Dying Light Is Getting Free Visual Upgrades On Xbox This Week

It's now been over 10 years since the original Dying Light first debuted for Xbox One back in 2015, and yet Techland still doesn't want to give up on it - announcing this week that the game is getting visually enhanced as part of a new update.

The update is called Dying Light: Retouched, and Techland is keen to stress it's not an overhaul or even a remaster, but simply visual "enhancements". Texture quality has been improved, lighting has been improved, shadow quality has improved, and the soundtrack actually has been remastered - complete with new tracks and ambient sounds!

Here's a look at some comparison images showing what's changed in terms of the visuals:

The team at Techland goes into a lot more depth about all of this on the official Dying Light website, so be sure to go and check that out if you're interested. They're obviously also promoting Dying Light: The Beast right now, which is the new game in the series that's coming out for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on August 22nd.

In terms of the free Dying Light: Retouched update, you'll be able to check it out on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S at some point on Thursday, June 26th - and keep in mind that "the level of changes may vary by platform".
