Re: Gears Of War: Reloaded Preload Is Now Live On Xbox Series X|S

Valhura

@HonestHickok that makes more sense. Gears was one of my favorite series, never really got into the PVP as I prefer FPS, but I love Gears coop and horde mode and I have also played the first game to death, I would have considered it again if it was a ground up remake but I have essentially played this version many times already.

Re: Talking Point: So, What Other PS5 Games Do You Want To See Come To Xbox?

Valhura

@IronMan30 what's tge point, unless people play it as a standalone title. I never played the 2nd and never will. I dont need some bs shock tactic wokified sequel taking away from a pretty good first game. But yeah if TLOU came to xbox I would advise giving it a play 7 out of 10 gameplay, but decent story and amazing voice acting which elevated the whole experience.

Re: Poll: What Are Your First Impressions Of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers On Xbox Game Pass?

Valhura

@Nintendo4Sonic you comment is dumb, of course more people try games on gamepass, once you have paid for the month you can try as many as you like and stick with ones you like. Gamepas helps the industry because it exposes people to different genres, maybe you only played FPS but tried a turn based RPGs and loved it. B tier and indie devs can have the entire production budget for their game covered to be in gampass, they get the exposure and word of mouth then leading to sales on PC, PS and yes even xbox.

Re: Talking Point: As A Game Pass Subscriber, Do You Still Spend Money In Xbox Sales?

Valhura

I do all the time, normally I wait for sales for all single player games, for example the resident evil remakes I waited to each one went down to about 15 bucks, I have gamepass and a huge backlog so need to pay day 1 prices. I just finished RE3, I still have 4 and 8 to play, but will finish Alan Wake 2 first. Also picked Robocop up in one of the previous sales.

Re: Xbox Reporter Addresses Game Pass Confusion, Says It's Still A Profitable Service In 2025

Valhura

@SeaDaVie again Jesus go look at attach rates for console, average console has 8 games attached, those 8 games maybe bought in sale and only a couple will be first party, so for most of those MS will only get 30% of the sale price, now if they lock you into game pass at the cost of 2 full games a year or 3 to 4 not over a console gen thst uz the equivalent to 16 full priced games, yes there are additional costs but the majority of non 1st part games are Indie, AA or older games so the cost of getting them on the service is low.

Re: Is Xbox Game Pass Unsustainable? Arkane Founder Sparks Huge Debate On Social Media

Valhura

Of course its sustainable if it was managed welll.

The math is down to console attach rates. Take the Xbox 1, the attach rate was 7 to 8 games per console over its entire life cycle. (Attach rate does not take into account the price of the games, just rhe total number of games sold devided by the total number of consoles sold)

Now if you can get the majority of console owners to sub to gamepas for the price of 2 games (2 60 bucks full price games, or now 3) that' alone would be like a gamer buying 16 or now 24 games over an 8 year console cycle.

Its double or triple the normal attach rate, and its at full game prices not games bought on sale.

The service now brings in over 3.9 Billion a year. Moving forward they could fund 6 AAA 200m games a year, 10 AA 50m games a yesr for 1.7
7 Billion, put 800m into costs paying current games on the service and run servers pay staff, and that would still leave 1.4 Billion for tax and profits, and MS does ome seriously shady ***** to avoid taxes.

Can someone explain to me how financially this is not sustainable, also they sell the games they make to non gamepass members on Xbox and PC and now also PS5?

Now if you claim its the quality of the content MS is producing and the time it takes to produce, then yes you might have a point. But Gamepass can alos help Indie and AA game devs survive.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 5-6)

Valhura

@galson mine too, but I got 2 years of game pass paid off and a huge backlog so it will be awhile before I am out but yeah will be minimizing the amount of money MS make from me moving forward, could have lived with the third party thing if the next xbox was able to play my xbox library and have access to steam, but the scummy antics last week just pushed me over thw edge.

Re: Forza Motorsport Team Reportedly Loses 'Nearly 50% Of Staff' In Xbox Job Cuts

Valhura

@Balaam_ Forza 1-4 were the best racers around, then Turn 10 seemed to go to *****. Racing fans on PS would buy a top tier Forza of the quality of 4. Its not like they are swimming in GT releases, they could stager the release so it comes out 2 years after every GT, but hey MS dont know their asses from their elbow when it comes to gaming so they would probably just release it thevsamevday as GT

Re: Two More Xbox Games Are Being Cancelled, Including Perfect Dark

Valhura

@Juanalf no it didn't, it looked terrible with horrible animations, what we saw looked like cg and not in game even. It was shaping up to be another Redfall or worse, Phil wouldn't know a good game if it snacked him in the face. He really should move on. He fooled me , I thought he would save the brand, but he seems to know nothing about gaming or what gamers want, how to sell consoles or manage game studios

Re: Halo Studios Confirms Major Reveal To Take Place Later This Year

Valhura

The announcement is they intend to release 60% of a halo game in 4 years time. Which is a huge improvement over the 50% of a game they released last time after the longest dev time of halo game yet, they will announce the game is again focused on the 8 people who play halo at a pro level to give the 25 people who watch esport halo something to look forward to while causing 90% of casual players to drop the game after 2 weeks of getting stomped. They will promise to make the story line as convoluted as possible and confirm that even after reading 8 books and watching an animated series or 2 you will still only have a 10% chance of knowing what was going on, they will double down on the bland maps, which are all ***** for vehicles and ensure vehicles are made of paper and explode if they hit a bit of grass. I mean just more 343 halo. Can't wait, I guess at least PS fantards will get to play a ***** halo game too so double yay I guess

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want To See From Xbox In The Second Half Of The Year?

Valhura

1. Maybe a game of the year contender, for the first time in over a decade?
2. Less souless 7 out of 10 games.
3. Stop letting Sony money hat all the actual good 3rd party games to keep them off xbox.
4. Stop calling everything an xbox until it can actually play xbox games. A Playstation is more of an Xbox than a quest 3.
5. Figure out what your actual plan is then stop doing ***** that makes you look like liars.
6. Hire a team that is passionate about Halo and give us a good traditional Halo game every 4 years. Hire a team that is passionate about gears and give us a new game every 4 years. Stop making these games to b fir everyone, they should be adult themed, gears should be dark and Gritty. Drop all woke ***** across the board, including making all female characters look like men, if I cannot make my own character in Fable and I am stuck looking like what ever that was in the reveal trailer, I am out.
7. Release an Elite controller 3 that does not have trash build quality.
8. Make consoles with a focus on gamers. How is it that I could set default controls like inverting the Y axis at the system level on 360 but I have to do it on a game by game basis for the last 12 years. Hire someone like Jay Allard or Mark Cerny who at least seems to know what gamers want.

But in that they won't do any of that and will double down on churning out more 6 and 7 out of 10 games while jacking up the price of gamepass and slapping xbox stickers on fridges and toasters, I am probably out.

Probably the only thing that will keep me on their hardware will be if it is a cheap standard PC that I can access my 500 xbox games and steam, GOG and Epic, but for a cheap price other than that I am going PC and will pick up a cheap XSX as a back up to still have access to my Xbox library.

Re: Xbox First-Party Handheld Plans 'Essentially Cancelled', Claims Report

Valhura

Xbox should continue partnering with other hardware manufacturers where they share the dev costs and actually subsidize it a bit to keep costs low, they can just market it for cheap when they do these big shows, they know PC and PS gamers now watch as the games shown will come to their platforms. If the ROG is between 800 and 1000, I project sales of 1.5 to 2 million that is it, it will be very niche, they need to continue with the focus on playing existing games rather than yet another platform devs have to support. TBH if they could get it to play my entire xbox library and support steam and come in at 600-800 I would be somewhat interested
