Re: The Best Xbox Soulslike Games NOT Made By FromSoftware

Rodimusprime13

Another that should be on the list is Flintlock The Dawn of Siege. It very much a soul like, but it's challenging without being near impossible and there is a clear objective to complete. Wasn't a huge fan but you slowly warmed up to the game. It's on game pass and frequently goes on sale.

Re: Xbox's New Job Advert Is Amazing News For Backwards Compatibility

Rodimusprime13

My interpretation is that MS is making some major changes to the next Xbox unlike the Series Xbox which has seemed more like a minor enchantment then a major change. MS is likely to copy Sony with the changes from the ps4 to the ps5. So lets say the Xbox Series 2 will be able to run all the Xbox Series and other BC titles along with the new Xbox Series 2 titles which will be enhanced for the Xbox Series 2. Just my guess.

Re: Digital-Only Xbox Series X|S Consoles Have Accounted For 75% Of Sales So Far In 2025

Rodimusprime13

Made the switch to full digital with the Series S. On one hand I kind of miss physical games but they are increasingly hard to find and they seem to only generally sold at full launch price. But it's nice to get rid of the clutter with all the physical games. I believe another issue is that MS has to pay Sony to use the Blu-Ray format for game disc, and enhanced capability disc cost more. MS should try to release there next Xbox console cheaper than the PS 6 since they are guaranteed to sell better.

Re: Xbox Seemingly Blocks Upcoming Release Due To 'Provocative' Content

Rodimusprime13

I personally think the issue is that the game is likely being released for the Xbox before other consoles which tends to make MS way more carful on what is in the game. If a game, like Baulder Gate 3 was released on Xbox first it would be a problem for MS. Then again if Sony got it first for the Playstation then it perfectly fine for the Xbox version to be the same. Totally absurd but that tends to be how it works.

Re: Indiana Jones PS5 Fans Not Happy With Xbox's Physical Media Habits

Rodimusprime13

I shifted to fully digital with the Series S and don't really miss having to deal with physical disc. I previously wanted all games in physical format but realized that you just end up with too many games you don't want to play and they take up space. The x360 was awesome since all games could be played straight from the disc. But with the X1 all games needed to be installed which make it hassle to check out an new physical game you just bought. Another issue that I have found is that physical Xbox games are a lot harder to find then before and they are almost always selling at full release prices.

Re: Ubisoft Lawyers Say You Can't Complain About Being 'Deceived' By The Crew's Shutdown

Rodimusprime13

My attitude is never buy any game day one since you're better off waiting until it drops in price. Online games are lots of fun but the problem is that they go offline and the whole game vanished most of the time. Most online titles usually only last a few years before they are permanently shut down. The gamers will likely lose the lawsuit but it the only other choice other then giving up. I don't know much about the particular game but they could of easily claimed that the would always be available but had stated in the standard 50-100 page term of use that they could shut down the service at any time.

Re: Video: Phil Spencer Shows Off 'Secret Xbox Lab' For Next-Gen Hardware

Rodimusprime13

@TheGameThrifter Well perhaps MS hasn't delivered as many games as they could but they have released more games than Sony has. Since Xbox series X have become hard to find I personally think it an indication that the next generation Xbox is on it's way reasonably soon. My guess is that the next generation Xbox will be revealed in late 2025 or 2026.

Re: Former Xbox Exec Throws Shade At Switch 2, Says It's A 'Hard Pass'

Rodimusprime13

I predict that scalpers will buy up every available Switch 2 then turn around and sell them at absurd prices on ebay. After the the die hard fans have gotten there consoles the sales will drop off since both the ps6 and next generation Xbox will be launching. I also predict that the next generation Xbox will be launching in 2026 likely in the summer. It's very hard to find any Series X that are available for sale likely due to MS shifting production to the next Xbox. My prediction is that the next generation Xbox will launch at close to the price of the Xbox Series X.

Re: Switch 2 Feature Reminds People Of The Disastrous Xbox One Launch

Rodimusprime13

I see a few big problems. The launch price is $630 or $700 with Mario Cart. The ps5 w/ disc is $650 with the Series X around the same price, if you can find one. The voice chat sounds good but it's only for paid members, just like xbox gold and could be problematic if not monitored. Lots of features but not all of them are particularly useful. And they are introduced Switch 2 versions and offering paid upgrade from the Switch, very much like the ps4 to ps5 instead of the smart upgrade like the Xbox. And they are continuing the trend of offering older titles via paid subscription only, not something I am a fan of.

Re: Sony Causes A Stir Among Xbox Fans With Black Myth: Wukong Comment

Rodimusprime13

For the most part exclusive game deals from third party developers are usually time limited and they bar the developer from releasing the game on a rival console. After the lock in time that is were it gets murky. Often there are hidden sales numbers that if they exceed them they might pay the developer and that might not be in the contract. The console developer might also agree sometimes to keep paying to keep the game on there console only, no payment developer is free to release for other consoles. Then there is the most tricky issue is were the console has bought the IP from the developer and they now have complete control over the game now and in the future. Then of course you have developers who simply decide on only releasing games on the console platforms they want to.

Re: GTA 6 Launch Could Cause Delays At Three Major Publishers, Says Report

Rodimusprime13

I think that there are two issues. Developers will likely try to get there game out before fall 2025, or they will shift there game to early 2026, which means they will be after the supposed GTA 6 launch. GTA 5 did well since there was nothing like it at the time, and it was above the average game. Now there is so many games getting released the biggest threat might be smaller titles like Tunic or Balango. And what is GTA 6 going to actually look like, a game that has a excellent story that has a added on multi player or it will move towards a live service game like Destiny 2 or Fornite. I will bet that they will lean towards live service with you paying per season.

Re: Ubisoft Plus Gets Massive Discount On Xbox Ahead Of Assassin's Creed Shadows Launch

Rodimusprime13

My opinion is that most game subscription are rarely worth it. Sure initially you get a good collection of games, but after checking out what is actually available, very often you only find a handful of games that are actually worthwhile playing. For most game subscription services the value of remaining subscribed goes down the longer you keep the service as you either finish the game you want or game your interest in leave the service. Of the various game subscriptions I still think game pass is the best option, but keeping it is pricey with the price hikes.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Down Almost 50% As Fans Question Stock Levels In Certain Regions

Rodimusprime13

@Kilamanjaro Not a bad idea so long as the consoles have reasonable shipping costs. I think the biggest mistake was outsourcing the memory card to a third party which has inflated the price. Everything should be available from MS with the possible option for third party accessories. I think they are intentionally under stocking to gear up for the next Xbox console. I think it possible they might launch a new console in fall 2025 or sometime in 2026.

Re: How Microsoft Managed Xbox Brand 'Is Not My F**king Fault', Says OG Xbox Creator

Rodimusprime13

The original Xbox was technically far superior to the ps2, since it included a 20 GB hard drive and had a ethernet port. The ps2 only had a hard drive and ethernet available as a add on for Final Fantasy 11, which was the only game which used it. The x360 gained popularity due to the launch price of the ps3. The inclusion of Kinect with the X1 hurt the X1 and allowed the ps4 to gain market share. The dual launch of Series S and Series X was a unusual but proved successful for MS. What I see is that MS is producing more games for the Xbox, a wide variety of games.
