343 Announces Halo Infinite's Season 2 Update, Launching This May

I love the Infinite MP, I really do, but 2 new maps after 6 months is pretty poor. I hope it's more. I'd also love for them to scrap this Spartan Core idea and just open up customization properly.

I’m happy for all this of course.
But please sort out Quick Resume it can’t be that hard 343.
Seems so daft an exclusive Xbox studio game
Does not work with quick resume in campaign.
Additionally DOLBY ATOMS seems to cut out for a couple of seconds now and again then come back.
More so on this game.
Come on Microsoft probably simple technical issues you should have sorted out by now.

All very promising. Revamped challenges however should be front and center of the new season. If I have to play counter intuitively to the objectives again next season then I'll just stop playing once and for all.
Silly things like "get assists" meaning I just shoot till the shields are down to let someone else finish them off. "Kill a ball/flag carrier" meaning I actively let the enemy pick up the objective to then try to get my kill. "Kill Spartans from behind" meaning I stop trying to shoot and make my team lose points in slayer as I try to get the melee attacks. The challenges are so poorly thought out it is astounding they've still not fixed them or mentioned them in the season 2 update.

@Dezzy70 Quick resume worked for me in the campaign without issue. Played on Series X a couple of months back. Would leave it on quick resume several times without issues.

It’s like the doesn’t connect to the servers on quick resume and tells me I don’t own the game.
Hang on I’m playing using gamepass.
So I bet that is problem.
FH5 on gamepass is fine.

Please tell me there is more then one map being added for arena. For a live service game, their added offerings have been beyond poor to this point.

Sounds good! I definitely plan to jump back in come season 2's launch. I should be slowing down on Elden Ring by then I would think...possibly.

@FatalBubbles afraid I can’t tell you that. I agree 2 maps (1 Arena & 1 BTB) doesn’t feel like enough.

Hopefully the new modes will give some replayability to the current maps. I type this I hope they be modes will stick around and not be limited to events.

@ParsnipHero Most of my friends have fallen off and I really don’t think one new map will entice anyone to come back. We will have to see if the new modes make them want to come back.

@pip_muzz instead of dropping the game, just ignore the challenges. The per match XP is enough to level the pass. And even if not, it’s all cosmetic. Enjoy the game instead!

@Dezzy70 Game pass too. Zero issues. Works absolutely fine for me.

@FatalBubbles I think we’ll see pick-up again later this year once Forge comes out.

I can’t blame people for dropping off. I play with my stepson and he’s really into it still. We complain every week about how bad the game is but once the weekly is over and we’re just playing “for fun” it’s a much more enjoyable experience.

1 BTB map when the game already only has what, 2? That makes sense I guess though given dysync and the abysmal 30hz tick rate for the servers only make it worse. One of the many reasons Halo Infinite's population pretty much doesn't exist more.

On top of that, another armor that looks like it doesn't belong, much like Yoroi.

Why does 343, that's handled the games this long, still have such a hard time making a Halo game?

@InterceptorAlpha I like the look of the new event core. Probably more than the battle pass core. That said these things tend to look better in concept art than in game. The Yoroi core is fine but it’s my least favourite core right now. It’s hard to complete with Mark V (B) playing as an ODST.

The game currently has 3 BTB maps but I agree with the rest of what you said. 343 have squandered a great initial launch. I hope they get up to speed after season 2.

@ParsnipHero 5 months for a season was way too long as well. Moving to 3 months should help.

@FatalBubbles absolutely. I think one of the things missing from this was an idea when season 3 will come I I guess we’ll need more in April.

I think others have this issue as well.
I just close/quit the game when finished
And all seems ok.

@FatalBubbles This is 343 you're talking about. It took them like 5 years to get the Master Chief collection right...

@SacredPYRO I completely agree 2 new maps after all of this time is a joke really. There had better be more coming.

To echo the concerns of other players here, 2 maps isn't going to cut it. I would be quite happy if they threw in a few classic maps from previous games, just to pad it out a little more until Forge drops.
