have much preferred a model like Halo 5's unlocks, where you can earn cosmetics etc from play rather than everything locked behind paywalls. Sure, the option to unlock stuff quicker with money can stay, but as it stands I'm caring less & less about the challenges etc & I just want to enjoy the game.
With that said, I'm confident 343 will tweak to balance things out. I'm more interested in what Forge will bring to the table so we can play community maps & modes, which will divert the focus from the Battle Pass stuff.

Re: Halo Infinite's Battle Pass Progression Is Being Updated In Response To Player Feedback

sikthvash

It's a good start, but I would like to see XP rewards for contribution to a match. For example, small XP rewards for medals, placement in the scoretable, win bonuses etc. Reading on Reddit some people were playing long, drawnout matches in BTB, only to result in a draw and everyone only getting 100xp as they hadn't fullfilled any Weekly Challenges, yet they had a high medal count / KDR.

Re: Review: Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania - A Love Letter With A Few Misfires

sikthvash

Poorly constructed story? I'm sorry, I don't ever remember there being a story in the first place! I don't think it needs to be there as this to me is like a pick up & play title, like something out of the arcade.
Monkey Target is considered weak and cumbersome?!!? Are you serious? That was one of my favourites for multiplayer! Such a laugh too!

Re: Hands On: Halo Infinite's Multiplayer Feels Like The Perfect Blend Of New And Old

sikthvash

I enjoyed my time with the preview, but I can't help but feel that the matches felt more like a CoD game than Halo. I'm loving the return of the shield regenration sound, the controls & shooting are tight & the new weapons are cool, but I think it does need some tweaking. I've plugged a lot of hours into Halo 5 multiplayer, so it's possible I'm just a little resistant to change. I will miss the likes of the spartan charge & ground pound, but the new abilities like the grapple hook are very welcome.
I'm still eagerly awaiting this title for sure. I'm really interested to see what the community give in terms of feedback & what they go on to create in Forge, as some of the best content in Multiplayer often comes from the awesome fans ^_^

Re: EA Explains Why Your Mass Effect Legendary Edition Pre-Load Is Only 20GB On Xbox

sikthvash

@InterceptorAlpha Apologies if you know the first bit already, but starting from the begining... Using the Xbox app on Android or iOS, you can search for Mass Effect then click on 'Download to Console'. It will then take you to a list of console registered to your account, so for example, it might say 'Series X' as that's the nickname of my console & you click continue. Here's the thing though, after installing the 100mb option I had to delete that based on what someone said on Reddit and try again. It took about 10-15 tries before it would register and actually pre-load - I had to spam press the install option. I've not had any issue with any other game, just this one. I think the install option was borked.
Just to clarify, it didn't look as though there was any option to update it, so deleting & starting again was the only option. Such a weird setup!
