Will definitely check it out with Game Pass Ultimate when it get released. Then I'll decide if I'll play it though with Ultimate, not bother, or buy the game when it's very cheap.
Not only did they announce two new Ninja Gaiden games there is apparently a third game called Ninja Gaiden Ragebound. It says "Not Currently Available" and the trailer says summer 2025.
I would of never predicted that not one but two Ninja Gaiden games would be joining Game Pass. Seems this was exclusively announcing titles that were coming to Game Pass and I think Ninja Gaiden was announced and joining Game Pass was they got paid up front and got top billing at an announcement about upcoming games.
To me the main advantage of Ultimate is the day 1 games which gives me a chance to check out new games to see if they are worth checking out on game pass or even possibly buy the game when it's on sale. Standard is ok, but there isn't enough games that I really want to play that I don't already own.
Irregardless of what the tests or specifications say I have noticed subtle differences in various games on the Xbox and Playstation consoles. The Playstation does look better when it's playing cinematic cut scenes or were there is not a lot of movement on screen like platformer type games. I personally find the Xbox better when there is a lot of action on screen or action oriented games. I enjoyed The Witcher 3 on my Xbox but didn't really enjoy it on my ps4. Sonic Manic and Astria Ascending don't look the best on the Xbox but look better on the ps4. Games that are fully optimized for the Playstation like Spider Man look fine, but the file size is huge at around 80 - 100 GB.
The developer is almost certain Square Enix. What they will be announcing is unknown but my guess is that the few remaining games that are not currently on the Xbox will be getting a release at some point in the future.
I think Rockstar is going to double dip. Likely GTA 6 will launch at $100 -$130 for the base game and likely $200 - $300 for the ultimate edition. But that is just the start. Likely after launch they will introduce paid seasons could be $20 - $50 per season. Just my predictions.
Well the Series S is not a bad console but there are two small issues. First no disc drive, minor since it hard to find Xbox games anymore, at least were I am. Second the internal storage is limited so you need the expansion card. Any X1 game that has a series version is automatically upgraded to the series version which takes up the limited space on the SSD. But the loading times make the hassle worth it, generally.
@swedetrap Both the switch and ps5 have had good console sales but the trick for both Sony and Nintendo is to keep the sales for the ps6 and switch 2 to be compatible to the previous generation of consoles. The potential problem with the switch 2 is that they need to have a powerful enough console and low enough price. And Nintendo has to bring more games to modern consoles that can be purchased rather than only being available via the switch online.
Well Sony chose to buy studios that haven't released a single game, absolutely nothing has be heard of them since Sony bought the studios. MS has spent big money since the only other option was to close up Xbox all together. MS has taken a interest in remastering older titles and rereleasing them on various consoles. Sony does bring older titles to there modern consoles but they are the exact same game that has been modified to work on newer consoles. Like Dark Cloud 1 and 2 are the exact same ps2 games, the ps2 logo is visible when starting the game and the only thing which is added is trophy support. The reason why Sony can add trophies to older games is because all trophies are added extra content that is triggered after the first trophy is unlocked, or the trophies are checked on the trophies on the Playstation. For the Xbox starting with the x360 achievements are part of the boot code and available when the game is booted up. With the X1 the achievement information is hidden unless you're online.
Played both games on the ps1 but I didn't know there was Sega CD version as well. In all likelihood the Playstation version is likely easier to port to modern consoles over the Sega CD version.
I think that MS doesn't see the need to spend money to make consoles that are going to just sit on the shelves unsold. My guess is that consoles aren't selling well in certain areas/markets and supply of consoles is limited so likely the head warehouse has to make decisions on were to send consoles. I honestly don't know what is happening but this is my best spock guess.
There are only a few games that it could be. Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Devil may Cry, Castlevainia, Like a Dragon(Yakuza)and Ninja Gaiden. It's definitely not Legend of Zelda, so it's like one of the other ones.
With 145 hours in on FF7 remake on the ps4 and 3 trophies away from the platinum, I would which will happen first, me finally get the platinum in FF7 remake or FF7 remake get a Xbox release. For FF7 remake buy guess is SE signed a deal with Sony to release the game exclusively on the Playstation and was paid in advance to release the game likely on the ps4. SE likely rushed FF7 remake to get it out on the ps4 so they could fulfill their end of the deal.
I would say a day 1 title might potentially lose up to 80% of launch day sales but the developers have to spend nothing on marketing and are guaranteed to get a large lump sum before launch. Titles that don't launch on game pass often need the developers to spend money on marketing to get their game noticed. There is way more and more games getting released day after day, without some like game pass to get people interested good games can get overlooked.
I seriously doubt the sale of physical games is going to improve any time soon because only Switch games can actually be played from the cartridge. Both Xbox and Playstation games are just installation disc which allows you to install it to your hard drive and allow you to play the game that is installed on your hard drive.
@WildConcept6 Sony has had a few movies or series based on Playstation IP but they have been very few, until recently. And if you listen to the endless techo babel, it seems they want to get into selling Playstation IP theme merchandise of some sort. I don't really understand were they are going but they want to sell Sony and Playstation themed merchandise and stuff more than ever. Sony wants to sell the idea of the Sony/Playstation lifestyle?
The long and short is that both Microsoft and Sony are looking to expand their footprint in the entertainment business and both are doing it in very different ways.
I think it's very likely is a new Xbox console which has been push up in the development cycle due to the weak sales of the series Xbox consoles. When the WiiU, which was a incredible console didn't get the sales Nintendo expected they dropped the WiiU and moved to the switch and now the switch is always at or near the top. In all likelihood the next generation console for the Xbox will be announced at the latest, the summer 2026 for the 2026 holiday season.
I don't know what the problem is, but I think it might be the old rewards app, that was recently made useless since the functionality was moved into the dashboard. Perhaps if anyone tried to use the older app, it triggered an automatic ban.
I wouldn't say it's right to leak this information but it seems to be the older versions that were released on the original Xbox and X360. These titles are available via backwards compatibility but all the older titles were delisted when the master chief collection was released, or soon after. Even MS has said they are not giving the master chief collection anymore updates.
I have tried various older From Software games and I just couldn't get into the games. Tried Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1-3, and non of them were really very interesting to me. Also tried a Samurai on Xbox and also lost interest. Elden Ring might be interesting but since I haven't enjoyed any previous games I doubt it. I wouldn't miss any From Software games if they became exclusive to the Playstation.
The last games that I bought at full price were the FF13 trilogy and FF15. I don't mind to have the option to play physical games but I find they are increasingly not available for the Xbox or only at full launch price. After getting a series S I only get digital games and don't have any need to get physical games again since they simply are not ready available.
Well the stream deck is available, but it very expensive coming close to the price of the Series X. I think having a hand held Xbox is expanding on what they already are doing with the play any were. I think MS is thinking that there might be some demand for a handheld Xbox, and this also takes from having the series S and series X. I think MS would of never bothered with a handheld console if they could simply stream games on the Android and iPhone but it proving to be difficult so MS is simply trying something else.
@themcnoisy Actually it not false. Sony launched the ps3 a year or two before the x360 was launched. Sony only later offered the upgrade of a instant library, but this was later dropped in favour of monthly games which can only be claimed in that particular month. Sony did offer limited trials of select games on the ps3, I remember on of the AC game being available as a trial. The trial game eventually disappeared and have only recently made a comeback but only with ps+ premium. The games with gold was introduced after the x360 launched and MS kind of hacked it in. On the x360 to claim any game with gold you needed a cc on file and you could claim your monthly games. But the thing was that all the claimed games were considered owned on the x360, so even after you didn't have a active gold membership any games claimed with gold could still be played. Unfortunately this was fix with the launch of the X1.
@GeeEssEff True ps+ was available first but it didn't initially offer anything and only after xbox gold was offering free games did Sony offer the same thing. Sony did offer something not bad with ps now, but after they changed things recently the value of the current ps+ is minimal. And over the past year tons of games have left ps+ only to be replaced with mediocre games. I would never get ps+ to play Lego games. Sony offer the PS home which was a virtual place to interact then they just killed it off, it was dead before the ps4 even launched. Sony has had lots of good ideas, but they often kill off good ideas rather then do anything with them.
In my opinion the unreal engine has both advantages and disadvantages. First the unreal engine is geared towards shooters and does offer superior graphics. The main disadvantage is that the unreal engine doesn't allow for tons of customization, which is something that a game like Elder Scrolls needs. For something like Halo or Gears of War using the Unreal engine makes perfect sense, for other games not so much.
I don't know why they don't continue the backwards compatibility program but expand it to the series Xbox. They could port or patch the original games so they could run exclusively on the series Xbox or better. Perhaps there are titles that are hard to get running on the X1 but might have little problem run on the series Xbox. I think they should consider reintroducing a new Xbox arcade which brings over classic arcade X360 titles over to the series Xbox.
Despite the Xbox being behind in console sales MS has mandated that the Xbox division turn a profit. So even if Xbox isn't number one, they are still can be substantiated. Sony is right around the top in console sales but has made numerous huge blunders in putting out games for the Playstation and Nintendo has been very successful but it's sales seem to be levelling off and the game they are releasing are not getting the sales numbers of previous titles they have released. Like Zelda Breath of the Wind was very successful but the follow up Zelda Tears of the Kingdom had some interest but people seem to lose interest in it reasonably quickly. I personally wish Nintendo would make it possible to actually own the older Zelda games that are only available with the switch online, but Nintendo doesn't want to do that. Sony seems to want to bring older classics Sony Playstation titles to newer Playstation consoles but they all end up in the top tier and I personally are only interested in a small number of the classics Sony games. Sony does actually allow you to purchase classics titles on the ps4 and ps5, unlike Nintendo. I would like to see MS spend more time bringing classic Xbox titles to modern consoles, even if they are only available via game pass, that would work, in my opinion. To me the only console developer who is actually trying new things is MS with the Xbox.
Nonsense. There is room for a maximum of 3 consoles and currently there is 3 establish console developers in the market right now. The real issue is that it's near impossible for a new console developer to even consider getting into the market right now. The only issue is what the big 3 do going forward. Nintendo has been very profitable and successful but I think they need to do something new and innovative otherwise they can easily be surpassed by Sony and Microsoft.
Completely wrong. There is room for a maximum of 3 consoles in the market and currently there is 3 which means that it's impossible for any other console to even get into the market. This is what all the doom and gloom is about. Nobody can defeat the other ones and nobody can absolutely win.
I personally don't care if Xbox studios titles eventually end up on other platforms because I am seeing more and more titles that I am interested in getting a Xbox release. Most games do get a Xbox release, even if it's digital only and most JRPG games are becoming available on the Xbox and personally the unique JRPG games are the main reason for me to play the Playstation in the first place. I personally see the Xbox console as a platform that has huge potential were as the other consoles are largely at their peak.
I am not personally surprised developers don't want to spend money creating physical versions which are likely to be unsold. I am guessing they need to print a large number otherwise they are likely loosing money. Since the trend is towards digital games, even more so on the Xbox developer don't both with a physical release.
Streaming games can be useful, to a degree. When you have a title that can be 50 - 120 GB in size, it much easier to simply stream the game rather the download the game and have it take up space on the SSD drive which is limited for space. The new title Gehina Impact can be streamed with cloud gaming which is useful.
I just wait until the whole show is available on Youtube then skim through the entire show in a few minutes. The only thing I am interested is Civilization. The Civ composer will be at the show and the theme of the new game might be revealed along with more gameplay pre launch.
I think it's a complex problem, MS is largely to blame but think that there is just as many issues about publishers pulling the rights from the Xbox stores and MS has to go through and pull the game from purchase. I think another problem is developers have published games on the Xbox store and have abandoned them and MS is stuck with games they don't have full rights to. I think MS should include clauses in publishers contracts that the publishers doesn't update and game after a very long time, 4-5 years MS gains the rights to the games so long as the original publisher doesn't claim the rights. Agreements should also include the rights to retain all previously licensed games in perpetuity, so the publishers and demand the older games get removed from licensing libraries. The problems could also be as simple as a junior engineer get assigned to fix a problem with a particular game page and possibly someone get lazy or can't find any other solution and simply removes the back end store page so they can mark the problem as "solved".
I have not had any games go missing but I have noticed that frequently the Xbox store needs to run a update to the Xbox store. I only noticed this because I tend to have a slower connection and the Xbox store update frequently get stuck updating. I also see that once you "buy" a game it might take a few minutes to show as owned. The only game that ever just disappeared was a game called contract? which was a contra clone.
@Frmknst You can keep access to the games as long as you stay subscribed to game pass ultimate, or you could just outright buy the game and you no longer need to stay subscribed. Your choice.
Persona 3 reloaded will almost certainly be leaving in January or February. Any games that are multiplayer are usually a preference to stay on game pass. Recently it seems they are dropping games that are under preforming, at least that is what it seems like.
On the X1 the sleep mode was far better since if you used shutdown it would take a few minutes to get the X1 up to speed to see what games you have to play. The series Xbox has a better restart mode, but unfortunately any quick resume games don't tend to work after a shutdown. Yes the Xbox is using power but the cost savings of the shutdown is minimal.
X360 titles are considered simply owned on the X1 or better regardless if they were purchased or claimed with gold. For any X1 titles they are listed in a separate section on your library as games with gold, and they are available with any game pass membership. For anyone who hasn't claimed any titles with gold, the gold section likely won't appear.
I think that the entire console market is very challenging going forward. In the end the deciding factor will tend to be profitability over console sales. Xbox is in 3rd place for console sales but they are profitable and have room to grow. Playstation and Nintendo are at the top but are struggling to get any more growth. Nintendo has been very successful with the switch but just look back at their failures. The N64 was a very impressive console when it was released and was very capable, but it sales were bad. The WiiU improved on many of the problems with the Wii, but it didn't make enough money so it was dumped in favour of the switch. All of Nintendo previous handheld have been reasonably successful but they wanted to merge the two lines with the switch. Playstation has been very successful but I personally feel that Sony is turning into Sega when it comes to their consoles. The original reason why I started playing on the ps1 was the unique RPG/JRPG that were available. Now more and more of these games are available on Xbox consoles so I have less reason to play on my Playstation. Most RPG/JRPG are the bread and butter of console games. They may or may not have great sales but they often bring in new gamers, and that is what grows console sales.

Completely wrong. There is room for a maximum of 3 consoles in the market and currently there is 3 which means that it's impossible for any other console to even get into the market. This is what all the doom and gloom is about. Nobody can defeat the other ones and nobody can absolutely win.
Re: Sony's New $320M 'Alliance' Has Left Xbox Fans Breathing A Sigh Of Relief
I personally have never enjoyed most From Software games so I could care less if they became exclusive to the Playstation.
Re: Xbox Has Reportedly Delayed 'A Big Game' Into 2026
My guess is that it's the next Halo or Gears of War game.
Re: Xbox Reporter Says That Microsoft 'Won't Have Exclusives Going Forward'
I personally don't care if Xbox studios titles eventually end up on other platforms because I am seeing more and more titles that I am interested in getting a Xbox release. Most games do get a Xbox release, even if it's digital only and most JRPG games are becoming available on the Xbox and personally the unique JRPG games are the main reason for me to play the Playstation in the first place. I personally see the Xbox console as a platform that has huge potential were as the other consoles are largely at their peak.
Re: Croc Developer Insists There's 'Almost No Demand' For A Physical Xbox Version
I am not personally surprised developers don't want to spend money creating physical versions which are likely to be unsold. I am guessing they need to print a large number otherwise they are likely loosing money. Since the trend is towards digital games, even more so on the Xbox developer don't both with a physical release.
Re: Poll: What Is Your Xbox Game Of The Year For 2024?
I would give 5 points to Hogwards Legacy. I would also give 4 points to Star Wars Survivor. Genin Impact gets 3 points.
Re: Xbox's 'Stream Your Own Game' Now Available To Insiders On Console
Streaming games can be useful, to a degree. When you have a title that can be 50 - 120 GB in size, it much easier to simply stream the game rather the download the game and have it take up space on the SSD drive which is limited for space. The new title Gehina Impact can be streamed with cloud gaming which is useful.
Re: The Game Awards 2024: Date, Start Times & Everything You Need To Know
I just wait until the whole show is available on Youtube then skim through the entire show in a few minutes. The only thing I am interested is Civilization. The Civ composer will be at the show and the theme of the new game might be revealed along with more gameplay pre launch.
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
I have not had any games go missing but I have noticed that frequently the Xbox store needs to run a update to the Xbox store. I only noticed this because I tend to have a slower connection and the Xbox store update frequently get stuck updating. I also see that once you "buy" a game it might take a few minutes to show as owned. The only game that ever just disappeared was a game called contract? which was a contra clone.
Re: Xbox Is Offering Incredible 'Just For You' Deals Right Now, 90% Off Multiple EA Games
@Frmknst You can keep access to the games as long as you stay subscribed to game pass ultimate, or you could just outright buy the game and you no longer need to stay subscribed. Your choice.
Re: Here's What Might Be Leaving Xbox Game Pass In January 2025
Persona 3 reloaded will almost certainly be leaving in January or February. Any games that are multiplayer are usually a preference to stay on game pass. Recently it seems they are dropping games that are under preforming, at least that is what it seems like.
Re: 34% Of Xbox Owners Still Don't Use The 'Energy Saving' Option In 2024
On the X1 the sleep mode was far better since if you used shutdown it would take a few minutes to get the X1 up to speed to see what games you have to play. The series Xbox has a better restart mode, but unfortunately any quick resume games don't tend to work after a shutdown. Yes the Xbox is using power but the cost savings of the shutdown is minimal.
Re: Xbox Explains How Games With Gold Titles Carry Over To Game Pass Core
X360 titles are considered simply owned on the X1 or better regardless if they were purchased or claimed with gold. For any X1 titles they are listed in a separate section on your library as games with gold, and they are available with any game pass membership. For anyone who hasn't claimed any titles with gold, the gold section likely won't appear.
Re: As Xbox Expands Its Reach, Former PlayStation Boss Talks About The Viability Of Consoles
