Talking Point: So, What Other PS5 Games Do You Want To See Come To Xbox?

Over the weekend, a new Sony job listing that mentioned bringing more PS5 games to other platforms — including Xbox — spread like wildfire. At the time, we were away from our desks, briskly unaware of all the meltdowns and speculation that of course followed. The TL;DR of this news is that basically, the folks over at PlayStation are hiring an exec to help with the company's multiplatform strategy - which our good friends over at Push Square covered in more detail over the weekend:

And while the heat of that news has now passed, we're sure lots of you saw it and have plenty to say on it, so that's what we're here to talk about today! As you can see by the update in that Push Square piece, we're seeing warnings that this isn't going to be anything like Xbox's current strategy - but that doesn't mean we can't speculate on what's next in terms of PS5 to Xbox ports.

Next month, we've got Helldivers 2 coming to the platform in what will be the first PlayStation Studios release on Xbox, but what do you want to see after that? What do you expect to see after that? There's so many possibilities here, but what's clear now is that Sony is at least willing to port games to other console platforms - ones that make sense, anyway.

Now, we do want to take this opportunity to perhaps dampen expectations a little bit. Despite that move for Helldivers 2 — and this new Sony job post — we're not expecting the full slate of PlayStation Studios games to suddenly start appearing on Xbox. As much as we'd love to play The Last of Us and God of War over on Xbox, we're not sure there's enough here to actually expect those sorts of games to move over, for now. More live service stuff and new IP? Maybe, but Sony will surely want to cling onto its more important franchises for a long while yet.

Having said that, lots of us said the same about Xbox - and yet here we with a new Gears of War release hitting PlayStation 5 next month. The landscape is drastically changing, and we're starting to see hints that Sony will follow along with it, which is certainly cause for conversation. There's also the fact that with Microsoft's new approach to marketing — and the likes of the ROG Xbox Ally — even the term 'Xbox' is being completely redefined, and those lines will continue to be blurred in future.

So, what else do you want to see move from PS5 to Xbox? What do you expect PS Studios to port over? Be as wild or as conservative as you like in the comments section below.
