Nothing new. The original Transformer and Transformer 2 for the x360 had in game adds which added ads inside the game, while you were online. I believe it was the same for the ps3 version.
Halo 3 ODST was a mix mashup of lots of different things thrown together. It was the first time you had a game that didn't focus on master chief and they did try something new. It was a mix of Resident Evil which was kind of interesting. The x360 version had terrible loading times but the Master Chief remastered version was better.
The tentative dates that I can see is Disney Sep 1, Parking, Slime 2 and Spider are Sep 15, Payday 3 Sep 16, Paw Patrol and Ace attorney Oct 1, and Solar Ash and Lies of P are March 16, 2025. The rest of the others have no information.
I doesn't matter if you wait to see it live. About a hour or two after the presentation is finished you can see everything YouTube, and you can skim through the presentation and only focus on what you're interested in.
I will admit Hogwards looks good but right now Steelrising Baselle Edition is on sale and that is what I am getting this week. Perhaps I'll get Hogwards another time.
Who care what Toystop thinks. The selection of games has drastically decreased over the years and its challenging to even find current generation games at Gamestop.
I don't see any point in getting themes that can only be used on the x360. About the last game I intend to get on the x360 is Tron which is the port of the original game which was released for the Atari 2600.
Actually much of the problem is the way MS wants to refer to the Series Xbox. MS insisting on calling it, Xbox Series X/S rather than just shorting it to Series Xbox. If MS stopped calling it Xbox Series X/S and just said Series Xbox it would make more sense.
Well I personally took advantage of loading 3 years of Xbox Gold and waiting for the offer and for $1 it was converted to 2 years of Game Pass Ultimate. So I have Ultimate until 2025. Still might grab a Xbox Gold 1 year which should extend my Ultimate, not sure now long but it might be worth it.
What they need is a corporate rebranding for Xbox. My suggestion is to move the corporate headquarters of Xbox outside of the US to Canada. Vancouver or Toronto would make nice places to operate from. Then suddenly Xbox is a Canadian company. Might give the Xbox the boost it needs. London Ontario would also be a good place for a corporate headquarters.
The last games I preordered were Transformers War for Cybertron and Transformers Fall of Cybertron. I believe I also preordered each of the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy.
They might limit the market's available but I doubt they wouldn't focus on the Europe since it's a huge market. But this would also suggest that MS is focusing the Xbox in North and South America along with Asia, which are also big markets.
I find that the value of game pass is kind of overstated and it all coming soon rather the what currently available. Like the EA games are nice, but it's largely sport's titles and EA titles are only available 3-6 months after release. I might find 1-2 titles out of 10 I check out that I actually want to play. Most of the "good titles" are time consuming and are often better to just buy rather then try to finish it on game pass. For me the best part of game pass is to check out the full games and see if I actually like the game. Then it's can I finish the whole game in roughly a day, then I'll just play it on game pass. If I like it, but I'll take over a week or so of playing to finish it, perhaps I wait until it goes on sale and just buy the game. I thought Redfall and Atomic Heart would be good games, after seeing them on game pass I realized they were a hard pass.
Hard to tell which is better for me. I like Ultimate but Game Pass Standard sounds not bad, since all you lose is the EA catalog which is not that big, and I don't need to play games day 1.
I am happy that the points needed for a $5 Xbox card dropped but the points needed for Ultimate remained the same. I do like the play 5 times a week and get 250 points but I just stopped bothering with the game pass rewards, even though I have Ultimate since It's such a bother to get the 1000 points. But you do get points for using the Xbox app which is nice.
I have already gotten several good deals but there are lots of games that are still full price and haven't dropped, yet. Hoping to see Bullet Witch, X-Blade and Gauntlet 7 sorrows drop in price. Might get a few more if they also drop in price.
To me what matters is how the graphics look and how smooth the frame rate is. To me you don't need every game to support every feature in 4k and have 120 frame rate, it just needs to look nice and smooth. What I have found is the Playstation is better with slower graphics transitions like Asendia Rising and Sonic Plus, but for action oriented games like Devil may Cry, Witcher 3 I always prefer the Xbox.
As much as I enjoyed my x360 the Xbox store has gone down hill with the Metro redesign. And more and more games have been pulled over the years there is almost nothing on the x360 store at all. I think MS just can't keep the x360 store running in it's current form and they have no way to fix it. The only reason the ps3/vita stores are still available is Sony was likely able to downgrade the store to there original launch non web versions.
Hard to say. A former developer on the game was surprised that the game was released in the was it was and thought it needed a full rework. I think MS/ Xbox just figured it was better to just release the game as it, take the hit and move on to other games/ projects. Perhaps with the final patch I might play and finish the game. Like Far Cry 5 it's like better played after having a few beers or so.
The problem with GTA 5 is most of it's sales are from the original x360/ps3 version which launched without multiplayer. Rockstar has made so much money from the online version they haven't bothered with a new GTA 6, until now. I don't know what Rockstar is going to do with GTA 6, but I think they are going to go for live service/ multiplayer focused and the single player is likely a minor aspect of GTA 6. I don't know why creating weather is important, not something I want in a game but Rockstar seems to think it's important.
Valhalla killed off any interest I previously had in the series. Finished Odyssey and that's good enough for me, don't feel any need to play anymore games in the series, ever. And I've played all the previous games from the first game on the x360. The problems with Valhalla and Mirage was I was bored playing the games, and if that's the case, even if it's a easy achievement game I almost always stop playing and never touch the game again, ever.
I did have an original Xbox and it did have lots of unique games but the X360 is largely what got me into the Xbox. The ps3 launched selling for about $700 where I am so the price immediately turned be off getting a ps3 and I went with x360 instead. Grabbed a x360 for $400, $100 off the regular price. I also enjoyed getting achievements for playing games since this was a first. Even with other consoles my Xbox consoles are my main consoles.
I personally think the whole Activation was a big mistake and has backfired because it was too big and was not given a chance to succeed. The COD titles were a huge money maker but it massively inflated the price and if they did a deal without COD and just everything else they could of gotten all the older games and the King mobile at a fraction of the price. Perhaps I'm wrong but this is what I think the problem was.
I would say what Xbox is trying to focus on new markets rather then just stay tied down to the Xbox consoles. The biggest issue is if these new markets will actually be profitable. One of the biggest problems is that new consoles or new platforms need games otherwise they don't go anywhere. Another issue is that even with excellent games you still need good marketing to get people to try the games. It seems to be both Sony and Microsoft are limiting the games they want to produce.
There is a good reason why the ps3 store is still available but that the x360 store will be shut down. For the ps3 Sony had an older version which was not web enabled then they later upgraded to a web enabled version. It seems that Sony was able to roll back the store on the vita and ps3 to there older versions. For the x360 the interface was changed multiple times but I believe much of the core functionality remained the same. MS did patch some kind of glitch which allowed demo arcade games to be unlocked without paying, likely there were more problems. I personally feel that the Kinect/Metro designs killed off the x360, at least in my opinion.
My attitude was with the launch of the Series Xbox the x360 was completely dead. The x360 console was a rocking console when it was released, despite it's limitations. Unfortunately games got pulled from the x360 store and the final update with the metro design was terrible. I see lots of old x360 and original x1 consoles at my local game store, I don't think many people want them anymore. They even have lots of x360 games for sale, I think they largely stopped buy anymore because they don't sell.
I can only see marginal differences between the Series S and the Series X. Given the marginal differences in performance between the X and S and the fact the Series X is basically double the price of the Series S, I believe the Series S is the way to go.
I personally am quite happy with the new MS rewards program. The cost to redeem for a $5 Xbox card is lowered and it's easy to get free points with minimal effort. I have be getting $5 gift cards every month or two, since they only cost 3500 points but Ultimate is 12000 points unfortunately. Under the old rules it was hard to rack up points unless you spent ages doing pointless activities.
Honestly this happens often when a game is remastered or released for a new console. On a few rare occasions the older games are still available for purchase but in most cases publishers pull the old games and stop selling the older versions, which is very easy to do with digital versions.
I think that all games should be able to get all achievements even if the multiplayer mode has been removed. Godfall released exclusively on the Playstation, and the game was a flop. Once it got a Xbox release the game had some reasonable success.
Re: Major Game Maker Reportedly Questioning Xbox Support Amidst 'Falling Sales'
I believe the issue is there is a huge number of games getting released every week so it's hard for a game to stand out. Without either the game being on game pass or being in a Xbox promo video game can get easily ignored. I personally don't know more than a small handful of third party games that don't get some Xbox release( outside of NIS America titles).
