Re: Talking Point: How Excited Are You For A Potential Oblivion Remake This Month?

Valhura

@Fiendish-Beaver There are some timeless games, old 2d games aged well. I woukd say portal aged well, geometry wars... but yeah some games age pretty badly, with newer games in the genre pushing it so far forward it's hard to go back. MGS1 and 2 are in my top 10 games of all time, but I am sure I couldn't stomach playing them now, theh were of a time and place

Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Now Trailing Almost 20% Behind Xbox One In The US

Valhura

Hardly surprising when MS have given up on competing in the console space, gamepass is their only selling point and that is in on PC, if you don't card about GP then there is zero reason to pick xbox over PS if you are a gamer who wants access to the most games. Either Phil is a muppet or Satya wants rid of the Xbox. Just when they started to potentially get some exclusives that might have driven sales they give up. And shoot the console business in the head. The next Xbox is DOA. Only the really hard-core fans will pick it up without really thinking about the consequences of it maybe only selling half what the series consoles will sell.

At a certain point 3rd parties will stop supporting it as wasting money on a port will be too risky and PS will mop up a bunch of people who are done supporting a company that does not care if they stay or go

Re: Pick One: If Xbox Acquired One Ubisoft IP, Which Should It Be?

Valhura

@Utena-mobile also don't get me wrong I love variety, I am nearly done with Indy, and am about 10 hours into Avowed, and I will be play South of Midnight, and Fable when it releases, I just wish MS would have a few more Gritty adult focused games, like Sony has, or should I say used to have.

Re: Pick One: If Xbox Acquired One Ubisoft IP, Which Should It Be?

Valhura

@Utena-mobile ok but out of all the games MS have in development only maybe Doom and Gears E day could be considered "Gritty" and based on the last 2 gears games E-Day maybe another pg-13 game, hell even doom is pretty cartoony and COD is now a clown show, with anime and TNMT characters running around in what is supposed to be a military shooter.

I mean look at MS line up for the year doom, is it, avowed, south of midnight, towerborne sure ain't Gritty, even fable that got pushed hardly was aiming for a Gritty feel or look.

Re: Pick One: If Xbox Acquired One Ubisoft IP, Which Should It Be?

Valhura

@BacklogBrad "halo, gears, doom, call of duty, wolfenstein, fallout, outer worlds, starfield, etc.

They have PLENTY of shooters but tactical and stealth would be welcome additions for me." first of all fallout, starfield and outerworlds are RPGs with some piss poor gunplay. Doom, COD and Wolfenstein are 3rd party games, and a part from COD, Doom and now wolfenstein games are few and far between

Re: Hands On: Assassin's Creed Shadows Feels Like A Timely Refresh For The Series

Valhura

@Rob3008 not triggered by the game at all, I just hate DIE immersion breaking, pandering forced and shoehorned into my entertainment, it's bad enough I have to deal with this crap in the work place or worry about how it will negatively effect my kids in their education and careers, I now cannot escape it in my escapism entertainment.

I have no problem playing as a black protagonist, or any race that is not my own or a female, I have done so many times in many games and will do so again, the difference was those characters were not created to achieve some BS ESG score. But again if this is the future you want for gaming, by all means support it with your hard earned cash

Re: Talking Point: Will The New '2027' Xbox Console Have Steam Support?

Valhura

@Fiendish-Beaver sorry I was not clear, what I meant by "cut a deal with steam" was they find away to profit share steam games bought on the steam store on the Xbox hardware. So MS get say 95% of MS games sold on steam store on xbox, but take say 10% or 15% of PC games sold on the steam store on xbox hardware as it does open the steam store to say another 30 million devices compared to just the PC market. I am not sure what the % would be that would be acceptable to both Valve and MS but I am sure the bean counters on both sides could come up with one that is beneficial to both, without such a deal there is zero benefit to MS allowing any other store on their hardware as it would just mean the potential to lose even more profit fron sales of their own games and that 30% cut they take on 3rd party games. It would also allow MS to make a little bank off Sony games sold on the Xbox hardware steam store, and also make Sony extra money as they too would have access to say 30 million additional consoles, it would be a win win all round and Sony would not have to face the wrath of the PS fanboys

Re: Talking Point: Will The New '2027' Xbox Console Have Steam Support?

Valhura

@Fiendish-Beaver the hardware is sold at a loss on the console side and made up on the software side in a closed system. The only way a hybrid would work is if they cut a deal
With steam and sold the hardware at cost, that way they could price match steam and not care if you bought in the xbox or steam strore

Re: Xbox Leaker Believes Gears Collection Is Real, Will Launch On PS5 Day One

Valhura

@Kaloudz dude they said XSX is the most powerful console on paper, turns out when you are not the lead platform devs do not put in any extra work to take advantage of that power, PS5 has had way better versions of many games even though it's supposed to be inferior tech. Also, as an X1 gamer, I remember their BS about the power of the cloud, don't worry we tried to sell you a more expensive console that was lower power the cloud will fix it... we got crackdown, now I loved the og and 2 was a cheap cash in but I was expecting so much more from we got

Re: Soapbox: As A Huge Forza Fan, I'm Fine With Horizon 5 Going To PS5

Valhura

@NeoRatt Not sure what I said that is not factual, Redfall, Flight SIM 2024, Crackdown, Hellblade walking sim borathon. Archaic Starfield. No Halo for 10 years then we get a game with serious multi-player issues, about 30% of the content of a normal game, bland open world with no variation out side or inside, Gears of war franchise gone full bland, fighting toasters, no dark gritty setting, Forza, huge wait for the worst game in the series, terrible decisions made with campaign and MP, fell way short of GT in terms of graphics even though it came out after GT and had a longer Dev cycle, I could go on but you get the picture. Also a platform needs to sell a critical mass of consoles to get third party support, once it does not you have a Dreamcast WiiU situation where both had great exclusives but 3rd party abandoned it. So this is the trajectory Xbox is on. I have been an Xbox gamer since the the OG xbox, I have over 400 owned games in my xbox digital library and close to 150 physical games in my 360 og xbox library. I own an XSX so I really dont think I need your permission to comment on things that directly effect me as an xbox consumer. If you want to stick your head in the sand and think xbox putting their games on PC and PS5 won't reduce sales of xbox when we see the proof in every sales update you do you.

Re: Soapbox: As A Huge Forza Fan, I'm Fine With Horizon 5 Going To PS5

Valhura

@NeoRatt it's not about being a victim it's about xbox sending a message we don't care if our console platform dies, there sales are down, due to going a whole gen with practically nothing and launching this gen with very games then, all the flops followed by all the mixed messaging to the point everyone now knows they plan to release all future games on PS meaning gamepass is the only reason to own an Xbox, but not all games release on GP so third parties are not gonna support a console the platform holder has given up on. And sorry MS don't have enough quality first party games to have them be enticing enough to purchase a console for alone. So they might ***** out some hyper expensive PC like box next gen so they can claim they were not lying about leaving the console space but it will be DOA. As someone who has gotten used to having most of my games available on one device it will suck that I will have to have an XSX taking up space next to my PS6 or gaming PC or what ever I get next gen, it sure as ***** won't be a system that will receive the fewest next gen games which the next Xbox will 10 times fewer than the XSX
