Re: Xbox Is Getting A Lot Of Praise For This Week's Partner Preview Showcase

kuu_nousee

Solid B, but nothing was I need to play this ASAP besides the Alan Wake 2 DLC.
I think the 'need to play' games are already taking so long to come out they don't have their hype hardly anymore on the Xbox side. They seem to drag out too long in wait they need really good preview right before release like Flight Sim 2024 is attempting but falling a bit short with right now.
Indy, Avowed, and Flight Sim 2024 the ones now until 2nd half 2025 from Microsoft internal.
Sucks I was hyped for them but could care less for any of those now would rather have Doom Dark Age, Clockwork Revolution, South of Midnight, Perfect Dark or Gears E-Day.

I'll just have to get by on my backlog with Stalker 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, and hopefully Wuchang FF by the first few months of 2025.

Re: Xbox Series X Teardown Shows New 2024 Models Are More Efficient

kuu_nousee

@Cikajovazmaj I recall hearing that but didn't want to mention as I didn't have a video for proof/reference.

It's truly unfortunate it's like PS5 and Series X|S were made as upgrades of the SSD from Xbox One and PS4, nothing more in a rush without anything promising from AMD because they sat on their way ML/upscaling wasn't needed for the next 4+ years and brute force hardware was enough.
Microsoft and Sony had to force them to make custom ML or work with them to push RDNA4 ML cores to PS5 Pro even ahead of RDNA4 PC GPUs launch.

It's almost like Microsoft and Sony should have their engineers have the say so of the GPU roadmap at AMD, not AMD.

I'm personally ready to dump PS5 and Series consoles as they have been a letdown.

Re: Xbox Series X Teardown Shows New 2024 Models Are More Efficient

kuu_nousee

@Cikajovazmaj in this economy neither is horrible value even the Series X, but still off customer realities.
If the Series X 2tb was $569, Series X disc 1tb was $469, Series X disc less 1tb was $429, and Series S 1tb was $329 and 512gb was discontinued used at $229 we would not have such a dire pricing structure for sales.

If only there were also two PS5 Pro skus it would be as bad either: 2tb at $699 and 1tb at $599.

This is all about perspective of the value of money/cost of parts and I think honestly Microsoft and Sony STILL failed the marketing for fall/winter 2024 for consoles.

Remember the following:
Series X = 52 RDNA2 CUs with custom ML hardware
PS5 Pro = 60 RDNA4 CUs with PSSR ML hardware

People forget Series consoles have custom ML cores but we have still yet to see great usage of it or Microsoft implement Auto SR into the Series hardware. It has been so far truly a waste of die space on the Series APUs as the ML cores are not utilized and no custom "DLSS/XeSS/PSSR"-like upscaler has been created for usage for Xbox games.

Microsoft's Auto SR: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/directx/autosr/
The only problem is Auto SR currently requires NPU processing hardware, which both Series consoles lack and likely will be in the next generation of consoles for Xbox. Great didn't plan that one correctly for consoles. Like we need an announcement of a custom ML solution in Series consoles any day now. It's been...4 years and still nothing.

Hate to say this though but the PS5/Series release of games will be well into the 2030s, maybe even 2032/2033 stuck with FSR2 grain. The pricing of this gen consoles for 4 years is gonna make sure of it even when a Xbox Series 2X | 2P happens in late 2026/early 2027.

Re: Xbox Series X Teardown Shows New 2024 Models Are More Efficient

kuu_nousee

$449 for digital only Series X
$599 for 2tb disc Series X

Makes the $699 PS5 Pro look like a steal with actual hardware improvements.

We knew this would be the case and only a benefit for Microsoft to sell on a better 6nm node and cut costly parts for maximum profit.
I'll stick with disc Series X as many/everyone else should too.

Re: Reaction: Red Dead Redemption Definitely Deserves A 60FPS Update On Xbox

kuu_nousee

@sixrings my series x is for disc games, 360 bc, and a few online games now as I don't sub to ultimate anymore. I hate it tbh, but Microsoft did it to themselves. I'm either getting a PS5 Pro or will just play majority on PC until Microsoft decides to release some games worth a damn or move on to next generation hardware with a fresh start.

Re: Reaction: Red Dead Redemption Definitely Deserves A 60FPS Update On Xbox

kuu_nousee

@anoyonmus I'd agree a player base thing on Xbox if you mean the majority of Xbox gamers don't buy games. 100% that is true as most of my Xbox friends never buy a game just play what's on GamePass except Madden, College Football, or of it wasn't on GamePass Call of Duty. Then they wonder the games I'm talking about on PC and PlayStation never [or 1-3 years later] make it to Xbox. They literally stopped buying games but GamePass has 34 million payers. Microsoft trained (tricked) most Xbox gamers to not purchase anything anymore.

Re: This Xbox 1TB Expansion Card Is Now Cheaper Than Ever At Amazon

kuu_nousee

Not even close. 4 years on and expansion cards aren't hitting 40-50% off. 2nd worst mistake Microsoft made besides poor execution of getting the better 3rd party games first versus PlayStation. Seriously good Silent Hill 2 remake just released and completely missing on Xbox.

Your better off buying a used Series S to get extra storage space than these memory cards acting as a 2230 Nvme drive.

Re: Xbox Shares Roadmap For Various Upcoming 'Day One' Game Pass Titles

kuu_nousee

If you'd shown me this 2 years ago for end of 2022 and early 2023 I would have been excited. But I'm over waiting for games on Xbox. If they review well and are good games I'll play them that's it. Same for PlayStation the waiting game has been stretched out a bit too long this generation for any actually new video games.

Re: Reaction: PS5 Pro's Extortionate Price Justifies Xbox's Lack Of A New Console

kuu_nousee

As much as I'd like it there doesn't seem to be a reason from the Xbox side. The mid-gen upgrade is simply buy a PC and use GamePass there. I know many people don't want to hear that but that's how they are marketing GamePass now anyways.

Sony doesn't have PS+ on PC besides via streaming so it exists in its own thing. Sony needs their ecosystem of players to stay on console as much as possible to continue selling new generations. The PS5 Pro actually has a reason to exist and well it supports a VR headset.

Microsoft backed themselves into a corner with GamePass support on PC and how would you justify or sell that mid-gen to higher-ups with low/poor sells on current Series consoles? You can't. Their only play is move next generation up a year or two and get a jump on PlayStation 6.

Re: New Xbox Bug Causes Backwards Compatibility Issue For Some Games

kuu_nousee

Stuff like this makes me think Series consoles will just be a straight brick someday, unusable without an existing account logged in and Series X disc game or licensed download. Microsoft definitely wants to kill disc based games and do anything to make it as cumbersome/failure ridden as possible. Thoroughly pisses me off.

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Review (Xbox) - Treyarch Tweaks COD Formula, To Mixed Results

kuu_nousee

Best Call of Duty since Black Ops 3.
Tired of boots on the ground, glad I can flail my body more like Quake and the engine this was built from. Definitely a higher skill ceiling from more movement options.
First COD I'll buy in years.

It feels better to play with keyboard and mouse though than controller, and on PC. Tried all 4 setups XSX controller/XSX KB+m/PC KB+m/PC controller.

I think the issue is keybinds/inputs and you really need paddles for diving, sliding, and crouching on controller.

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Is Available Now On Xbox Game Pass (August 30)

kuu_nousee

Basically no issues on Series X playing the beta. One of the smoother betas for COD, so far at least.

And very surprised how good the movement changes are, especially strafing into a total opposite direction slide cancel and peak a corner. Gameplay improvements really should have been done 5-10 years ago. Seems like a long time coming. Feels more like the Black Ops 2 we should have gotten on 360 as far as gameplay.

Likely one of the first CODs I buy in many years, not just rent.

Re: Final Fantasy Dev Insists The Future Is Bright For Square Enix Games On Xbox

kuu_nousee

@K1LLEGAL To me what is strange with Square Enix is the likely higher selling new games (or IPs) either omit Xbox if that be from exclusivity by Sony or just didn't come from some other decision. They keep bringing the smaller more niche titles that are least likely to sell as well to Xbox then wonder why no one buys anything.
The only exception I can think of are the Nier games.

But like you said the games that do come at least (mostly, Nier games don't) they have the full features of the Xbox ecosystem with Xbox+PC license in 1.

Square are the kings of weird decision making.

Re: Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Not Announced For Xbox, But Don't Lose Hope Yet

kuu_nousee

Whatever the true reason SvC Chaos, MvC Collection, and now this are skipping Xbox. No matter if someone fixes it or not this is 3 game (collections) in a very short time sending out a negative message for Xbox.

@ValentineMeikin Incorrect on PS port unfortunately, I wished it had. It's only ever been on Dreamcast natively, and there was a PowerStone Collection on PSP. That's it.

@ExtremeGamer Yep Jez has been flaky at best even if he did randomly get something right, take someone else's 'leak', or just state something obvious to get Internet points. But he is wrong often too which isn't a good look. Xbox may fix this but officially them nor Capcom have said anything that will lead to the games coming to Xbox. I'd absolutely love to be wrong.

@abe_hikura definitely right it doesn't hurt the brand as much as an exclusive like Indy, financial loss wouldn't be nearly as large. Though a whole community of gamers that love fighting games will just go back to omit the console/brand as a viable platform. And in turn potentially have less reason for Xbox to make another Killer Instinct.

Re: Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Tech Specs & Frame Rate Revealed For Xbox

kuu_nousee

UE5 is heavy even with features turned down.
This game getting a 60fps mode at all on current generation of consoles is an absolute surprise, especially without dynamic 1080p or frame generation like Wukong.

But it still could be dynamic resolution, marketing wording has been ass this console gen.
This gen of consoles was for SSDs not for power.
Maybe PS6/if next Xbox exist will be able to handle UE5 at okay quality/framerates.

Re: Phil Spencer On Game Exclusivity: 'We Have To Anticipate There's Going To Be More Change'

kuu_nousee

@OldGamer999 He likely won't talk about it yet because it's too fresh on our minds and that would be too dramatic. Just wait another year from now the PS5 Pro and Switch 2 will be out to tell us it's not happening anymore.
Then announce a bunch of games for the Switch 2.

If somehow a true next gen Xbox comes out it will likely be digital only anyways. I'm primarily physical purchases on Xbox so it's going to be a hard sell to me.

Though I'd still consider it digital only if Xbox can get 95% of all games that come to PlayStation that is 3rd party. We are still in the 75 to maybe 80% range especially since the majority of Final Fantasy games are still missing, same for half of Team Ninjas games.

Games missing/delayed are still Xbox's main problem for most of us. We end up with another console just for 3rd party games. They find a way to end that problem then maybe you keep gamers even in major change.

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of Gamescom 2024 Overall?

kuu_nousee

One word: Regression
For Xbox, for most of the known publishers and studios.
The only things that were standouts:

-Stalker 2 "dynamic 4k" 60fps mode for Series X
-Monster Hunter Wilds being proper current gen
-Black State from an unknown indie studio pushing Unreal 5 even further than Black Myth Wukong at Game Science.

For real what is up with indie studios showing up the big developers with Unreal 5 development? Good for them but I just don't understand how it's happening OFTEN.

Re: Talking Point: Does Microsoft Have A '30FPS' Problem With Its Xbox Series X|S Output?

kuu_nousee

@Weebleman 30fps only or not, this is what Xbox brand and internal studios are saying is okay for their "default" consoles this generation.

Likely only Indiana Jones will have a 60fps mode day one in a very long time for ANY current generation only video games for their wall powered consoles.

If this was Switch, okay it's super old tablet hardware running games it makes way more sense at a fraction of the power on a battery.

Frame generation exists now on consoles, dynamic resolution has been a thing for 5+ years now too. The VRR wndow is really good on the Xbox Series consoles USE it to your advantage.
What this tells me is sure optimization happens.but why are we not getting the Coliation and Playground Games assisting other Xbox Games Studios with product finalization to have games run their best anymore?

I honestly don't know what Xbox is doing besides just catering just to PC gamers.

Re: Talking Point: Does Microsoft Have A '30FPS' Problem With Its Xbox Series X|S Output?

kuu_nousee

Problem isn't the right wording, I'd say the communication needs to be clear and dry and wait to say anything like PlayStation does at or right before launch.

If a game pushes next gen visuals and ended up 30fps I think most people would understand it's a console it's finite power, it's understandable.

Most of the games coming from Xbox are NOT pushing next gen visuals, be it an art/texture/effects problem or whatever makes it not look "next-gen" problem to many gamers.

I think it's fair to assume Hellblade II, Fable, Indiana Jones, State of Decay 3 and Gears of War E-Day don't have this problem for being more realistic looking then South of Midnight doesn't either because the art was tuned correctly to still look amazing. Though basically the majority of all the other internal Xbox games shown do have a problem with their presentation and if coupled with saying "30fps" is a recipe for people to say something is wrong.

Same for their AA games that don't look next gen if they look fun to play and have a 60fps mode people don't seem to have a problem for that too.

I think when you present a game to be a tent pole game for a quarter or half of a year for Xbox's output = this is what we have and considered our "AAA" output for this timeframe for you as a consumer. It gives the wrong message when a game presented as "AAA" and it really looks and plays more as a AA and is only 30fps.

'Redfall did it, so are we trying to repeat with Avowed?' is what I'm hearing online.

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Comments On Indiana Jones PS5, And Microsoft's Plan Moving Forward

kuu_nousee

@BacklogBrad Fair for now. But as of this moment no game is an exception for Microsoft to turn un-exclusive.

The fact is everything Phil has recently this year said about first party specific games not going to other competing platforms turned out to be untrue. Specifically Indiana Jones.

I hate to be the one to say this but I think everything is up in the air for Xbox currently. And I mean EVERYTHING.
They lied also about no more price increases of GamePass and we are twice over now for changes/price increases just this year.

Even though Sarah said they are building the most powerful console (again) it doesn't mean it will release. It likely will, but again they keep changing their mind so often we probably won't know it's actually happening until leaks of production has started or Xbox announces it officially.

It's a weird time for Xbox, hopefully they can turn this into some positive at minimum with some record sales of games.

Re: Microsoft's New Xbox Series X And S Console Lineup Launches This October

kuu_nousee

@Bobobiwan I basically just buy disc Xbox Series X games. Unless there is a deep sale on something digital or something day one that would typically only be on PS5. But due to how few games release only Series X disc now it's only 2-5 a year at this point.

Sucks to think this is likely the last generation with a disc drive and disc based games for Xbox.

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Comments On Indiana Jones PS5, And Microsoft's Plan Moving Forward

kuu_nousee

@BacklogBrad Your not wrong they do have more internally built games, but they either are one of three things:

1. Not exclusive forever for console and on PC.
2. Haven't reviewed very well versus similar older 1st party games in the past, so the sales and/or GamePass subs haven't translated on console.
3. More people are simply moving to PC over consoles where than can get all 3rd party games (over time typically), all 1st party Xbox games day one, and eventually get the majority of Sony 1st games.

This isn't just the decisions Xbox is making problems, it is related to other decisions by gamers and Sony themselves. 1/3 of it is totally out of their control.

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Comments On Indiana Jones PS5, And Microsoft's Plan Moving Forward

kuu_nousee

@MjJmediablogger Of all the immediate problems Xbox ecosystem has this one is going to begin to come to pass before all the other potential doom and gloom.

Slowly the current or next gen Xbox will turn into the Wii U with less and less 3rd party games... Unless consumers show up for sales, and with GamePass currently chopping the head off Xbox game sales the trajectory isn't a good one.
