It's basically a high end PC game. I wouldn't touch this game with a ten foot pole until the next generation of consoles AFTER Xbox Series and PS5.
The benchmark ran...fine on my 7900 xtx with a 12900k.
Had to turn off ray tracing and use frame-gen to get over 100fps. And it didn't look that good. This game only looks good with ray tracing and over 1440p. You basically need a 4080 or 4090.
Nothing historic about that, Aaron is just nonsensical. They should have done a special edition Series X or S console for BLOPS 6. Or maybe one of those Series X wraps.
Something we can buy and Microsoft makes money but I guess they don't want money. Whatever.
@Arcticpandapopz in the US there is one up for Series X at $45 through Limited Run Games. Ships in the month of December 2024. No idea for other countries for physical.
If it doesn't lead to one or all of the following it doesn't matter, a waste of time.
1. More AA and AAA Xbox game studios games more often than 2-3 games a year. 4-5 is more ideal with the lack of them the last 3 years.
2. A way to buy and download digital games like the PlayStation app.
3. Fixing the streaming quality with a better type of codex so gaming streaming on good to great connections isn't total ass and has 20-30 ms input latency.
This could be translation taken the wrong way as in 'if you don't have a console it is coming to PC'. Though if there is someone against Xbox ecosystem this isn't the first time we've heard this from devs. I recall many and multiple devs at Bethesda livid (posting on Twitter) they 'would not be able to make games for their preferred platform (PS5) and would be forced to make games for the more difficult Series S' when they where bought by Microsoft.
I doubt this game is skipping Xbox, but it will just be very late as always for many of the more exciting 3rd party games these days. It's unfortunate.
The Case of the Golden Idol or Neon White.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess seemed like it was great but it was a bit too slow for me.
Everything else this month was just average.
@themightyant my issue with "giving a game breathing room" doesn't make sense to me when Xbox's core focus is GamePass. The only issue Xbox should be worried about is overlaying single player only games. This is a single player game so another multiplayer game won't just eat up all the time for someone not into multiplayer games at all. I.e. Black Ops 6. If Indy is this year they should do one in October and one in December, it's not that difficult.
None of this is surprising, as they have had less and less owned IP, console exclusive and now mostly zero completely exclusive games to Xbox consoles which are BRAND NEW releases.
I like that Xbox wants more people to play their games but if they want to sell more and more consoles they have to at least have NEW AA OR AAA 8/10+ scored reviewed console exclusives 2-3 times EVERY YEAR. Otherwise a console exclusive "streamer" game that takes off in sales or is on GamePass. They had one this year Palworld, that's it.
Xbox has frankly done NONE of that is 3-5 years at this point. Reap what you sow Microsoft.
@Nexozi tbh besides the rare and few Xbox ecosystem owned IP there isn't much that doesn't mirror or come to PS+ a few months later.
How do I know? I've had both for the last two years and most of the same 3rd in party games come to both services.
Gotham City Imposters (already delisted on PC) Double Dragon II (3d exclusive, I know it's crap but I want to experience how bad it truly is) NIN2-JUMP Legend of Spyro
Not saying this is the reason buying GamePass is a bad idea but like I did for the last 3 years I bought ahead and didn't exactly get my money's worth. Somes months I definitely did but most months I played games I purchased not on GamePass.
Delaying games are definitely are necessary (especially this one where they are living and working in war zones) but in turn it can affect the worth of the short term of GamePass.
I'll just be buying this game after reviews if it pans out to be worth it. They can take all the time they need to finish it.
Nothing really anything as not much available I don't already own or haven't played on Xbox that is released on GamePass. Would have bought DQ11S but it is on PS+. It's a good deal at $23.
It isn't worth the time to play single player, one of the worst COD campaigns. I think the reason to give it on GamePass is to give something attached to Call of Duty name and likely it's worst selling for the three of the new Modern Warfare games.
Smart from a marketing perspective and to say they are doing something nice before BLOPS 6, but if you think about it's a petty move for the consumer. It would be better to give MW1 or MW2.
It's worth time in multiplayer but that's about it.
@ValentineMeikin this game is not on MT Framework, this is an SNK game. Not even the same developers. Capcom is only part of SVC Chaos due to IP sharing with SNK. Why do people keep thinking this is a Capcom made game?
SF6, Monster Hunter Rise, Resident Evil 4, and Monster Hunter Wilds are all on Xbox Series consoles.
@NORTHERN_beat then a Darksiders-like. It's basically that but just not a satisfying time from a basic feeling. Games of the past that did it much better. Especially Darksider 2.
Both look awesome, too bad there isn't a DeadPool & Wolverine tie in video game (I miss those cheesey floaty games from the past) to come along with these.
Sucks they are hard covers not squishy like a real butt.
@Decoy_Snake yep and not even sell them! Advertisements for not even sold items, sounds like a waste of $ if you ask me.
Honestly the look and story seemed interesting but something is a bit amiss with the player movement speed. Unfortunately it throws me off all the time even though the gameplay combat actions and traversal mechanics are good/better. Sad, I'm just gonna quit as I wanted to like it.
They went for a hybrid souls-like with shooting and it just feels off from a general walk perspective, similar to Remnant 1&2 (if you like those you might like this one). How they could mess up the most important function of a game is beyond me. Other souls-like's like Lords of the Fallen (though it has a combat sound issue) managed to not mess up with the general aspects of gameplay/movement and I'd suggest play it instead as it's also on GamePass.
@Banjo- Code Mystics has their own engine, isn't Capcom so no access to MT Framework.
As well this is a SNK arcade original NEO GEO game, not a Capcom made game AT ALL, lots of misconceptions here.
The only thing Capcom has to do with SVC Chaos is the IP usage. Same but the opposite for SNK for Capcom vs SNK games. Capcom made but SNK IP usage.
Anyways it is likely the same issues as MT Framework but from Code Mystics side. Not that there is ZERO support for Xbox One generally, Blacks Ops 6 is coming to XB1. Code Mystics haven't done anything with their engine tech (Prometheus) on Xbox since at GoldenEye 007 that came out on January 2023.
Sounds like a plan/request issue via SNK if I had to give an opinion as we know City of the Wolves is coming to Series consoles.
A "more trouble than it was worth for profit outcome" on Xbox, sucks.
@OldGamer999 I assume with Sarah saying "powerful hardware" we will see if it's a traditional local box within 2025. Early 2025 if it comes end of 2026 or late 2025 if it's coming more in the 2027 timeframe.
@JonBoyJ @GamingFan4Lyf it's only convenient because the form factor and the singular storefront otherwise when accessories required to play games over many years becomes more or equal to the cost of a PC it can no longer make sense (Series propriety SSD cards).
If you can use a console within a few hundred $ of accessories in its lifetime it will likely be cheaper than PC but that all depends on how you purchase games: day one/wait for sale, disc sales, etc. If you budget and wait it's absolutely cheaper, though if you day one digital 4-6 games a year over 5 years you will creep into PC spending territory due to how much cheaper day 1 or sale PC games are vs console.
@HonestHick GTA6 will boost Series and PS5 tremendously, and the bump also this week and ongoing for College Football 25 will be a good boost for console sales since there isn't a PC version.
The thing about it is if games are console only at launch it helps consoles sales much more than if there is a PC version of the game, it just is how it is now.
You either make exclusives, console exclusive and/or console launch exclusives or console sales suffer. It's just that simple. Or your an aging console like Switch that is in a dire need for a successor launched.
There was nothing new added to the 360 list just looked it over, EXTREMELY disappointed.
This just days after 'you don't need an Xbox console' messaging for the Fire Stick. xCloud via Fire Stick doesn't even run as good as a local Series S quality, input, or framerates.
Yeah Microsoft we do need an Xbox console if we want a premium or even DECENT experience.
Even with playing the first game, the work on keeping closed off walking areas very cramped that just show off the graphics was much more tiring much faster than the 1st game. As well as the puzzles it became too much simplified and repetitive.
The concept to get out something a bit different fell too short, even with some interesting scenery.
The combat ended up being basically exactly the same which wasn't exactly a strong point in the first.
Not sure why they spent so much time focusing on the bog standard story when the first game was an interesting/weird personal mental quest.
It was very average and well below average experience at the same time but was beautiful to see only at very specific points (non playable cinematics)
Xbox needs to get away from this type of thing and bring back the very gamey games that you want to stick with (or at least is way out with way too much information & story there that you want to replay) not these more 'walking simulator' style games without hardly any actions or gameplay systems to find interesting. This was a one and done.
@BAMozzy It's not confusing to us in the know but it still is worrying more will be changed on a whim and/or prices will rise again. After they just did for inflation. Now this is the COD tax. What will happen next year the Perfect Dark, Fable or Gears of War tax? The problem is Microsoft clear lack of good communication, it always has been and seems like they will continue tradition. I'm not here nor happy to continue to reward them with $3 increase a month personally to see them continuing to muddy the waters. But that's my own personal opinion. I'll still game on Xbox, buy disc games and digital sales. Though I'm done just forking over the money for Ultimate. I'll wait for reviews and sales.
Flintlock & Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess the only two games I'm interested in trying before my GPU expires at the end of the month.
Played Neon White months ago on other platforms because it already released there and not on Xbox. Great game though, I highly recommend it to anyone that likes fps/arcade/time trial games.
I can see how it's still worth $20 for Ultimate for many people but I'm tired of the changes. I just dropped down to Core & got 3 years of cards for Core for $140 total ($4 a month/12 cents a day). I'll buy discs and a la cart digital games on sales now and still have the same experience. I'm done with the shenanigans by Microsoft. Mid 2027 should be about time or after next gen Xbox will be known/available and see if Series consoles will be my last Xbox.
@PKDuckman This is exactly what they (Microsoft) are trying to do as they have seen sales of games decline for full software vs PS/Nintendo. Smart in some ways, but for the Xbox player it's more annoying that a "whole package" experience is becoming less and less likely these days. Well unless it's like say DQ3, MGS∆ or DRDR, which are all remasters/remakes. The brand new game experience like those bigger games is frankly disappearing on Xbox the longer we go on. Really depressing. I guess we have Indiana Jones and Perfect Dark coming 🤷
Great game, I still have a Bloodwake disc but it isn't BC on 360 nor Series X...for no apparent reason. Unless Stormfront Studios IP ownership was too difficult to sort out in the past. Now that DOESN'T make sense as they were part of Sierra Entertainment whom was owned by Activision and now in turn owned by Microsoft directly.
So Microsoft/Xbox division needs to get on with another round of BC added from all the Activision licenses. It's been quite a while.
@FraserG Fair point, though so far this generation it seems like digital sales cannot compete with disc sale prices. Minus the current EoL Xbox 360 digital sale prices as they are vastly cheaper than most 360 discs. Cannot wait to see what is on sale on July 16th for the end will be like for the 360 marketplace.
Besides Lost Odyssey (a 360 game) there is nothing here that isn't cheaper via a disc purchase. Tekken 8 is $34 on Amazon, South Park Snow Day is $19 as well.
I hate to the lame duck but if this is a sign of what is to come with Xbox sales in only all digital future of consoles then this sucks.
If we want better sales to exist for we better start rethinking digital sales for disc sales on Xbox as priority, otherwise bye bye discs and actual better sale prices.
I'd rather Xbox division not give up on physical it's the place I'd rather play overall. If they give up on discs next generation okay, then go the route of cartridges then. If they don't then the message will be they don't care about preservation of our purchases. They may care about games living on but not customer ownership.
It seems the following forced this to happen:
1. GamePass and not buying games
2. Some Smart Delivery discs only having Xbox One versions of games.
3. Lastly the worst is most Series X only game discs not having a full playable build on a disc. This right here + missing on SD games killed disc sales. (I believe someone said it's Switch 50%, PS 40%, and Xbox 10% of physical sales currently).
It seems like it was planned after GamePass really took off. For me I really need to have an external disc drive option for all previous games for next generation hardware (if it's digital only) otherwise it will be a hard sell. I'll just put that new console cost towards a new graphics card for the PC where I can potentially own some games.
Today games like LaD: Infinite Wealth are keeping me in Xbox ecosystem with Xbox/PC support on 1 purchase cost. That's truly the only benefit currently for digital Xbox ecosystem games.
2-3 of them should but they better have at least two for sure with dates otherwise what is coming in 2024 first party? Sounds like maybe nothing then unless we get another shadow drop game.
My bet is Ara and Hellblade II will have exact dates but Avowed who knows if Summer/Fall or exact date. Indy probably is the one that just has a general info like Fall/Winter 2024.
No real 60fps without the disc and No Arkham Origins still pisses me off to this day (Especially because it is THE BEST Arkham game and the multiplayer was so fun, rip).
It's really a crime these games were released in such a state.
On Xbox, play more SF6 and finish up QII.
Otherwise honestly not buy games unless something truly great comes out soon (likely Dragon's Dogma 2 and Metaphor ReFantazio in the fall).
I'll really just be trying GamePass games and play older games I've already purchased.
When I heard 2026 rumor for new Xbox generation it feels like it makes more sense every day not seeing many "I have to play this game" games coming out even without seeing a game showcase yet for 2024 dates for Avowed and Hellblade II. Tbh I'm ready to move on eariler then supersede a PS5 Pro with more features and power.
The only one that feels like a 10 is Quake II, due to its extensive content.
I loved RE4R but something about it felt too long, some of the content could have been cut and it would have been bit better. Maybe I just wish the Ava content was built into the main campaign.
Sea of Stars? I've tried to get into it's and maybe it's just not for me, yet Chrono Trigger is one of the best games of forever. Seems like a puzzling one as it seems too weak for some and too good for other people.
Dark smoke is the only one I'd probably buy, but hopefully they are premium materials like what Xbox One and Series consoles use. None of the cheap stuff. I'd personally consider $100 or cheaper. More is too much.

Re: Xbox First-Party RPG Avowed Reportedly Delayed Until Early 2025
As many have said if Indy is delayed to 2025 Xbox has been no different in 2024 than Sony in reality for owned IP.
Xbox: Hellblade II, BLOPS6, & Flight Sim 2024
PS: D2: The Final Shape, Concord, & Astrobot
Super depressing year for Microsoft & Sony.
They are definitely trying hard to make Series and PS5 the worst console gen ever.

From the Xbox or Steam official stores for Xbox games at full cost? Yeah, no that ship has sailed.
Re: Reaction: Microsoft's Constant Tweaking Of Xbox Game Pass Is Becoming Exhausting
Re: US Sales Figures Reveal Interesting Stats About Xbox Series X|S & Hellblade 2
Re: Soapbox: I Miss The Type Of Pick-Up-And-Play Games We Got On Original Xbox
Great game, I still have a Bloodwake disc but it isn't BC on 360 nor Series X...for no apparent reason. Unless Stormfront Studios IP ownership was too difficult to sort out in the past. Now that DOESN'T make sense as they were part of Sierra Entertainment whom was owned by Activision and now in turn owned by Microsoft directly.
So Microsoft/Xbox division needs to get on with another round of BC added from all the Activision licenses. It's been quite a while.
Re: Xbox Summer Sale 2024 'Teaser' Now Live, 300+ Games Discounted
@FraserG Fair point, though so far this generation it seems like digital sales cannot compete with disc sale prices. Minus the current EoL Xbox 360 digital sale prices as they are vastly cheaper than most 360 discs. Cannot wait to see what is on sale on July 16th for the end will be like for the 360 marketplace.
Re: Xbox Summer Sale 2024 'Teaser' Now Live, 300+ Games Discounted
Besides Lost Odyssey (a 360 game) there is nothing here that isn't cheaper via a disc purchase. Tekken 8 is $34 on Amazon, South Park Snow Day is $19 as well.
I hate to the lame duck but if this is a sign of what is to come with Xbox sales in only all digital future of consoles then this sucks.
If we want better sales to exist for we better start rethinking digital sales for disc sales on Xbox as priority, otherwise bye bye discs and actual better sale prices.
Re: Poll: How Many Physical Xbox Games Do You Have In Your Collection?
Re: Poll: Which Games Will Get Release Dates At Xbox Developer Direct?
2-3 of them should but they better have at least two for sure with dates otherwise what is coming in 2024 first party? Sounds like maybe nothing then unless we get another shadow drop game.
My bet is Ara and Hellblade II will have exact dates but Avowed who knows if Summer/Fall or exact date. Indy probably is the one that just has a general info like Fall/Winter 2024.
Re: Five Years On, Batman: Arkham Collection Is Dominating The Xbox Charts Once Again
No real 60fps without the disc and No Arkham Origins still pisses me off to this day (Especially because it is THE BEST Arkham game and the multiplayer was so fun, rip).
It's really a crime these games were released in such a state.
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Gaming Resolutions For 2024?
Re: Three Xbox Games We've Given 'Outstanding' 10/10 Scores To In 2023
The only one that feels like a 10 is Quake II, due to its extensive content.
Re: Retro Gaming Store Wants Help Designing OG Xbox Shells For 2024 Launch
Dark smoke is the only one I'd probably buy, but hopefully they are premium materials like what Xbox One and Series consoles use. None of the cheap stuff. I'd personally consider $100 or cheaper. More is too much.
