Talking Point: Battlefield 6 Or Black Ops 7, Which Xbox FPS Are You Looking Forward To Most?

I'll get neither right away. But I'll eventually only play the campaign and on that note, Battlefield will likely be the one I play first

That title is going to trigger a certain beaver that frequents these parts O_o

On topic - I'm actually keen to see if EA can pull this off. They have a real chance here to put themselves back on the map as a serious Call of Duty contender. If they can make the game play how it looks, I think I'll end up leaning more to BF6 than CoD7.

That said, I'm a sucker for a good CoD campaign lol.

I am looking forward to Battlefield 6 but Black Ops 7 launching on gamepass is hard to beat. I know I will play call of duty on GP, not sure if I'm buying battlefield at launch yet. Depending on how i like the beta and how the reception is at launch, I might end up waiting for the gamepass addition whenever EA puts it in EA play.

Battlefield 2042 got to a really good place, it will be interesting to see where this one is at launch.

I'm going to play both and BO7 will be first as it will be day n date in GP. I'll have to wait for Battlefield until it's in EA Play.

But out of the two I'm looking forward to Battlefield more as the now cartoon skins in CoD are too much.

Hopefully this leads to a hit in CoD player numbers and Xbox adds in a toggle to turn off the skins for folks who don't want to deal with that fortniteification of CoD.

Battlefield. Not pre-ordering it because the last couple have been dogwater though. To this day 2042 is still a train wreck.

I only play Cod for four player, splitscreen, zombies. So unless BLOPS7 has this, BLOPS4 is about it for me.

I will play through the Call of Duty campaign and be done but I will put hundereds of hours into Battlefields multiplayer

Battlefield 6 seems better based on marketing, since COD is basically Fortnite now.

They are both so very different games and Game-play that you can't get the same experience without buying both.

Battlefield is a large scale multiple Squads vs multiple Squads in Combined Arms (guns and vehicles) battles. Its much slower in Pace and are more a Cog in a big machine.

CoD is much smaller scale with individual Squad vs Squad in gunfights on small maps, Get rewarded for killstreaking in a more Arcade like way, Movement and pacing is much quicker and more Action Movie style movement. It doesn't really offer Combined arms - its just you and your weapons, no classes just perks.

You can't get the BF experience in CoD or vice versa and sometimes I prefer to play one of the other because they are so different. BF has more in common with sci-fi shooter Battlefront (unsurprisingly) than Call of Duty which has more in common with Doom and Perfect Dark in a more 'arcade' small arena style battles.

BF3 and BF4 were 'peak' Battlefield eras for me yet BF3/4 didn't 'kill' CoD despite games like Ghosts, Advanced Warfare etc as CoD was 'struggling' with its lack of innovation and repetitive Boots on the Ground 'limited' Combat compared to the Tanks, Jets, Destruction and large scale warfare BF offers.

Point is, CoD players play CoD because 'nothing' else comes close to that more fast paced and 'intense' (albeit intense in a different way) relatively close quarters battles with Killstreak rewards for doing well in short matches of ~10mins which maybe great for shorter or more limited Gaming time.

For BF players, nothing else comes close to playing a soldier in a large scale Combined Arms battle on massive maps. Tank and Air battles rage around you as these big battles rage on and on - lasting 30mins or more - great if you want to get stuck in and play for several hours or more.

Point is, they are both very different approaches to the 'FPS' genre. Yes they both maybe 'military' based with 'grounded' settings compared to Sci-fi or 'cartoon' style shooters. But they as as Different from each other as Halo is or Apex is too. Therefore I can see BOTH attracting their own fanbase of their style of FPS and for those of us who 'enjoy' both styles, will likely buy both and decide on the day, which FPS style I have the time or inclination to play that day.

I play CoD BO6 now - and its probably the most played FPS this year - but only because BF2042 isn't really what I want from BF and Battlefront 2 is probably 2nd - at least from an online multi-player perspective - Doom the Dark Ages is probably 2nd as my next highest FPS game in terms of time played.

Haven't played a CoD since AW. And the last BF I played was BF1. MW2 and BF1 are the best games I played in those series. I haven't seen anything about the BF6 and BO7 campaign. As a campaign only guy I'm waiting for them to show it. I maybe the only guy but campaign wise CoD has always been king. As I didn't like any older BF games. But BF1 really amazed me. I just hope EA can capture the atmosphere of BF1 and make it feel modern with their BF6.

COD has silly skins in multiplayer, Battlefield has always messed it up the last games, with terrible launches every time for multiplayer.

I'll stick with Insurgency: Sandstorm and Easy Red 2👌🏻

I get the feeling that BOPS7 will be pretty much of the same as BOPS6, and I'm burnt out with that now.

Battlefield is definitely a game I want and know I will put many hours into. I'm holding out on any pre-order for sure, and a day one purchase, but I'm seriously hoping that it releases in a good state and get's great reviews.

I will wait for the inevitable buggyines of Battlefield to be somewhat patched before jumping in. No interest in cod anymore since they are going the fortnite way of too cartoony skins. Though it fits more in fortnite than cod

I have almost no interest in either game. Not because I think they'll be bad - they'll cater to who they need to - but because I'm over trying to get into online FPSs. I don't have people to play them with, so I'm just sat there in silence, being s**t 🤣

Like comparing chalk and cheese. I’m more interested in seeing how Delta Force effects BF6 and vice versa.

This is an unfair poll.

One game has single player and multiplayer gameplay out there. The multiplayer game play is the whole match.

The other game has a CGI trailer and the title, that’s it. So, no one should be hyped for this game

I quit BO6 after they added Seth Rogan and the two weirdos from the 90s. I mean I can tolerate a lot, but Seth Rogan was the straw that broke the camels back. Done with COD!

BF6 by a long shot. If they get it right on day 1 and continue to update and improve the game, it has a chance to do really well. Tired of COD with the dumb skins. The game simply lost its appeal to me if tho i like the core shooting mechanics. BF6 needs to get it right and i believe it will. Plus it’s skipping last gen consoles which is always a plus for me.

Battlefield 6. At least every match has possibility of being different due to classes and destruction. COD is just static maps and gameplay. I never understood the appeal.

COD campaigns are incredibly tired at this point. There are many better single player shooters over the past 10 - 15 years in my opinion including the Doom trilogy/Wolfenstein/Halo/Titanfall 2/Metro trilogy/even Farcry! Multiplayer is still fun but I'm getting old and would rather use my gaming time for single player experiences. Saying that, Ready or Not is fantastic (PC player) and even better with friends. I like the look of this Battlefield, I just hope the campaign part isn't overly cinematic or scripted feeling like COD.

Edit: Warzone is still a ton of fun with friends.

BO7 right now. Battlefield has been mediocre at best the past few games for me.

BF6. Was going to hold out after the last one but new vids got me hyped for it. Day one for me. Fingers crossed
