Earlier on, we got a proper release date for the Xbox version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but that's not all from Square Enix. Shortly after this news aired during today's Nintendo Direct, the company confirmed that the whole trilogy is coming to Xbox - that means FF7 Rebirth is on the way and Part 3 will not be a PS5 timed exclusive when it launches in future. Hurrah!
We'd already heard rumours about Rebirth landing sometime in 2026, and while Square hasn't put any sort of release window on it just yet, it's nice to know that the 2024 PS5 title is being ported over. It's also great to get confirmation that the third part of this remake saga will be coming to Xbox consoles day and date, rather than being another PS exclusive. Here's the announcement post:
Recently, our friends over at Push Square covered an update from Square Enix on FF7 Remake Part 3, with the company saying that "things are progressing really smoothly" for the final entry. We don't have a proper title for it yet, but Square did say that the "release timing" of Part 3 has "already been decided", so hopefully that means it's not too far off.
We'll chuck a link to that update down below, alongside our latest updates on Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for Xbox.
