Gamepass brought me into the XBox ecosystem, but this is the final straw for me. With them cancelling the first party games I might be interested in left and right, and now that I've pretty much completely transitioned to playing on PC and Steam Deck, I just don't see the worth in the XBox ecosystem anymore
Huh, didn't know these were coming to gamepass. Guess I'll give Wuchang a crack... mixtape seems intriguing but I can't shake the feeling I'll have a more enriching experiences by just watching Stand By Me and listening to an 80s playlist on Spotify
Really need to get round to the sequel. Really enjoyed the first one, but just can't muster the enthusiasm to get past the first 30 minutes or so of Requiem. Still, glad they're carrying on with it, think there's a decent amount of mileage in the premise and setting
After a few disappointing years gamepass are having a binding year. Just finished South of Midnight which was also a real pleasant surprise, just a couple of hours into Clair Obscur but already loving it, and struggling to think how I'm going to fit in Oblivion and Blue Prince before even considering Doom coming up.
Why on Earth have they not already implemented touch controls for the cloud version? The one time I would actually be tempted to play an gamepass game on my phone, but I'm not gonna lug a controller around!
@cragis0001 I have both, but never felt the need for an identical controller! Now, a Switch controller with the buttons the other way round, that would be handy...
I feel like Halo and Gears must be "you had to be there" franchises as, having come to Xbox in just the last 5 or so years I find them terribly dull, both the original games and the newer ones.
I firmly believe that their continued popularity is rooted nostalgia
Fair play, MS needed this after so many of these stories have started coming out. Hopefully they can start to get their house in order with regards to helping other games get on the platform
I just wish they would integrate Gamepass into Steam so any GP that is also on Steam can be downloaded, like EA Play does, so I can play on Steam Deck without having to mess about with Windows or XCloud. Unfortunately, if they really are making their own handheld I assume that just isn't on the cards
Silksong almost guaranteed? Did I miss something? Not that I would be surprised to see it turn up, but there's been so many misfires it seems a little presumptuous
@nomither6 Maybe it's my sensibilities but if this is a full sized game on the level of say Mario Odyssey, which by all accounts it seems to be then it most definitely isn't a side meal to me. I'd far sooner play Astro Bot than most of the AAA 100 hour+ sprawling open world games with inevitable crafting and RPG elements that are so popular nowadays!
I really liked the first and am constantly on the lookout for shorter narrative driven games so keen to give this one a look. Interesting to see that some of the lower scores I've seen have come from XBox specific sites like this one; hopefully puts pay to the 'XBox tax' nonsense
@themightyant I don't know if that would be enough to offset the cost; I admit I don't have the figures to hand but from what I gather the majority of GP subscribers are already on Ultimate
@The-Grezzly-Bear that's a good shout, I could definitely see them doing that. I feel that the Day 1 thing was great for them when they were releasing just a handful of high profile games a year but now they are looking to ramp up with the likes of COD it just doesn't look sustainable at the current price, but if they drop day ones altogether they'd lose their advantage of PS Plus
Gamepass. I never owned an XBox until about 5/6 years ago (Playstation/Nintendo have been enough for me for years); I bought a new laptop for work that was capable of playing games and had always been intrigued by gamepass, so I gave it a go and liked it. However, I've never been overly keen on playing on PC so decided to grab a cheap One S, and off the back of that grabbed a Series X
If anyone has a Steam Deck (and would like to play natively instead of via Xcloud), just a heads up Humble Choice this month includes Hi-Fi Rush as well as Like a Dragon and Steelrising. They're all games I've been keen to get on my Deck so I snapped it up
Mad, I literally thought earlier today, off the back of the studios shutdown and word that subscription numbers are plateuing, that I could see MS eventually either shying away from blanket day one releases or increasing GP price. Never imagined it would be coming so soon!
Would genuinely much prefer to have studios like TG still around, trying interesting and experimental stuff like Hi-Fi even if it meant waiting around for an extra 3/4 years for the next Elder Scrolls or Fallout and I'd like to think most gamers would feel the same. Well to be honest I'd be happy to have no more ES or FO in favour of new IPs, but then I'm just not a huge fan of those games!
Wow a lot of people are making a far bigger deal out of this than is necessary. The majority of dramas on TV nowadays are 2.39:1 or 2:1 so have black bars, and it everyone copes with it. The fact is they're going for a more cinematic aesthetic, and there's really nothing wrong with that
It's very pretty but I'm afraid very bland. Was great for an early gen game but I'm all honesty wouldn't bother taking a look at it unless it pops up on Gamepass
I've been playing Sekiro on the Steam Deck all week, my second playthrough. Christ, what a game. On the Demon of Hatred now so almost finished, then think I'll finally start of Dragon's Dogma 2. May dip my toe in Diablo to see what it's all about, but frankly I'm not sure it's my sort of thing
It was never going to happen. The fact is Starfield just underwhelmed, and this year was far too competitive - I probably could have picked another 10 games to get nominated ahead of Starfield (Lies of P, Armored Core, Pikmin and Sea of Stars off the top of my head). That said, I think it would have been nice if Hi-Fi Rush snuck in over RE4.
