Re: Xbox Reporter Says That Microsoft 'Won't Have Exclusives Going Forward'

Rodimusprime13

I personally don't care if Xbox studios titles eventually end up on other platforms because I am seeing more and more titles that I am interested in getting a Xbox release. Most games do get a Xbox release, even if it's digital only and most JRPG games are becoming available on the Xbox and personally the unique JRPG games are the main reason for me to play the Playstation in the first place. I personally see the Xbox console as a platform that has huge potential were as the other consoles are largely at their peak.

Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries

Rodimusprime13

I think it's a complex problem, MS is largely to blame but think that there is just as many issues about publishers pulling the rights from the Xbox stores and MS has to go through and pull the game from purchase. I think another problem is developers have published games on the Xbox store and have abandoned them and MS is stuck with games they don't have full rights to. I think MS should include clauses in publishers contracts that the publishers doesn't update and game after a very long time, 4-5 years MS gains the rights to the games so long as the original publisher doesn't claim the rights. Agreements should also include the rights to retain all previously licensed games in perpetuity, so the publishers and demand the older games get removed from licensing libraries. The problems could also be as simple as a junior engineer get assigned to fix a problem with a particular game page and possibly someone get lazy or can't find any other solution and simply removes the back end store page so they can mark the problem as "solved".

Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries

Rodimusprime13

I have not had any games go missing but I have noticed that frequently the Xbox store needs to run a update to the Xbox store. I only noticed this because I tend to have a slower connection and the Xbox store update frequently get stuck updating. I also see that once you "buy" a game it might take a few minutes to show as owned. The only game that ever just disappeared was a game called contract? which was a contra clone.

Re: 34% Of Xbox Owners Still Don't Use The 'Energy Saving' Option In 2024

Rodimusprime13

On the X1 the sleep mode was far better since if you used shutdown it would take a few minutes to get the X1 up to speed to see what games you have to play. The series Xbox has a better restart mode, but unfortunately any quick resume games don't tend to work after a shutdown. Yes the Xbox is using power but the cost savings of the shutdown is minimal.

Re: Xbox Explains How Games With Gold Titles Carry Over To Game Pass Core

Rodimusprime13

X360 titles are considered simply owned on the X1 or better regardless if they were purchased or claimed with gold. For any X1 titles they are listed in a separate section on your library as games with gold, and they are available with any game pass membership. For anyone who hasn't claimed any titles with gold, the gold section likely won't appear.

Re: As Xbox Expands Its Reach, Former PlayStation Boss Talks About The Viability Of Consoles

Rodimusprime13

I think that the entire console market is very challenging going forward. In the end the deciding factor will tend to be profitability over console sales. Xbox is in 3rd place for console sales but they are profitable and have room to grow. Playstation and Nintendo are at the top but are struggling to get any more growth. Nintendo has been very successful with the switch but just look back at their failures. The N64 was a very impressive console when it was released and was very capable, but it sales were bad. The WiiU improved on many of the problems with the Wii, but it didn't make enough money so it was dumped in favour of the switch. All of Nintendo previous handheld have been reasonably successful but they wanted to merge the two lines with the switch. Playstation has been very successful but I personally feel that Sony is turning into Sega when it comes to their consoles. The original reason why I started playing on the ps1 was the unique RPG/JRPG that were available. Now more and more of these games are available on Xbox consoles so I have less reason to play on my Playstation. Most RPG/JRPG are the bread and butter of console games. They may or may not have great sales but they often bring in new gamers, and that is what grows console sales.

Re: Random: Xbox 360 Users Say Dashboard Has Been 'Destroyed', But It's Not As Bad As It Seems

Rodimusprime13

Yes it a dull dashboard, but much of the original functionality centred around interconnection with the Xbox marketplace. Now that the marketplace is gone this is all that left. I personally thought the NXE dashboard was one of the best. The metro/kinect dashboard largely broke much of the functionality in my opinion. Still it nice it has some functionality, and it will play a select handful of original Xbox games so it still useful, to a degree.

Re: Stalker 2's Lower Review Scores Are 'Unfair & Misleading', Says Arkane Founder

Rodimusprime13

I now never even consider "professional reviewers" for their opinions to really matter. To me I would more tend to look at gamers reviews which give a unbiased opinion of the games. I don't consider reviews that give 10/10 and say almost nothing or reviews that give it perhaps 2 or 3 out of 10 and again say almost nothing. I want to know what someone's honest first impression of the game. For most professional reviewers they likely have played the game less then 5 hours but then they write a review.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Isn't On Xbox Yet, But The Director Clearly Wants To See It Happen

Rodimusprime13

Much of the reason why FF7 did get a X1 release was due to the VCR X1 model which did have limitations but likely they could of been worked around. But SE didn't want to spend the extra time to get the game to work. I have played FF7 remake on the ps4 and don't see any reason why it couldn't be developed, I think it was simply SE didn't have time to create a X1 version. But it seems that the series Xbox is much more popular with developers who seem to find it easier to work with, given the ever increasing number of titles getting series Xbox versions.

Re: Talking Point: Looking Back, What Are Your Fondest Memories Of The Xbox One Era?

Rodimusprime13

The some of the best things about the X1 was when they dropped Kinect from the X1 bundle, playing Fable Legends the game got cancelled but it did look interesting. Finally adding backwards compatibility for x360 titles. Getting my hands on a X1X which was so much more powerful then the original VCR x1. Finally with getting a series S, I no longer needed my X1X. Do kind of miss having a physical disc drive but at nearly half the cost of a series X I can manage.

Re: WD Black's New 2TB Expansion Card Is Good News For Series X|S Owners

Rodimusprime13

I think the SSD memory cards for the series Xbox are overpriced, even with the discount. If you have a memory card costing close to the price of the S and about half the price of the X it's almost better to just get a upgrade in the console itself rather then spend the money on a memory card. And much of the cost is due to MS using micro SSD cards designed for laptops rather then normal SSD used for desktop computers.

Re: SEGA Delisting Multiple Xbox Games This December

Rodimusprime13

This is exactly how games should be delisted. Sega has announced about a month ahead of time that these games will be delisted to give people their final chance to buy the game before they are gone for good. Many other developers just suddenly delisted games without any warning and then you can't buy the game again permanently. More companies should follow Sega's example to announce the delisting ahead of time.

Re: Arkane Founder Says Xbox Shutting Austin Studio Was 'Stupid' And 'Not A Good Decision'

Rodimusprime13

I personally thought the Dishonoured series was overrated. I've repeatedly tried to play though the games and I get both bored and frustrated. And the problem with Redfall was the game was barely playable and the developers didn't seem to care and just thought someone else would fix it. Redfall was likely the final nail in the coffin, in my opinion. One of the developers actually said "I can't believe they shipped it out was it was", implying that they expected someone else to fix and polish the game.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 19-20)

Rodimusprime13

Just finished Like a Dragon the man who erased his name, now started playing Doom Eternal again. Nice that South Park Shattered is on game pass since I can play it on my series S. Just finished Hellsinger on the ps4 after previous finishing the x1 and series versions with game pass. The last trophy I need is the torments but It's glitched and I have to replay the torments until it unlocks.

Re: Xbox Series X Vs. PS5 Pro: What Are We Missing Out On?

Rodimusprime13

What difference? What I see is the ps5 graphics looking not the best though the video and the different they are showing between the ps5 and ps5 pro is marginally, I think the ps5 looks a bit better then the ps5 pro. And it seems that on the ps5 lots of games drop the resolution to 30fps for better performance and only achieve 60fps with a drop in graphics. And the improvements are only showing small clips from 4-6 games.

Re: Microsoft Says Native Xbox Cloud Gaming App Remains 'Impossible' On Apple Devices

Rodimusprime13

Hear is what I don't understand. Sony has Playstation app which allows you to purchase ps4 and ps5 straight from the app, so long as you have a ps4 or ps5 linked to your account but MS don't allow you to purchase games directly from any Xbox app. MS does allow you to stream games that you have installed on your primary console. Sony doesn't allow any like that but instead insists you buy a PS Portal to stream games from a ps5. I don't understand how Sony is able to sell Playstation games on the Iphone in their app without paying Apple a fee? But MS doesn't want to sell subscriptions on mobile devices, I get it, but why can you buy Xbox games on the Iphone?

Re: Talking Point: Does Microsoft Have A '30FPS' Problem With Its Xbox Series X|S Output?

Rodimusprime13

I believe the problem is trying to get games running at 4K and HDR10 and at the same time running at 60 frames per second. Older games might be at 1080p or 720p and can easily do 60 frames per second because their is less they have to do and they likely copy anime/ cartoon animation to render the games. And seriously how many people can actually see a noticeable difference without using video software to check the frame rate?

Re: SEGA Confirms Partial Delisting For OG Sonic Generations On Xbox

Rodimusprime13

This is what frustrates be about digital games. I don't personally care about preserving games forever but I do find it frustrating that the digital games can be pulled at any time by the publishers. When a developer or publisher creates a new remastered version the older version almost always get removed from the digital store. And sometimes it is removed from one console but is available on another console when it basically the same version. Or even DLC that is available but a few years later it's removed and unless you bought it when it was available you can no longer purchase it, ever.
