People who frequent these kind of sites like you and I are in the VAST minority of gamers.
There is a reason why people on here consistently complain about yearly sports / call of duty games but they almost always go on to be the best selling games of the year for a reason because the masses buy it.
2028 seems about right for the next gen consoles. Most generations last 8 years.
I expect a lot of the above to change between now and then but anyone surprised Microsoft pushing an all digital future has not been paying attention to Gamepass and their strategy for the past few years.
Them dropping support would almost certainly lead to a lawsuit of false advertisement.
Myself like millions of others got their first Xbox consoles through the Series S because of the great price point. Dropping support would be a slap to those millions of people and a huge blow in trust between consumer and Microsoft. I'd certainly not buy another Xbox again after that.
This is why they should have just done the Sony approach and release a Series X with and without a disc drive.
Release the disc Series X at $499 as it did.
Release the disc less Series X at $299
Same SKU except one has a disc and the other doesn't. This satisifies people who need their disc drives and getting a series x at $299 is an insane deal for new Xbox users and people who don't care about the disc drive which leads into more Gamepass sales.
Microsoft should have employed Sony's approach to this by releasing the Series X with a disc drive and one without the disc drive.
That way there is parity and since Microsoft can afford to take the hit on hardware knowing they will make their money back on Game Pass, sell the Series X Disc at $499 and the disc less version at $249 instead of $399.
This pushes people to go digital and thus locking them into the Game Pass ecosystem and possibly gets gamers from Nintendo / Sony to try out 4 generations of Xbox for $250. Those that still want their discs, can get the $499 as it is now.
Just beat it. Plays great. Had no issues. Just bear in mind that you have to use a technique on the last mission to make it to the helicopter (guides on youtube how to do it)

Re: 2023 Has Been So Strong That Publishers Are Now Delaying Games To 2024
I have 5 Xbox games including Spider-Man 2 & FF7 Rebirth to go through and I haven't even touched Final Fantasy 16 yet.
This was a wise decision by the publisher as there was no way majority of people were choosing this over the big hitters like Yakuza etc

Microsoft to buy Ubisoft within 5 years.
Re: Review: EA Sports FC 24 - A New Era Begins With An Impressive Result
Will continue with Fifa 23 and wait for this on Gamepass.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2023 Event?
Like A Dragon alone makes it an A+ for me
Re: Three Games Announced For Xbox Game Pass At Tokyo Game Show 2023
Getting a Series S and gamepass is going to save me hundreds if not thousands of pounds at this rate
All 3 releases are absolute bangers! I was going to buy Like A Dragon on Day 1 but now don't have to.
Re: Here's Everything That Was Revealed At The Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2023 Event
2 Like A Dragon Games releasing on Game pass this year ?!
My Yakuza fix is going to be satisfied
Re: As Of Last April, Xbox Series S Accounted For 75% Of Microsoft's Current-Gen Console Sales
A lot of us are first time xbox users because of the Series S and i am certain this goes for a lot of people.
The low entry point is the main reason I got it. Would not have gotten an xbox for £449

2023 is truly stacked and its not even done yet. How are you all finding time to play these games lol.
Baldur's Gate 3
Starfield

That's at least 300 hours of gameplay right there

Although its nice to know what they are working on now, even if they themselves didn't want us to know.
Re: Xbox Series X All-Digital Console Refresh Planned For Late 2024
@carlos82
Xbox Series S should be £200 to aggressively target anyone with even a hint of interest in Xbox games.
Betheseda Games
Activision Games
Epic Games
At that price point, you would tempt a lot of people to get an xbox as a secondary console or even make it their main one.
Re: 'Biggest Leak In Xbox History' Reveals New Console Plans, Upcoming Games & More
What a massive leak. We essentially know everything Xbox related between now and 2028.
Re: Talking Point: It's Now Been Over 10 Years Since Rockstar Launched A New Grand Theft Auto
Hype is at 0.
The Rockstar of 2001-2013 is long gone. Dan Houser and several other key figures of that time period are gone now.
Re: Well, It Looks Like The Elder Scrolls 6 Will Be Xbox Exclusive After All
They bought Betheseda for a reason. Sony would have made it exclusive too if they owned them.
This is not news.
Re: Talking Point: Xbox Fans, How Do You Find Time For All These Amazing 2023 Games?
We don't.
Have to prioritize games because playing them all simply isn't possible with a full time job along with other commitments.
15-20 Hours a week if im lucky

Re: Saints Row Developer Volition Has Been Shut Down By Embracer Group
@themightyant
Well Said. Volition haven't had a solid game since Saints Row The Third which is 12 years ago at this point. Saints Row 4 was a glorified DLC.
The Reboot was the nail in the coffin and easily the worst game in the franchise.
Re: Xbox Fan Sparks Huge Debate After Receiving First 'Strike' For Bad Language
@Titntin Agreed. Its going to get to the point where nobody communicates with anyone out of fear of being banned or suspended.
The irony of playing multiplayer games to bring people together is actually just going to further isolate them.
Re: The Elder Scrolls 6 Has Entered The Early Stages Of Development
Lol so basically don't expect to play this until 2028 if we're lucky.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Like A 'Fully Open World' Gears 6?
Not even a little.
A narrative driven game similar to the original trilogy. There is a reason its still the vast majority of peoples favourites over 15 years later
Re: Microsoft Pulls Xbox Game Pass Trial Ahead Of Starfield Release
@ZuneTattooGuy
Still cheaper than buying 12 months of gamepass up front. Just checked and I am seeing 18 months of Xbox live for £60
£60 for a year of gamepass ultimate is a steal even at the 3:2 conversion.
Re: Bethesda Exec 'Hasn't Come Close' To Finishing Starfield After 160 Hours
@XBOX045
Finishing 4 games in 20 years with 1200 games owned sounds like a severe lack of attention span.
Re: Microsoft Pulls Xbox Game Pass Trial Ahead Of Starfield Release
A year of Gamepass with the gold conversion method is still a whole load of bang for your buck with Activision games soon to join along with this.

Burnout 3 Takedown is a classic everyone should own. Can be found for less than £5
Re: Microsoft Announces The Xbox 360 Store Will Close In July 2024
Still can be purchased on Series consoles so not that big of a deal.
Being delisted forever or not being able to use your disc copy on your console would be worrisome.
Re: Microsoft's Activision Blizzard Deal Approved In Another Country
COD on Gamepass is going to be lit.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Be Interested In A Digital-Only Xbox Series X?
Disc Version Always.
Once locked into the Microsoft Store, sales will be less frequent and they can completely determine pricing.
Discs create competition. Can't be charging $60 for the MS Store version when the discs are going for $20.
Re: Deals: 400+ Games Included In This Week's Xbox Sales (August 8-15)

Darn it
Guess those games weren't included in the summer sale then. I got my first Xbox ever (Series S) in June so I am still building my library.
Re: Deals: 400+ Games Included In This Week's Xbox Sales (August 8-15)
Any idea of when the summer sale will be?
Eyeing up Saints Row 1-2 and FF13 Trilogy
Re: Reaction: Red Dead Redemption PS4 Port Highlights How Amazing Xbox Backwards Compatibility Is

Almost exclusively a backwards compatible machine and single player games for the most part.

The fact the bug fixes and notes are this long for game that was released last year, just goes to show the rotten state the game released under.
This will inevitably show up on game pass but not at all surprised it was a critical and commercial failure

Re: Talking Point: Do You Feel Like You're Still Waiting For 'Next-Gen' To Arrive?
The leaps between generations are only going to get smaller and smaller.
Doubt we will ever have that significant jump from PS2/Xbox to the HD era with the PS3/360 ever again.
