The problem is that the Switch 2 is only a moderate improvement from the Switch. Some of Nintendo own promotional material has shown that the Zelda game takes 19 seconds to load on the Switch but with the Switch 2 using a Switch 2 version of the same game it an amazing 14 seconds. Not really a big improvement in loading time in my opinion.
Well I did have the X1 version of DMC 5 but the series Xbox version when on sale so I got that version as well. So I have DMC 5 for the X1 and DMC 5 special edition for the series Xbox. I also own all the different versions of Bayonetta, except the switch version.
@TheGameThrifter Well perhaps MS hasn't delivered as many games as they could but they have released more games than Sony has. Since Xbox series X have become hard to find I personally think it an indication that the next generation Xbox is on it's way reasonably soon. My guess is that the next generation Xbox will be revealed in late 2025 or 2026.
I predict that scalpers will buy up every available Switch 2 then turn around and sell them at absurd prices on ebay. After the the die hard fans have gotten there consoles the sales will drop off since both the ps6 and next generation Xbox will be launching. I also predict that the next generation Xbox will be launching in 2026 likely in the summer. It's very hard to find any Series X that are available for sale likely due to MS shifting production to the next Xbox. My prediction is that the next generation Xbox will launch at close to the price of the Xbox Series X.
Never. I will only generally get games that are $20 or under and I might go as high as $20 - $30 if it a really good game that I just have to play. In all likelihood you will see games go from launching at $80 here to about $110.
I see a few big problems. The launch price is $630 or $700 with Mario Cart. The ps5 w/ disc is $650 with the Series X around the same price, if you can find one. The voice chat sounds good but it's only for paid members, just like xbox gold and could be problematic if not monitored. Lots of features but not all of them are particularly useful. And they are introduced Switch 2 versions and offering paid upgrade from the Switch, very much like the ps4 to ps5 instead of the smart upgrade like the Xbox. And they are continuing the trend of offering older titles via paid subscription only, not something I am a fan of.
For the most part exclusive game deals from third party developers are usually time limited and they bar the developer from releasing the game on a rival console. After the lock in time that is were it gets murky. Often there are hidden sales numbers that if they exceed them they might pay the developer and that might not be in the contract. The console developer might also agree sometimes to keep paying to keep the game on there console only, no payment developer is free to release for other consoles. Then there is the most tricky issue is were the console has bought the IP from the developer and they now have complete control over the game now and in the future. Then of course you have developers who simply decide on only releasing games on the console platforms they want to.
Well the good thing is that the dynamic backgrounds are free. The not so great thing is that there is a limited selection of backgrounds. But apparently the ps5 doesn't have dynamic backgrounds, at least that is what I heard.
I personally think that the normal wireless controller which goes for $70-$80 is overpriced lets alone the pro controller which goes for $250! If my wireless controller stop charging they I just add a usb cable to make it into a wired controller.
MS would be better off grabbing up the dead IP's that Ubisoft owns then creating remastered versions of the game which could easily be sold on consoles and added to game pass.
Well I am only looking for games to look decent like as good as the ps3/x360. And yet there are lots of new titles that go way below that. The fact that they haven't spent tons of time on minor features is a good thing.
I think that there are two issues. Developers will likely try to get there game out before fall 2025, or they will shift there game to early 2026, which means they will be after the supposed GTA 6 launch. GTA 5 did well since there was nothing like it at the time, and it was above the average game. Now there is so many games getting released the biggest threat might be smaller titles like Tunic or Balango. And what is GTA 6 going to actually look like, a game that has a excellent story that has a added on multi player or it will move towards a live service game like Destiny 2 or Fornite. I will bet that they will lean towards live service with you paying per season.
My opinion is that they need to stop spending over the top on games that are not guaranteed to be huge hits. Simply keep the cost to develop the game to what can be reasonably expected. SE needs to release game that don't break the bank.
I don't know anything about Shadows, but Hogwards Legacy Series X/S version runs well on the series S, but it obvious to me the game is maxing out the system capabilities.
My opinion is that most game subscription are rarely worth it. Sure initially you get a good collection of games, but after checking out what is actually available, very often you only find a handful of games that are actually worthwhile playing. For most game subscription services the value of remaining subscribed goes down the longer you keep the service as you either finish the game you want or game your interest in leave the service. Of the various game subscriptions I still think game pass is the best option, but keeping it is pricey with the price hikes.
Why do Sony and Microsoft keep giving them money for a 6 month subscription to the respective game services? I can hardly see that either Sony or Microsoft is profiting of this, but I could be wrong.
I think MS should pick out various minor IP which can likely be purchased at a bargain. Like Felex, Anno, Heroes of Might and Magic, etc. Once MS owns the IP MS can do what ever they want with the games.
My guess is MS is looking at titles that are multiplayer focused or titles that could work on mobile. There are plenty of older titles MS could easily revive if they had the IP. Just my guess.
I personally think MS is leaning towards launching the next generation Xbox console sooner rather then later. MS might launch the next generation of Xbox consoles at the same time GTA 6 launches which is likely to give the next Xbox console a big boost in sales.
I got rid of my x360 and shifted games over to my X1. Now after trading my X1 for a series S, I decided to get a x360 again before the x360 store closed. I think it might be worthwhile to redownload games on my x360 and remove them from my series S.
It looks like a not bad game, but unfortunately it's not really a game I am personally interested in. I am personally way more interested in South of Midnight. But I might see if it catches my interest. So many hit titles added to game pass in 2025.
@Kilamanjaro Not a bad idea so long as the consoles have reasonable shipping costs. I think the biggest mistake was outsourcing the memory card to a third party which has inflated the price. Everything should be available from MS with the possible option for third party accessories. I think they are intentionally under stocking to gear up for the next Xbox console. I think it possible they might launch a new console in fall 2025 or sometime in 2026.
I am guessing that MS doesn't see much point in overstocking console that are likely to sit on shelves for a while before they are sold. Since the Xbox is down in sales I personally think MS will be the next one to announce and launch their next console. I am guessing that the next version of the Xbox will sell at near the price of the current generation console.
On one hand it fun and you always want to finish a run, but on the other hand almost everything is basically on the luck of the draw and you have very little chance to actually finish a run.
What Bioware should of done is release a new version for the Xbox 360 with achievements. Or Bioware could of released a dual Xbox/Xbox 360 release. And Bioware could of still released new Xbox 360 versions of original Xbox games.
In Canada there was already a bump in the point cost for Ultimate and possibly Standard. The only "deal" has been the point cost for a Xbox $5 store card.
The original Xbox was technically far superior to the ps2, since it included a 20 GB hard drive and had a ethernet port. The ps2 only had a hard drive and ethernet available as a add on for Final Fantasy 11, which was the only game which used it. The x360 gained popularity due to the launch price of the ps3. The inclusion of Kinect with the X1 hurt the X1 and allowed the ps4 to gain market share. The dual launch of Series S and Series X was a unusual but proved successful for MS. What I see is that MS is producing more games for the Xbox, a wide variety of games.
Well MS might not be able to sell the newly made backwards compatibility games but they could possibly be added to game pass. Even if MS didn't have full right to sell the game I am sure they could find a way to place them on game pass only perhaps.
Well the issue likely is game need to be tested for backwards compatibility and using AI to start thing going might be a help. The AI could try to test the backwards compatibility then it might return possible problems that programmers can zoom in on to get it running.
I did have an original Xbox at the time but I didn't really get into the Xbox until the launch of the x360. For me the price was the motivation to get a x360 over the ps3. But I personally found after MS introduced the Kinect/Metro design to the x360 it broke the x360 and made the os much more difficult to use.
I remember playing the base Civ 6 game without any of the expansions and the game worked perfectly without crashing but almost all the game mechanics were broken. Even the tutorial doesn't actually tell you how to capture a city or to win a dominion victory, it just starts the game and then has no ending. Really wish the tutorial actually told you that cities can't be captured with ranged units.
MS has finally made Xbox profitable which it has not been for a while. Most of the games that MS is releasing for other consoles have been multiplayer games all of which hugely benefit from being cross platform. What MS needs to do with there next console is to improve the UI/backend to games so they are more capable of streaming.
Let me guess, it all AI generated so it has no idea what it actually offering. I have personally been offered a "deal" on a game that I already own, just brilliance.
The launch price of the x360 is what helped it. The x360 launched for $400,$500 here and the ps3 came along and launched at $650,$700,$750,$800. Then the ps3 only had limited ps2 backwards compatibility.
For 120 FPS you also need a TV that supports that, but very few games are actually capable of 120 FPS. From what I've seen when I looked at the settings in my Series S, it technically able to run games in 120 FPS, but only if your TV is able to handle it.
Personally the game didn't catch my attention right off the start and I didn't feel any need to keep playing. Not bad, not good just confusing and uninteresting, at least for me. If I am not impressed or interested in a game right away it hard to keep playing.
To be it sounds like they are rushing to get the game out the door and launch the game. I personally could care less about the game since I found GTA 5 uninteresting and boring.
