Re: Major Game Maker Reportedly Questioning Xbox Support Amidst 'Falling Sales'

Rodimusprime13

@lacerz I simply don't buy, "It to hard to develop games for the Series Xbox" when more and more developers are actually releasing games for the Series Xbox. I can see way more developers releasing Xbox versions of games for the Series Xbox then the Xbox One. The parity clause means developers have to make there games work on both the Series X and S, but it does seem that MS will allow certain games to remove features with permission from MS. The only major developer that doesn't release games for the Xbox is NIS America. Ubisoft, EA, Square Enix, Atlas, Sega all release games for the Xbox, so I am struggling to think of an another major game publisher.

Re: Major Game Maker Reportedly Questioning Xbox Support Amidst 'Falling Sales'

What I think the bigger issue is that if a developer doesn't bother with a Xbox version they right off the bat limit there potential sales, and I suspect that most developers realize that the series Xbox is a growing platform and creating games just for the Xbox will limit sales. And some developers will only release games for the Playstation and Switch no Xbox version. At the same time if a game can run on the switch there is no reason why a developer can't make a series Xbox version. And this " so called developer" is never named( perhaps it's Sony?)

Re: Xbox Users Are 'Gutted' About The Latest Microsoft Rewards Nerf

Rodimusprime13

Personally I never saw many of the extra rewards that were available. The weekly quests were always available but the monthly quests were only introduced for about 6 months then they permanently disappeared. The sale push cards and the 3 movies over $5 were good more disappointing they left. But I am happy that they lowered the point cost for the $5 gift cards and you can get points just for playing on the Xbox. What would be nice is if they brought back points offers, were if you bought x amount in games you got x amount of points.

What I see is that right now more and more games that were exclusive to the Playstation getting a series Xbox release. I will admit the X1 is all but dead but the series Xbox keeps getting more games. Yes a handful of developers don't like the Series S, but they just have to reach out to MS like what happened with Baulder's Gate 3. Perhaps the sales on the Xbox aren't increasing but I believe the Playstation 5 is leveling off the same.

Re: Talking Point: In Your Opinion, What Made The Xbox 360 Era So Incredible?

Rodimusprime13

The x360 was original with a wide variety of games that were fun to play. The Wii sold the most consoles but has anyone played the Wii games, most were a near nightmare to actually play. The biggest problems with the X1 was the forced Kinect 2.0 and believing adding a HDMI input for TV would be hugely successful. The ps4 was successful even though it only supports 1 external usb over the 3 the x1 supports and the ps4 can only play DVD in 480p, but blu ray discs are fine. The X1X and X1S have a 4k blu ray player but I doubt many people actually used it.

Re: Xbox Fans Are Noticing Subtle Price Changes For Microsoft Rewards

Rodimusprime13

It nice that in Canada they have reduced the points needs for a $5 gift card from the 4800 points to 3565 that you now need. Unfortunately there is considerable less ways to earn points. Outside of the game pass rewards the only other option on the Xbox is the rewards app which still gives the weekly quest (for now). Before the rewards app offered monthly quests but that only lasted a year before disappearing. There was also a punch card every month for buy 3 movies over $5 which gave ~2400 points. They also had punch cards for buying so much in movies or games that were on sale, now permanently gone. I hope they keep give the weekly quests, I was on a 70 week streak and unfortunately it got reset.

Re: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Producer Defends Lack Of Xbox Series X|S Release

Rodimusprime13

There was no reason that FF7 couldn't of been run on the X1, even the base model would of worked, in my opinion. Both intergrade and rebirth should run fine of the series Xbox, might need minor tweaks for the series S. SE signed a 3 month exclusive deal with Sony, so anytime after that the game has the potential to get a Xbox release. At the same time after playing FF7 remake I really am not concerned about a Xbox release since I found it underwhelming. Still most other JRPG games get a Xbox release, outside of games by NIS.

Re: Xbox Fans Share Their Disappointment As Two New Games Skip The Platform

Rodimusprime13

I have not been overly interested in the Monster Hunter Games, but I would like to see the Gundam games getting a Xbox release, the last Gundam games to get released for the Xbox were Dynasty Warriors Gundam 1-3 for the x360. I also get that the Gundam games are kind of a Niche game so I am not overly surprised that they don't want to make a Xbox port.

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of The Xbox Kinect?

Rodimusprime13

Both were a mixed bag. The games for Kinect on the x360 were fun, were very short. The Kinect did require to be properly set up, but you only had to do this once, unlike the Wii which forced you to setup the Wii remotes every time you played a Wii game. On the X1 Kinect had potential but forcing integration into the dashboard was a mistake. Kinect 2.0 was basically dead at launch since MS didn't line up a collection of games at launch. If Kinect used some form of handheld sensor it would of worked much better.

Re: These 10+ Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (January 29 - February 2)

Rodimusprime13

I find game pass is ultimately worth the money at the end of the day. I will admit it is heavily focused on indie games but when 90% of new titles are indie games it is inevitable. Still get some good full priced games and there are lots of titles that I'm on the fence and game pass gives me a chance to play it, perhaps finish it, perhaps buy the game or perhaps find the game isn't worth playing and I don't waste money on a bad game. Starfield and Redfall are both in the category of, it looks like a good game I might buy, but once I actually play the game I realize it's not for me. Decided to grab the persona 3 portable and persona 4 bundle before it left game pass after checking out the game. Persona 3 reloaded looks cool. Turnip boy robs a bank is fun, likely wouldn't pay $30, but playing it with game pass is cool. The upcoming 100 heroes game look good as well.

Re: Rumour: Xbox In 'Discussions' With Square Enix Over Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Rodimusprime13

@NoLifeDGenerate The EDF games on the x360 were kind of a joke at the time and likely poor sales had alot to do with it. The first two sell for $20 on the Xbox store but the third game still sells for $65. The other game they produced at the time Ombajana Bikini Squad ran terrible on the x360 and has only recently be added to the Xbox one store with backwards compatibility, it is now available to purchase and finally works much better on the X1 or better. I think Xbox doesn't see much value in getting the game, at least that is my opinion.

Re: Rumour: Xbox In 'Discussions' With Square Enix Over Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Rodimusprime13

I believe they have it slightly wrong. FF7 remake is not going to get released on the Xbox one. FF7 intergrade which released for the ps5 which will be bundled with FF7 rebirth is likely to get released for the series Xbox at some point. FF7 rebirth only has a 3 month exclusivity window which means a Xbox release is more likely. I don't know the exact reasons but FF7 remake version can't get a Xbox version at all, and that is likely why SE created a new version I believe.

Re: UK's Biggest Video Game Retailer Reportedly Stopping Trade-Ins In 2024

Rodimusprime13

In Canada there is Gamestop, which has largely become ToyStop, and carries largely new games with a small handful of pre owned games at 5 -10 off the price of new games. Gamestop always wants to sell preorders rather the sell the limited selection of games at inflated prices. Gamestop was everywhere but in recent years they have closed stores and only have a handful of locations anymore. Gamestop does still buy games, but you only get a small amount of store credit which isn't worth much. Gamestop had a rewards program around used games that they recently scrapped.

Re: Limited Run Gets Brutally Honest As Xbox Misses Out On Two New Ports

Rodimusprime13

I noticed even before the ps5 series Xbox launched that Walmart scaled back the number of physical games they had overall with Xbox taking the biggest hit. With the Xbox series S there is less reason no reason to get physical games anyways. Also lots to of developers have move away from releasing games on the Xbox one, and often either go with the Series Xbox or nothing. Given the success of the ps4 it will still get games, but on the flip side gamers are less inclined to upgrade to the ps5. The Xbox one has little of any new games and with the Series S being super cheap there is a big incentive to upgrade.

Re: Talking Point: What Has Your Experience Been Like With Refunds On Xbox?

Rodimusprime13

I have never tried to get a refund but I quickly noticed that you can only get a refund for games with a short window that you haven't played very much. If you haven't played a game then you might be able to get a refund for up to 2 - 3 months but if have played any game more than 2 hours there are excluded. Even if you don't play a game after so long, it is not available for a refund. I don't buy games unless they are on sale and cheap enough so I am happy with the price. And game pass is great to check out games that I might be interested in, if I like it and it cheap I'll buy the game. With new games selling for $90 dollars and refunds are hard to get, it worthwhile to not be impulsive.

Re: Xbox Has Changed Game Pass Quests For 2024, And Fans Aren't Happy

Rodimusprime13

It's always win some, lose some. The other weekly quests were good but I am guessing lots of gamers just started the game got the points then immediately quit the game. Same with the 250 weekly quests likely gamers were doing the minimum then again quitting the game. Just speculation but who knows. At the same time it since to see the 500 and 1000 quests have lower weekly requirements which was frustrating to bother with.
