Re: 'It Will Lead In Performance' - Xbox's Price Tag For Project Helix Could Be Pretty High

kuu_nousee

@Banjo- we actually do not know what type of Windows will it run. Full exe or anything applicable application able to open OR just simply allows PC game stores to be installed AND be sandboxed in another VM with limited flexibility.

Those two things ARE TOTALLY different situations. Full blown open Windows is still something I doubt. It's still probably a partially locked down Windows OS and don't be shocked if Microsoft pulls the later for Helix.

It's what they are doing and have been for 360, One, and Series consoles anyway. They run on a version of Windows and the games are just VMs. This is probably just expanding the compatibility of their gaming OS. They have done limited Windows OSs for decades. Windows 10S or early Windows ARM OS anyone? This isn't 'new' for Microsoft.

Re: 'It Will Lead In Performance' - Xbox's Price Tag For Project Helix Could Be Pretty High

kuu_nousee

It's been discussed the BOM for a while should be around ~$900 USD via the codename Magnus info. My gut reaction months ago was $750-$850 and we know ram/SSD prices are still climbing.

Unfortunately if it doesn't have a disc drive for older games $900 is my limit or $1k with a disc drive for BC for older games. Still though it's basically gonna be a copy of my current PCs power just easily able to put near a TV, still could be worth it for many people.

Re: New Xbox Boss Makes Official Statement As She Takes Over From Phil Spencer

kuu_nousee

The trajectory of Xbox behind the scenes has been okay for about 1-2 years now when things are looking generally positive for games, publishing, and a next gen console we....do this.

If the core team focus has been less on AI (this was the push to get Sharma to get Xbox to making money again) and this is Microsoft of old mentality to get Xbox really back to a strong 360 place without exclusives they better continue pumping out internal games as quick as possible to make this positive for gamers.

Re: Xbox President Sarah Bond Is Also Leaving The Company, Microsoft Confirms

kuu_nousee

Either Phil got pushed to retirement and/or asks to leave for replacement but that person wasn't Sarah nor anyone in Microsoft related to Gaming at all.

It's embarrassing and I totally understand why she left. She got stiffed by someone that likely isn't qualified or knows d*** about video games.

It's just strange Sharma didn't have a position on Xbox for 1-2 YEARS before this. It's just too abrupt to make any sense.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Ranked 5th In List Of Platforms Developers Are Most Interested In

kuu_nousee

@Weebleman Correct, even if it's Xbox in name and the app is named Xbox and it does indeed play Xbox games in backwards compatibility via a launcher or a VM window and pops up in front of other windows on the desktop it...is...still....a P...C... If someone wanted that they would have it already. The Windows OS SUCKS on a TV. It's bad, really bad. The biggest problem Microsoft has with a hybrid box is getting the OS to handle a controller just like the Xbox Series consoles does today and has since launch.

If they cannot do that day one next console/hybrid people will complain even if it's a $500-$600 box, let alone a $799-$999 prices box. People want a streamlined OS experience not a very non-controller friendly Windows OS with a start menu. This is their biggest hurdle. Not price. Not lack or missing some 3rd party games. It's the damn OS experience. It's going to ruin the 'Xbox' brand if they cannot get a good solution and the new Xbox full screen experience is not it. It might be a 1/4 of the way to where it should be, maybe. It's bad on the Xbox Ally X, that is like a alpha of a concept of a plan.

I just don't understand why they cannot expand the other way from the Series Windows OS and make it compatible with x86 applications and apps. Using Windows 11 as the place to start ain't it.

Re: The Top 10 Xbox Game Pass Titles Of 2025, As Determined By Your Votes

kuu_nousee

No surprises every single game on top 10 was in or still is in GamePass. This is the monster Microsoft created and needs to understand what it did to the platform moving forward.

Enjoyed Avowed, TOW2, and Doom TDA a decent amount. But Ball X Pit, CO:E33 and Ninja Gaiden 4 were the highlights for me this year at least within Xbox eco.

Re: It's A Big Birthday For The Xbox Series X, So Let's Look Back At Our Review From 2020

kuu_nousee

Great hardware no doubt. Quick Resume is magical for single player games. BC rules for the games there. But past that point...yeah not much vs other consoles/PC.

5 years in it's starting to age though with zero of it's own generation exclusives. Feels like no other console in history due to this situation. Still enjoy mine but only turn on for the next GamePass game to try. Next summer (when my GPU is up) it will be my legacy games console only.

Re: Fallout 76 Is Officially Getting A Native Xbox Series X|S Version In Early 2026

kuu_nousee

It's really good some of the Fallout games are getting better versions but not 3 or New Vegas... Old games that need it MORE. It's like they don't even understand which Fallout made the IP so popular on a broader scale also. I get not Fallout 1 or 2, which I hope are getting remade completely in first person but that's exponentially more work.

EDIT: Missed comment @themightyant yep I knew I wasn't the only person that thought his.

Re: Xbox Journalist Says Latest Rumours Are 'A Huge Challenge For The Brand Right Now'

kuu_nousee

Even a person that just buys one Xbox a generation and looks online once a week for game reviews will see these articles and piece that after their massive ABK on GamePass and consoles over and over within 2 years will see that Xbox as a brand struggling. They are unable to sell more of any game or hardware versus all other platforms every single time. Then they see the prices of ROG Xbox Ally | X devices and see $600 for the base unit and realize next gen is gonna be at least $600+ for a console. It's not looking good for the brand just from a marketing, announcement, and data info standpoint for the consumer. No matter how good the experience is right now on their console. Does it suck this is happening? Yes I hate to see a great ecosystem and platform seem like it's fine crumbling after each new official announcement or rumor.

Re: 'Price Increases Are Never Fun For Anybody' Says Xbox Exec Defending Game Pass Changes

kuu_nousee

Feedback is: it sucks look at the data and how many people are cancelling. The resell value of the Series consoles is tanking and some stores have clearance pricing them in the USA.

It's basically over, we barely blinked hardware prices went up so did GamePass 2-3 times collectively together within a year. Killed the brand that was already struggling for the people still supporting it past a GamePass sub. Everyone I know hardcore Xbox either sold their console/stopped GamePass, stopped GamePass and will just buy games here or there, or killed their GamePass play what they have in Xbox then buying anything new on PlayStation.

Where is all the old Activision games? WoW sub added into Ultimate? We want quality not Fortnite skins or Assassin's Creed 9-13. Get with the program grandpa. Quality for double the price.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Plans For Xbox Game Pass After This Week's News?

kuu_nousee

Riding out my pre-paid cheap Ultimate sub end of 2026 in some form (with or without a Series X and) on a PC.

Very unlikely I'll switch to PC GamePass again, $17 is a bit more than I think it's worth and by end of 2026 PC GamePass could be either $25-$30 or loose day one games anyways. Also I want to take note that Ubisoft+ and Fortnite Crew as added "value" is straight up insulting. Ah yes 2 ($25-$30 on sale to keep) AAA games worth of value and some skin to a multiplayer game. LMAO

I'm kind of just soured of the brand even though I liked the controller, the hardware, PlayAnywhere, the dashboard, VRR, Dolby/DTS support, and a decent attempt to keep Series X disc games at the start of the generation. Nice while it lasted.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Is Getting A Major Overhaul With New Names, Games & Price Changes

kuu_nousee

Well this is effectively as close as you can get to killing the brand before killing it.

I have Ultimate just because a cheap conversion to end of 2026. But after that? I don't even think any version of GamePass, maybe PC but this about seals that I'm done with Xbox consoles after Series X (and not even because disc games on Xbox are about dead).

Nice run for Xbox I guess, but a big wet fart to kill itself even with still existing.

Re: Microsoft Announces New Price Increases For Xbox Series X|S In The US

kuu_nousee

@FrenchVaniIIuxe with Satiya's and Trump's help absolutely but let's not kid ourselves many bad decisions for a few years.

The craziest thing is though how amazing the January show they had going for them but with so many other issues with communication, announcements hardware price changes, firings of employees, and cancelling internal games it feels like nothing positive happened this year for the Xbox brand.

They can really only blame themselves as they have so much money they could literally eat the costs of both of these price increases and kept the consoles at the same prices below PlayStation or Nintendo. But they didn't, it's their choice.

Re: Leaker Reveals 'Final Prices' For ROG Xbox Ally Handheld In The US

kuu_nousee

Have a Switch 2 and a Deck so these seem extremely redundant. If we had OLED screen 120hz screen and powerful enough to run 1080p120hz with VRR for about $749 I'd have considered. But the problem is we just aren't there yet for handheld performance/price either.

Easy skip until 3-5 more years when a premium product will be here in a handheld for sub $800.

Re: Microsoft CEO Comments On Recent Xbox Layoffs, Doubles Down On AI

kuu_nousee

@awp69 he cannot even see if you want it save time gain more profit why would you get rid of people? Those people could have been using AI to create more faster. It's just simply he wants to 'save money' by replacing humans with AI. Whatever his take at this point in this very very early stage of AI there isn't much reason to get rid people of their jobs.

Re: Microsoft Is Seemingly Cutting Back On Its Quality Assurance Efforts With Xbox

kuu_nousee

@BAMozzy I got over Scalebound due to the situation and it just being one game at a weird time for Xbox brand. Now it's game after game after game along with studio after studio getting axed.

It's basically like they do not know how to manage game studios at this level of investment and tier of involvement of resources and studio counts. Sure they did pretty well during the OG Xbox & 360 generations but they just didn't have a damn clue during Xbox One and even more now so for Series generation. There is basically no way Xbox isn't moving to 3rd party publisher by mid next generation or earlier.

Re: Microsoft Is Seemingly Cutting Back On Its Quality Assurance Efforts With Xbox

kuu_nousee

@Nintendo4Sonic just after I held out on GamePass Core only for a year I saw a good boost of games coming for Ultimate to switch for a year. They had a great showing early this year it seemed they were headed in the right track to being solid on releases like PlayStation & Nintendo. Now they just throw away all their good will to appease the Microsoft overlords and shareholders.

Now next July I will not only be not subbing Ultimate but un-subbing and not switching to PC or Core, I'm just over their madness and chaos. My Series X will be a BC machine and 3rd party physical games box moving forward (like there is hardly any releasing on disc anyways today).

Nadella and Spencer need a reality check.

Re: Former Xbox Dev Claims Turn 10's Forza Motorsport Team 'Is No More'

kuu_nousee

Remember even 5 years ago the pillars we expected were: Halo | Gears | Forza

I guess now we can say the brand officially transitioned to these games as pillars: Minecraft | COD | Horizon

The Xbox of the past and its games we knew is gone, Gears and Halo are niche titles at this point and are not primary focus anymore due to $.

Re: Xbox Play Anywhere Is Growing Massively In 2025, And There's A Lot More To Come

kuu_nousee

Better late than never, but this push is just soooooooooooooo late. It's obvious they are looking to move away from consoles and this is the support for that with a 'bigger push'. The start of this generation should have been the start and forced all games to be PlayAnywhere if Microsoft truly cared they didn't care where we played our Xbox paid for & GamePass games.

Just really really poor execution this late.

Re: Microsoft Planning To 'Restructure' Xbox Distribution In Central Europe, Says Report

kuu_nousee

@Coletrain it's pretty non-existent in the US also. Last commercial I saw was for Starfield, and last ads on a non focused gaming site was sidebars on YouTube. Maybe they cover some buses and trains in other cities like Seattle, LA, or New York but I haven't seen big posters/murals/ads in person in basically any city since the Xbox 360 era.

Yet I see Nintendo commercials and ads when a big game is launching or when the Switch 2 released. Then about every other month see is some PlayStation commercial online in an ad/webpage or via YouTube
These are primarily based on a third party game or their next console exclusive.
