I bought it on PS5 days ahead of release. I later bought it on Steam when I had reached max level (50? 60? at the time) to see performance difference. Found out that the progression didn't sync, even though I used the same credentials etc…
I'm buying it for Series X since my PC is often occupied by one of my spawns and both of my DualSense drift (PS5 collecting dust til I solder one, I won't buy another).
I hope that cross progression will be a thing til then :'D
I have controllers. 1 Xbox Series, 3 Xbox One, 3 8bitdo Xbox Ultimate (previous edition), 1 Gulikit King Kong 2 Pro, 2 8bitdo SN30, 3 8bitdo Zero, 1 set of Joy-Cons, 2 DualSense and 3 DualShocks… and older gen controllers I have in the basement which I'd rather not count… the controllers mentioned are in use.
My DualSense' and Joy-Con are similar in quality, they started drifting less than a year after purchase. And one of my 8bitdo Xbox Ultimate is drifting. What sets the latter apart (and keeps my interest in buying a new one) is that their software is packed with settings and the issue was easily mitigated into just hardware setting the deadzone and pass it down to my kids (my son destroyed it, he's violent with controllers). It's fixable.
Most controllers I have are taken care of with Krytox-lubing the buttons and a clean out every now and then… Getting screwed by Sony or Nintendo I've come to expect, but 8bitdo… they deliver. I just wish I could buy a controller by 8bitdo for PS5…
Hyped for this one! Even if I don't need it it'd be perfect if all of my gaming stations had hall effect sticks.
As for PlayStation future I’d like them to ramp up VR efforts, I’ve yet to buy in but a reasonably priced and specced VR headset interest me way more than for example the Apple Vision Pro. Their exclusives seem to work wonders for the general public and I’m totally fine with Xbox being considered inferior (each to their own).. I know Kinect was not for everyone, but I wonder what could’ve been if they developed it further..
I currently play (almost exclusively) Helldivers 2. It’s such a good game, loop is exciting and the “team work” shines. Even when you get a 500 kg nuke gifted from friends.. but; my second DualSense just started drifting.. less than a year old. Devastating! So the past week I’ve let my PC stream a higher res/fps/etc stream to my Series X instead, my old (launch day) controller has shiny sticks and is really worn down.. but without drift, still working just as I expect. In general I see Series X as the superior console, solid quality, VRR and HDR works better on my Philips monitors (LG C2 and UltraGear similar).. I get Dolby Atmos instead of basic spatial sound.. etc. It’d be a shame if Xbox is dying, it’s clearly higher tech for me.. I’m fine if it does, everything works out in the end. I play. Don’t feel the need to lock myself in to just one platform but IF I had to choose it’d be Xbox. No one seems to be talking about this and I really like Hifi Rush, Sea of Thieves and Grounded (yet to try Pentiment).. BUT.. seen the rumors of Steam coming to Xbox? That could mean Spider-Man, God of War and Horizon.. not that I’ve enjoyed them that much, I’m only about 70% in on Horizon, 60% Spider-Man and maybe 30% God of War (they’re fun, but too repetitive and I need month long breaks in between). Is it just me? I think the PC published PS5-games weigh heavier in regards to exclusives making the jump.. as for the future of Xbox; I wouldn’t be surprised if they merge back into PC space, becomes sort of a bargain mid-to-high tier PC packaged into biannual spec bumps, cross generation embodied.
This was top of my list yesterday to download. I logged on during the day, multiple times until I read that it would launch 1pm EST (19:00 in my timezone)… even got a bit disappointed when it didn't appear until around 19:40. Seeing Slime Rancher leave Game Pass made me buy the first game, since my old Xbox One now serves the kids room. It's not the very best game out there, but it sure resonates with my kids and I've enjoyed my time in it aswell. We've been looking forward to it since it was announced.
I think it's great that PS5 is so popular and well regarded. People are entitled to their opinions. And they can absolutely form exclusive deals, I liked it when Soul Calibur got a guest character for each system.. Starlink might've been the last to do it that I know of? Anyway, Star Fox is such a cool addition to Switch. The PS5 is a great system for what it is, I'm sure the DualSense will be the superior controller one day when they sort minor issues out… Each have their exclusives though, so you need to catch them all! But when multi-plat games are single player, I tend to resort to Xb-camp. I think it's better at most things … and now cheaper as well? I guess it comes down to what you think of your friends. But without ties to a brand it's really an easy choice this far into the current generation.
@Titntin Yeah, I fine tune almost all of my systems (to the degree of what's possible w/o flashing in new firmware and the like… I draw the line at driver level) Can't stand the speakers in the thing (have it turned off at home, haven't touched it at the office though – we make enough noise to anger some tenants so controller audio is a minor issue there). I'll fine-tune the system some more soon, I got a new monitor (PHV's 279M1RV) and initial testing tell me I should stay away from HDR on PS5, but I might get it working properly… got better visuals on XbSX, but the transition time will probably bug me enough to skip out. It's weird, having both of them, and for example seeing 4K visuals in Spotify on Xbox but a blurry 1080p on PS5.. Most "old" (that is, pre PS5 launch) applications look bad.. Can't stand Warzone and Rocket League for example, so ugly compared. My weapon-of-choice at the moment is the 8bitdo Ultimate Xbox controller and 8bitdo has long had the worst (too strong) rumble, so that's a bit weird of me to claim… hope they form a relationship with SIE like M$ did… great controller, great quality for a very modest sum of money. I'm educated in color control & consistency and work with design/development, in short: I'm a wee bit nitpicky.
No surprise. I’m leaning towards making a purchase on Xb, but I might swing over to Ps if I think the haptic etc is finely tuned. So far I’ve only enjoyed the adaptive triggers/haptic feedback in Astros.. I almost prefer playing Spider-Man on my PS4 to my PS5, the rumble feels broken on the latter. I game when others sleep and so have the audio way down (headphones off occasionally).. and the crap rattles and janks. On my old iPhone XS the haptics works perfectly, a small nudge of vibration etc when I place a card in solitaire.. on PS5 it’s as if you mess up a gear shift driving. Mind you, I experience the same at work where we currently have 3 DualSense (until our last pair of DualShock die or the games we play winding down requires it). That said. If they nail the wand experience to the gimmicks in a good way? Ps! If there is no special wand experience having accelerometer etc? Xb!
Won't renew PS+Extra when it ends in October for me. As it is now it's nice to have the same library as your friends but yeah… Haven't found enough gems yet. I hope they enhance it though and change my mind before I leave. Played a fun Tetris-like (Tricky Towers) and a great cat simulator, but yeah… most other games I've either played already or found no interest in. Will keep pouring time in their walking simulator (so far I prefer Firewatch over Death Stranding), but it feels like I waste time doing something boring just for seeing the cutscenes. Game Pass gives me so much more. Will probably keep PS+Essential though.
I'm all for Playstation being the most popular. It has some great single player games, most recently I really enjoyed Stray. It's really a no-brainer, Ragnarök is imminent and it'll most likely be great like its predecessor.
I prefer my Xbox Series X over my PS5 (the same goes for their accessories), but I also prefer Xbox being the underdog… having team green enhancing their products and services to push gaming into the future. PS5 celebrations are great, it's not like Xbox is suffering or nearing the abyss… Other than Starfield, I really long for Breath of the Wild 2… the latter might get a couple of dreams crushed by my high expectations even.
I'll probably hold out on Ragnarök though, haven't played Forbidden West yet due to its price… Game Pass got me a bit spoiled… and I just got myself a 279M1RV :S
Nah, I've had every Xbox since the first. I held out on Xbox One for a while, but jumped on a couple of years in… Juggling between Xbox series X, Playstation 5, Switch and iOS/Windows at the moment (I've dedicated my Xbox One and Playstation 4 to my kids)… Series X getting a bit more time than the others. I'm a subscriber of Game Pass Ultimate and PS+ Extra, the latter is a disappointment compared but I cling to a sliver of hope… I think Xbox is superior this generation, I prefer the controller, the official headset (have both, you really have to think about what you're doing to control the Pulse 3D compared to intuitive controls of the Xbox Wireless – better mid range in PS5, but in total the Xbox Wireless come out on top) and the hardware/software of the console. My closest friends are Playstation-fanatics though, so it's not collecting dust… the DualSense would've been great if its rumbling didn't rattle as much playing with low to no sound. Feels broken almost. I'm comparing mine to the three I have access to at work and yeah, it's not just mine… and it's battery? A joke compared. Playstation exclusive single player games are good though!
Looks great! A shame most of my friends are PlayStation only nowadays :/ I hope they add a neat match up feature, so that I can wreck havoc with strangers easily.
@Krzzystuff They get to feel that they know more than others. Basic. I prefer being surprised, but if you get to know more than others AND become surprised… win-win.
I (well, my kids and me if I’m helping out) still use a behemoth Xbox One (the one that came right after Kinect was dropped, it’s so huge compared to the PS4 slim that sit beside) almost daily. I mostly play on Xbox Series X and PS5, but other than load times and the drop in graphics etc I think both last gen consoles still work quite well. I vastly prefer Series X over my other consoles though. My Switch hasn’t been hooked up to the TV for a couple of months now… it’s almost unused since Metroid Dread :S
From my perspective code is way easier now than a decade ago… scalability is well rooted in almost every aspect and there should be no problem whatsoever to keep publishing games that work across generations. Sure, loading a few levels simultaneously and switching between them in a split second may require better hardware but even that can be solved by good scalability. I mean, even Sony aims for half of their 1st party to be released multi platform (Windows counts!)… Flexibility is good. Measuring against a minimum viable product is a good way to bash out kinks that bog stuff down, so I’m all for keeping the old dogs around for a while… I’d set the deadline around the time when the next gen shows up.
My best psychical disc memory though has to be standing in line for StarCraft 2, back when games launched in brick-n-mortar stores at midnight, people camped out in the street and the queue went around a few blocks and had some key devs signing copies and cosplay competitions etc… riding the late bus I VNC back to my computer at home, punch in the CD-key and pre-load it before I got home. Back when Twitter was fresh I used to text SMS message-tweets, heh. Been a few wonky setups full geek mode Would never sleep in the street for entertainment media, but hype was real back in the day hurr-hurr… Xbox related; buying the minor unknown title Crackdown just for beta access to Halo 3 and then finding it so fun I missed a few classes
I turn a few pages every now and then, decide not to throw those old magazines away, but it’s a time that passed… and I’m fine with it. They were sooo expensive though. Buying UK mags just for some discs… I live in Sweden.
I look forward to when they turn it into a must-have juggernaut of service. As of now I only find 3 games I’ve been thinking of giving a shot… others I already have or have no interest in. Time will tell!
@uptownsoul Yeah, for their sets absolutely. They make valid points and know stuff, it's refreshing on YouTube I'm using an older Eizo 1080p (great for color work, but it's a bit slow for games). It's like back in the days before widescreen was widespread… Xb could be hooked up to a 5:4 monitor whereas Ps only accepted 16:9 screens. Compatibility. When I upgrade my set to 4K/120fps I'll probably see the same, until then I'm at a loss. It has absolutely nothing to do with Elden Ring
@Medic_Alert Same, Notice no particular gain with the PS5-controller over the XsX-controller… I find the rumbling distracting, it makes weird noises like click/clack when the feedback is initiated (I primarily play when my family sleeps) and the draining of the battery so that I need to recharge it, almost daily? Sigh. I play with a headset that chugs energy (AKG K550's I cut the cord of, currently using off-shelf mic-boom but I'm close to finishing my own, just have to solder it up)… used with a PS4-controller it has to negate the power available to the mic, so that's good at least with PS5's… My Ps-friends thought I had bought a new set… but in all I consider XsX sticking to AA-batteries and tried-and-true components in general (I have a charger under my desk, it's really no biggie to charge them every few weeks) a stroke of genius. My PS4-controller don't hold charge nowadays so I'm evaluating 3rd party batteries (don't mind soldering, but it's neater to just switch batteries). I also notice worse audio through the 3,5mm-port on the PS5-controller compared to my XsX, but that might be due to having an Atmos-license for Xb and no choice of adding that to PS5… It's fine for casual games like Elden Ring , but it's weird switching platforms playing Warzone, it's so inferior on PS5… I'm having trouble hearing where the opponent is, it renders at ~900p (I have a color correct-1080p monitor, on XsX I can cheat the system into rendering closer to 4K which then gets downscaled resulting in "natural crisp anti-aliasing")… but hey, I don't have to compete against TTV-streamers at least so it evens out Gyro would be nice on XsX|S, but I've yet to find a use for it on PS5, playing NSw or Wii I use it all the time. Admittedly Wii hasn't been played in about a year, but most other consoles get their rotation My test-squad (9 & 4 y/o) don't mind, they like all of my consoles but usually gravitate to Xb due to having more games for it (Game Pass FTW! I would never buy Paw Patrol or similar). I like the design of the Dualsense though, I primarily play 3D titles so the sticks fatigue me (a dream controller would have sticks where action buttons/D-pad are), but in all it's great upgrade over the DualShocks before… just not better than the refined fit of the Xb-controller for me… I strayed of topic… I plan on buying the three variants of the 8BitDo-controller, I have 5 of their earlier outings (and love them) and being able to fight drift later on? I'm so on. Mapping is secondary. Mine will be white (like most other HID's I use) so that I get reminded to clean them, my son will have the black cause his hands are always dirty and I've given up… and my daughter's Minecraft Pig-controller has seen better days, I had to glue the rubber back on one stick, she'll have the pink one.
@uptownsoul Yeah, each to their own I like to use my Ducky One2 mini and my featherlight Razer mouse playing Warzone for example, in crisp 4K rendered displayed at 1080p (natural AA)… but mostly I end up with a Dualsense in hand and Ps/WZ seems to render at 900p or something… with pop-ins all of the time… but it's worth it to play only Ps-players (instead of TTV-streamers all over Xb/PC-verse) since I'm crap at it…
@uptownsoul absolutely nothing I meant that Xbox seems to be more visible than Playstation, but I get that more buy it on Ps considering my experiences, that my Ps-friends tend to be "Ps only" and my Xb-friends "just play on multiple platforms". I would probably buy it again on Xb if they consider cross-platform. Aaand if you're playing as a profession, you probably have most consoles. And personally I've yet to find something I consider Ps to be doing better than Xb (other than having more of my gamer-active friends)… I understand if others share the same position.
@uptownsoul Most streams I watch indicate Xbox players though… I'm biased, sure, but I get the feeling that "pure gamers" or "professional gamers" prefer XsX. And who knows, maybe I'll buy it twice down the road (I got D2:R for Xb, Ps and Win for example)… but yeah, I'd rather have Ps to be the popular choice so that Xb aspires to more (so far they've delivered more… but I want mooooore).
@uptownsoul Well, I prefer my XsX over my PS5… but I still bought it on Ps. I have more friends that are Ps-Only than Xb-Only and I'd rather not go into the Lands Between solo…
I bought a really big set of Skylanders (like, a batch of figurines and their designated game until we had all of them) back when everyone was leaving the ship. My kids still dive in from time to time and I keep an eye out for crystals (for the last game, where you could design your own champion)… They're decent, not great, but still a series worthy of reviving. I think I ended up paying about $100 in total, but the MSRP would've been much higher… I think it sums up to 6 games and more than 50 figurines… my kids usually pour all of them out on the floor to find their favorite :S No way that I'm paying full price though. But say they release a new game in a couple of years, maybe I'll pick it up a couple of years after that for other younglings (mine would've lost interest by then)…
@Cherip-the-Ripper Yeah, absolutely. I played a couple of hours of WZ on PS5 yesterday… I had a blast, since PS lobbies can be only PS (whereas Xb lobbies are mixed up and full of PC Twitch TV-streamers)… I actually got a good KD/r. But the graphics are .… similar to PS4. Had XsX, PS5 and PS4 hooked up to the same monitor but I've now moved the PS4 to the living room (so my son can swing around in Manhattan)… so right now I'm writing from memory and I'm to lazy to verify, but I stand by my comment It's not much of a difference between WZ and RL PS4 vs PS5, they're a little bit nicer and load much quicker, but the exclusives like GoW, LoU etc are optimized and lovely. I play on a 1080p monitor, so that might matter… I occasionally set my consoles/games to render games @ 4K so I get "natural AA", but if it's a question of 30 vs 60fps I go for the latter… It might be a case of PS5 refusing to do such a thing regarding the crispness… but the textures are way less detailed on PS5 compared to XsX for me and they shouldn't be. I'm not saying PS5 is a bad console, it's just a little less polished tech wise (I'm not used to siding with M$, I'm generally all Apple and Linux…). Both are great in their own ways! Hey… I dislike Chrome etc due to it's wonky (BAD going by my old color management teachings) way of rendering colors, specifically in blending modes and gradients, and therefore I primarily use Safari… I'm weird. So take everything I write with a grain of salt
Day one. Coming from an Xbox One (the chunky one) I've really enjoyed the speed, compatibility and versatility. Got a beefed up MBP 16", with comparable graphical output, but I prefer the ease of use with console. Since then I've also bought a PS5… but I prefer my XsX. Third party games look better on XsX, at least old games (like Warzone and Rocket League) and I prefer the XsX streaming over the PS5 (I boot up a game during meetings if they're a bit boring) to either computer, tablet or phone. And currently, in D2R the game is a bit buggier playing on PS5 (yeah, I got two copies…uh, stupid friends). So far XsX "is winning", especially regarding games and tech, but most of my gamer friends are "ponies" so yeah… each to their own I guess. I also have a Wii and a Switch and a X1 and PS4 hooked up, ready to go… I currently play on a production monitor (Eizo), but I'm re-prioritizing due to XsX and I'm now looking for a suitable consumption monitor… I mostly do web nowadays anyway and who cares about correct colors? Buttery frame rates is my new priority.
I call my friends who only own (and only ever consider Sony in platform choice) ponies. But there's nothing wrong with Playstation… I prefer my XsX but there are a few gems over on the PS5 as well, the same goes for NSw. I'm not sold on this game though… it looks like the "FPS-dance" is suited for KB/M, so I guess I'm hoping it supports that on launch. If only controller? Nah, maybe?
It’s lacking KB/M support so I had to use a controller (might’ve missed it though). I’m fine with Halo, the controller behaves as I intend it to. In a few matches of BF2042 I did manage to get a 2–3+ K/Dr, but aiming felt a bit clunky. Like a mouse without acceleration. I’d say my stats were based on luck. I’ve been hooked on Warzone for a year now and this is not quite hitting the right spot. But I’ll give it a few more hours of beta test, might change my mind. It looked pretty (except for faces and whimsical rag doll, and while I do appreciate that most of the stuff can be destroyed I’d rather see increments of destruction). If I buy into it it’ll probably be for playing with a select few friends. But it felt a bit stiff and dull. And at times, like while aiming, a bit arcadey. I managed to grapple a shrapnel, that was fun. Reeled me up into the air like a funicular. The grapple is not like in H:I, snappy and exhilarating, but rather a tool to scale vertically. And that’s fine. I also liked the slow parachuting, being able to equip your AR and descend slowly, raining fire. In short; I’m not thrilled, but also not bored to death. I guess it’s OK.
Moar games! If Marvel stuff ends up exclusive to PS, I'm fine. I can has backlog. I just recently dove into PS4 and it's not like Game Pass is slowing down… by the time I'm ready I'm sure there'll be a PS5 mini/slim or something to give me access to whatever exclusive stuff I'm currently missing out on. A PS5 won't fit on my shelf (even had trouble fitting a PS4 slim on the same shelf as my workhorse MBP and XsX). My boss asked if we need to upgrade our office PS4 (or rather our recreational gaming stuff in general) so I might get any PS5 need satisfied over at the office. TLDR; Moar games. I'm happy either way. And I'm absolutely fine if Xbox take the original IP path.
@John117 You have the choose your battles. The Expansion Card is reasonably priced, not expensive considering it’s speed, but unless you absolutely need an extra ~900GiB of 🚀 storage any external drive works fine. I’d rather spend money on a proper display or sound as well. I’m actually considering a retirement for my monitor (I’m a designer and have prioritized color over speed, but now the gaming monitors seem to have caught up to a bare minimum standard… maybe, I’ve yet to see one but I have my hopes up for the latest Ultragear). Regarding sound I’m set, with a pair of bassy Razers and a good old AKG set (retrofitted to handle a mic) but I have a couple of Xbox Wireless arriving soon for that wireless comfort. I like to switch it up.
Interesting. I might do this sometime… although, I have an Samsung T7 hooked up right now for that Game Pass hoarding and it’s speedy enough for some back n forth transfers. It didn’t work as intended (to hold a games library for my slim 200GiB Windows partition on my MBP, it kept disconnecting), but it works fine with my XsX.
@Deadcow Sad to hear that, I’ve yet to slot in some time for this one but I figure I’ll at least try it once before uninstalling it… Glitchy and broken games are fun, but it’s a fine line…
@RBRTMNZ that's my expectation! But I'm just a wee bit tired to hear how I'm such a fanboy etc, especially when it's uttered by a much more obvious fanboy If a game's value exceeds the value I'd get from a trip to the cinema by a factor of three I'm interested, so it's looking a bit slim, but still… I'll probably get a fresh DS4 and sign up for PSNow, to begin with, and later on perhaps find a broken console and fix it up… what's the deal with all the units having a broken HDMI-port? Seems so common, is it a vector to split the signal for streaming or something? To avoid security layers?
I like that the comments above highlight the definition of console wars, but from a sober and distanced view and in the spirit of “gaming first”. Refreshing!
@RBRTMNZ yeah, a shame really. I've been thinking about getting a PS4 to see what the fuss is about … I have one at work, but sadly I've been swamped while there so I need to get one for home to indulge in its … superiority? Having trouble justifying it though, a Switch was easy (me, my girlfriend and out two kids enjoy the N-exclusives, Xbox covers me and my kids… but a PS4 would probably only be for me)… And I have an enormous backlog and GPU :/ I'll probably get a D-shock or sense and PSNow and boot up Windows or something, I could always hook the controller up to something else if PSNow sucks. It's easy to brand 'em, they're kids whose parents only bought them one console. As long as they're happy they can do whatever, Double Fine & Tim will continue to make great stuff and that's what matters Metacritic is what it is. P2 is GoTY for me, even if I hold Halo dear to my heart and I really enjoyed the tech preview of H:I (before H:CE I had no interest in consoles, only PC games, and now I have oh so many games and Xboxes).
@xMightyMatt14x Same here, but really, anything Double Fine is at least Triple or Quadruple Fun. Having a look on metacritic Russians bomb the game due to translation? That's sad. Speaks volumes about metacritic (again)…
Playing the tech preview this took me out of my comfort zone. I played plenty without advancing… decided to see why and made it a calling to finish the challenges. When the TP wrapped I was out of challenges. It was a bit weird, I usually play a bit lazily in WZ, in the game mode “plunder”, just to advance a little when my squad is out and about… my K/D:R is diminishingly low so eh, who gives… but in HI:TP the challenges rekindled something, I had more fun and even against the Spartan grade bots I averaged 3–7KDR. Not that it matter against real opponents, they were easy to predict, but I think this is fine. I’ve stressed about getting all the cosmetics in WZ, but I think once you’ve been part of a HI season everything in it is unlockable later on? As long as they find a good mix of easy and hard challenges, I welcome this.
ODST are fun, but still a bit too easy (I’m usually at 2–5:1 K/DR, and I’m quite average) so I’m looking forward to it! The CSR seems to consider me low level still though, I shouldn’t top the chart every game I play? I mean, there should be plenty of pros and great gamers in the Insider Tech Preview, right? Maybe it sorts itself out once I complete more of the battle pass
Also, occasionally on Bazaar (new map for me today) grapple appears. It’s a fun, surprising way to get up close to someone. Really looking forward to November!

Re: Helldivers 2's Player Count Spikes Massively Following Xbox Series X|S Release
Third platform. Third copy. I'm doing my part.

Re: Xbox Reiterates It's Bringing Activision Blizzard's 'Full Portfolio' To Game Pass
Great to see that they include D4 for Windows as well, bodes well for the portfolio (and my multi-platform habits)
Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Skull & Bones Beta On Xbox?
Yeah… no… might buy if sub $10, no way worth more than that.
Re: Interview: Slime Rancher 2 - Dev CEO Talks Next-Gen Approach & The Future Of Its Slimy Sequel
Re: Hogwarts Legacy To Include 'PlayStation Exclusive Quest'
Re: Hogwarts Legacy To Include 'PlayStation Exclusive Quest'
Re: Hogwarts Legacy To Include 'PlayStation Exclusive Quest'
Xb!
Re: Gamescom 2022 Is Here! Key Events To Look Out For This Week
@BAMozzy Quite the read, I fully agree.
Re: Talking Point: How Would You Compare The New PS Plus To Xbox Game Pass?
Re: Xbox's Phil Spencer Admits The Game He Wants To Play Next Is On PlayStation
Re: Talking Point: Did The Series X|S Bring You Back To Xbox? If So, How Come?
Re: Halo Infinite's Campaign Network Co-Op Flight Is Now Live
Looks great! A shame most of my friends are PlayStation only nowadays :/ I hope they add a neat match up feature, so that I can wreck havoc with strangers easily.
Re: Xbox Leaker Spots Mysterious Twitter Account For 'Legends Game'
@Krzzystuff They get to feel that they know more than others. Basic. I prefer being surprised, but if you get to know more than others AND become surprised… win-win.
Re: Xbox One Is Probably Here To Stay, Whether We Like It Or Not
I (well, my kids and me if I’m helping out) still use a behemoth Xbox One (the one that came right after Kinect was dropped, it’s so huge compared to the PS4 slim that sit beside) almost daily.
Re: Video: Here's A Nostalgic Look At Official Xbox Magazine Demo Discs
Re: Video: Here's A Nostalgic Look At Official Xbox Magazine Demo Discs
I turn a few pages every now and then, decide not to throw those old magazines away, but it’s a time that passed… and I’m fine with it. They were sooo expensive though. Buying UK mags just for some discs… I live in Sweden.
Re: Early Look At PS Plus Premium Shows How It Compares To Xbox Game Pass
I look forward to when they turn it into a must-have juggernaut of service. As of now I only find 3 games I’ve been thinking of giving a shot… others I already have or have no interest in. Time will tell!
Re: Major Xbox Outage Leads To Confusion And Frustration Over 'Offline' Games
Astonishing that gamers lack the nerd genes nowadays. :/
Re: Elden Ring Becomes Biggest New IP In Europe Since The Division
@uptownsoul Yeah, for their sets absolutely. They make valid points and know stuff, it's refreshing on YouTube I'm using an older Eizo 1080p (great for color work, but it's a bit slow for games). It's like back in the days before widescreen was widespread… Xb could be hooked up to a 5:4 monitor whereas Ps only accepted 16:9 screens. Compatibility. When I upgrade my set to 4K/120fps I'll probably see the same, until then I'm at a loss. It has absolutely nothing to do with Elden Ring
Re: Xbox Is Ringing In Spring With This Snazzy New Controller Collection
Re: Elden Ring Becomes Biggest New IP In Europe Since The Division
@uptownsoul Yeah, each to their own I like to use my Ducky One2 mini and my featherlight Razer mouse playing Warzone for example, in crisp 4K rendered displayed at 1080p (natural AA)… but mostly I end up with a Dualsense in hand and Ps/WZ seems to render at 900p or something… with pop-ins all of the time… but it's worth it to play only Ps-players (instead of TTV-streamers all over Xb/PC-verse) since I'm crap at it…
Re: Elden Ring Becomes Biggest New IP In Europe Since The Division
@uptownsoul absolutely nothing I meant that Xbox seems to be more visible than Playstation, but I get that more buy it on Ps considering my experiences, that my Ps-friends tend to be "Ps only" and my Xb-friends "just play on multiple platforms". I would probably buy it again on Xb if they consider cross-platform. Aaand if you're playing as a profession, you probably have most consoles. And personally I've yet to find something I consider Ps to be doing better than Xb (other than having more of my gamer-active friends)… I understand if others share the same position.
Re: Elden Ring Becomes Biggest New IP In Europe Since The Division
@uptownsoul Most streams I watch indicate Xbox players though… I'm biased, sure, but I get the feeling that "pure gamers" or "professional gamers" prefer XsX. And who knows, maybe I'll buy it twice down the road (I got D2:R for Xb, Ps and Win for example)… but yeah, I'd rather have Ps to be the popular choice so that Xb aspires to more (so far they've delivered more… but I want mooooore).
Re: Elden Ring Becomes Biggest New IP In Europe Since The Division
@uptownsoul Well, I prefer my XsX over my PS5… but I still bought it on Ps. I have more friends that are Ps-Only than Xb-Only and I'd rather not go into the Lands Between solo…
Re: Activision CEO Wants Guitar Hero & Skylanders To Return On Xbox
I bought a really big set of Skylanders (like, a batch of figurines and their designated game until we had all of them) back when everyone was leaving the ship. My kids still dive in from time to time and I keep an eye out for crystals (for the last game, where you could design your own champion)… They're decent, not great, but still a series worthy of reviving. I think I ended up paying about $100 in total, but the MSRP would've been much higher… I think it sums up to 6 games and more than 50 figurines… my kids usually pour all of them out on the floor to find their favorite :S No way that I'm paying full price though. But say they release a new game in a couple of years, maybe I'll pick it up a couple of years after that for other younglings (mine would've lost interest by then)…
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Game Awards 2021?
Psychonauts 2 is still my GotY.
Re: Battlefield 2042 Update #3 Makes 'Hundreds' Of Changes, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Not surprised after the beta, they had this coming, but I bet it'll be a lot better come spring. My plate is full, and getting fuller… so I'm good
Re: Reaction: Looking Back At An Excellent First Year For The Xbox Series X|S
Re: Reaction: Looking Back At An Excellent First Year For The Xbox Series X|S
Re: Video: Bright Memory: Infinite Is Looking Promising In New Gameplay
I call my friends who only own (and only ever consider Sony in platform choice) ponies. But there's nothing wrong with Playstation… I prefer my XsX but there are a few gems over on the PS5 as well, the same goes for NSw. I'm not sold on this game though… it looks like the "FPS-dance" is suited for KB/M, so I guess I'm hoping it supports that on launch. If only controller? Nah, maybe?
Re: Battlefield 2042's Beta Has Begun For Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Members
Re: Xbox Is Allowing You To 'Bring Back' Your Old Xbox 360 Gamerpic
@Clankylad I wear the same mask! Heh. Been thinking of updating my pic, but it's been on for so long…
Re: Talking Point: Is Xbox Missing Out By Leaving The Superheroes To PlayStation?
Re: Modder Claims You Can Use A Standard SSD In The Xbox Series X|S Expansion Card Slot
Re: Modder Claims You Can Use A Standard SSD In The Xbox Series X|S Expansion Card Slot
Re: 343 Industries Reveals The 'Key Feedback' From Halo Infinite's Technical Preview
@Kilamanjaro Yeah, especially bringing someone in for a “hug” was great, if only there had been some banshees (and a larger map)…
Re: Surgeon Simulator 2 Suffers A Rough Launch Day On Xbox Game Pass
@Deadcow Sad to hear that, I’ve yet to slot in some time for this one but I figure I’ll at least try it once before uninstalling it… Glitchy and broken games are fun, but it’s a fine line…
Re: Surgeon Simulator 2 Suffers A Rough Launch Day On Xbox Game Pass
@StylesT Isn't that the point?
Re: Double Fine 'Doesn't Currently Have The Budget' To Add More Languages To Psychonauts 2
Re: Random: Even The Director Of PlayStation's God Of War Is Excited For Halo Infinite
I like that the comments above highlight the definition of console wars, but from a sober and distanced view and in the spirit of “gaming first”. Refreshing!
Re: Double Fine 'Doesn't Currently Have The Budget' To Add More Languages To Psychonauts 2
Re: Double Fine 'Doesn't Currently Have The Budget' To Add More Languages To Psychonauts 2
@xMightyMatt14x Same here, but really, anything Double Fine is at least Triple or Quadruple Fun. Having a look on metacritic Russians bomb the game due to translation? That's sad. Speaks volumes about metacritic (again)…
Re: Strangely, Halo Infinite Won't Give You XP For Just Playing Matches
Re: Xbox Head Phil Spencer Has Already Got His Hands On Valve's Steam Deck
@Wyatt006 oh no… Quarter-Life Series Y sounds like a terrible name for the sequel. I hope they just discuss experiences by “your latest”.
Re: Halo Infinite Players Have Already Eliminated Over Six Million Bots
ODST are fun, but still a bit too easy (I’m usually at 2–5:1 K/DR, and I’m quite average) so I’m looking forward to it! The CSR seems to consider me low level still though, I shouldn’t top the chart every game I play? I mean, there should be plenty of pros and great gamers in the Insider Tech Preview, right? Maybe it sorts itself out once I complete more of the battle pass
Re: Xbox Fans Are Really Impressed With The Halo Infinite Technical Preview
Also, occasionally on Bazaar (new map for me today) grapple appears. It’s a fun, surprising way to get up close to someone. Really looking forward to November!
