A rumour of another delay to GSC Game World's Stalker 2 has been floating around lately, originating from Russian source iXBT Games. The claim was that release targets had been pushed all the way back to "2024-2025", however, the developer has now responded, refuting those claims.
Gaming site AltChar contacted the team for comment on the rumour, and GSC Game World responded. The developer reassured fans that the game is still on course for a 2023 release, as announced at Xbox's Extended summer showcase earlier this year.
Members of the development team have also cropped up in Discord channels since the rumour began gaining traction, again stating that 2023 is the "actual release date" for Stalker 2 on Xbox Series X and S.
For now then, the game appears to be on track for release next year, and here's hoping it makes it! GSC's much-anticipated Stalker sequel is coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one, as a timed console exclusive.

This game could be delayed to 2026 and I'd be ok with it. The Devs must be going through a horrible time right now still. Wish them all the best
I hope its next year but their staff's safety is more important and a valid reason to wait longer.

@SinfulDestroyer The exclusivity is only for 3 months, not 2 years like Sony does.
@IOI I read last year that Microsoft has "at least one year of exclusivity" for this game. It was undecided at the time, but it's at least one year from what I remember reading. So, PS will not be seeing this game until at least sometime in 2024. I think it was originally three months, but I think it has since changed because of the delay. Ultimately, who knows. lol.
