Re: Talking Point: Xbox Fans, How Do You Find Time For All These Amazing 2025 Games?

Nf157

I have actually gotten around to more games than usual this year, I've hit 7 games which is usually my yearly rate.
Granted only two of them would be considered big games and both I had on half from last year but still.
Helps I don't play assassin's creed or monster hunter I imagine.
Split Fiction, Cyberpunk, Metaphor, Crash 2, Slay the Princess, 1000X Resist and Ender Magnolia are the ones I've beat, I've given up on Pirate Yakuza and I've started Expedition 33 which so far kicks ass.

Re: Poll: Based On What You've Played So Far, What Score Would You Give Starfield?

Nf157

3-5 hour ballpark and I'd give it a 7 so far.
The fiction hasn't grabbed me one bit unfortunately.
The character backgrounds/perks are great.
The music is good but perhaps not as good as Skyrims or Fallouts (could change in a few years when I'm looking back however)
Space travel doesn't really feel exciting to me, especially after No Man's Sky and Outer Wilds.
Combat is solid.

Re: Fallout Creator Says New Vegas Remaster Would Be 'Awesome'

Nf157

These days I’m usually on the “just port them” wagon, no need for remasters and such but this might be a special (😅) case. It’s still playable but it feels like it’s tearing apart at the seams as I play it.
The open world is also incredible barren. And I’d love to see the developers original idea for the New Vegas strip (they scaled it down for console peasants like myself 😂).
So ye maybe a remake (that also allows us to run through the open world at a somewhat recent speed!) would be very welcome for this one.
Not sure who I’d trust to do it though. Considering it’s mostly technical stuff i’d like improved I don’t think Obsidian would be the right choice.

Re: Just One Game Is Confirmed For Xbox Game Pass In February 2023 So Far

Nf157

If I was on game pass I wouldn't be too bothered by just having Atomic Hearts in February with Persona 3/4 and Monster Hunter in January there'd be no way I would have finished them all by now. Anything extra would be added to the 'i'll get to them one day' list.
However I wouldn't say no too a Silksong shadow drop! Would drop practically everything for that.

Re: Pick One: Which Game Are You Most Excited For At The Xbox 'Developer_ Direct' Event?

Nf157

I'm most excited to play the new Forza but Forza at the end of the day is going to be a Forza game.... I know exactly what I'm walking into with that one so watching gameplay isn't really needed.
So I guess the one I'm most interested in seeing at this event is Redfall. I haven't played deathloop or prey but I did enjoy Dishonored 1 & 2, however I'm not really all that sold on what they've shown thus far for this one. Hopefully gameplay will change that.
The new Minecraft spin off could be interesting to watch too. I don't really play Minecraft myself, only when I go see my nephew's but they're big into the game, they might be interested in this one, freshen things up a bit maybe for our game nights.

Re: Digital Games Are Dominating In The UK At Almost 90% Of Overall Sales

Nf157

I did go nearly all digital until somewhat recently. Now I regret it.
It started with the £70 price point. I get it. I know why publishers want it and perhaps it is justified. But I don't need to care. £70 is simple too much and the only way to get cheaper is through physical editions and then trading them in if I know I'm never going back to them. Saved a lot of money this way even if there is a bit more hassle but it's worth it.
The other reason is off course seeing first hand for the first time entire console eco systems go down like the 3ds and almost the PS3 and Vita. I really wish I bought more specifically Switch games physical, especially as they can be shared with friends unlike digital.
When my brother eventually got a switch I could have just leant him all the games instead of him buying them all himself. Lessons learned.

Re: Happy New Year!

Nf157

Happy new year! And well done on the 3600 pieces in 2022! Very impressive.
This year on Xbox I’ll be looking to return to game pass for a month or two before Resi4 comes out, in that time I’m gonna attempt (and likely fail) to play Chained Echoes, Pentiment, Somerville, Atomic Hearts, Plaques Tale 2, Wo Long Fallen dynasty and whatever else takes my fancy.
Further on in the year I’ll no doubt play the new Forza (please don’t be delayed to 24!) and hopefully Starfield. The latter hasn’t impressed me too much but it is Bethesda, they’ve made some of my all time favourites so I’ll have to at least give it a shot. With luck it runs reasonable well on series s.

Re: How Would You Grade The Xbox Series X|S Generation So Far?

Nf157

C. Could definitely be a lot better but it’s not without its merits.
Backwards compat plus enhancements are excellent and much better implemented than other console families (including the convenience of how it handles cross gen purchases)..
Game Pass is an excellent indie machine. And this is my favourite aspect of the Xbox gen thus far.
And of course the SSD is way more impressive and noticeable in both Xbox and PlayStation than any of the graphical bumps.
However I am tired of waiting for certain first party games to even show up at a conference…. Whilst Nintendo and Sony are killing it in this department.

Re: Talking Point: What Xbox Games Are You Playing Over The Holiday Period?

Nf157

Not sure. Just 100% Ragnarok. That's not something I do very often these days but I did it for that one.
I'd like to continue my second playthrough of Elden Ring, Samurai build this time as oppose to a glass cannon mage but whether or not I'll get back to it any time soon is yet to be seen.
Pentiment and Somerville look cool. I might give those a whirl as well if I can find the time.

Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Final Fantasy Game On Xbox?

Nf157

I think the most enjoyment I've had from final fantasy would be the opening 5 ish hours from 7. But.... I've never made it much further than that despite playing it multiple times. Loses the magic a bit when it goes open world.
9 I actually finished and I loved. Maybe not quite as much as 7's opening hours but I didn't get bored (with the exception of one chapter quite late in the game that felt like filler) so I guess my favourite is 9.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Xbox Game Of The Year For 2022?

Nf157

Only played a handful of games on my Xbox this year. I'll probably get to a lot of the exclusive stuff next year like Pentiment and.... Well Pentiment.
My GOTY is Elden Ring no doubt. The game to beat this gen for me.
My next spots would be Shredders Revenge, Citizen Sleeper and Nobody Saves the World. Highly recommended all of them 👍

Re: Pick One: What Was Your Favourite Reveal At The Game Awards 2022?

Nf157

Armoured Core for me. Haven't played a single one of them before but it's From Software so of course I'll be there. Plus I'm a big fan of the tone of the trailer. I've watched it a good few times already 👍
Other than that Judas is not a game I figured would ever see the light of day but I'm very glad it has. Bioshock is a classic afterall.
Tekken and SF both looked like great fighters. Earthblade is by the creators of Celeste so that's exciting. Suicide squad trailer looked fun.

Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Actually Buy Xbox Game Pass Games?

Nf157

It's not unheard of from me but usually it's a no.
Forza horizon 4, Shredders Revenge (Switch physical version), Deaths door (that one wasn't on game pass at the time but I think it was obvious it was coming and I still bought it), one or two others on switch where I had them for free thanks to gold points but usually if it's on games pass I'll just play it there. Works out cheaper.

Re: Talking Point: Which Of These Is Your Favourite Assassin's Creed Era?

Nf157

The Ezio trilogy was something special too me. Watching that character from birth to death was rewarding and I'm surprised AC hasn't attempted this since.
My second favourite era would be 3-Rouge. Conner was almost great. Ac4 didn't really deserve the 4 but I see it as a brilliant spin off, best pirate game ever!
Unity and syndicate to me are the worst. Unity at least attempted some ambitious stuff but ultimately callapsed on itself. Syndicate was just so bland it hurt.
Origins-Valhalla era, I really liked what Origins was beggining but Odyssey and Valhalla didn't built of it in the ways I personally wanted them too. Nowadays I've fallen of the franchise but that's fine, not like there's a shortage of games or anything.

Re: Talking Point: What's Your 2022 Game Of The Year So Far?

Nf157

Elden ring! I don't know if it's my favourite from software game yet (I will probably take a while before I decide that) but it's very clearly my goty and I'm highly doubtful anything will get close.
But my other favourites would be Nobody saves the world, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Legends Arceus and Citizen Sleeper.
I'm still yet to play Neon White, Cult of the Lamb TMNT and three hopes.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Is Hurting Right Now, But Larger Forces Are At Play

Nf157

There have been a good few indies I liked playing on game pass this year (Nobody saves the world, TMNT, Citizen Sleeper, Trek to Yomi, Donut county, Tunic, Superluminal) but I haven't needed to remain subscribed to play them.
I think I've only been subscribed for two months altogether this year and I'm not planning on resubscribing until at least next year considering how packed the Switch's lineup is going to be (plus one or two games on ps5).
So ye for me indies have been good but there hasn't really been a big hit that's glues me to the Xbox for a long time in a while and I don't see one anytime soon.

Re: Skull & Bones Extended Gameplay Shows Vast Open Seas To Explore

Nf157

Actually looks way better than I thought. After all the delays I was expecting a right shipwreck!
Unfortunately it's decided to launch in November where both God of War (supposedly) and Pokémon are releasing so it's unlikely I'll buy this at launch. Maybe December/January time, it's Ubisoft so there might even be a sale for it by then
