Ace Attorney has always been one of those, “I’ll buy and play it someday” games so I’m glad I’ll finally get to try it.

That was an atrocious show, and if this was the so called hype announcement by Phill to show Microsoft push in Japan then i guess they just waved the white flag already.

Xbox is officially dead in japan, late ports (that most japanese gamers/weebs have already played) and only having marketing rights (that actually hurt games like phantasy star online 2 or scarlet nexus initially) is not enough nor just selling that failing gamepass. Persona 3 reload is coming to gamepass…but most people are gonna play and buy it on playstation/pc anyway

You simply need japanese exclusives to get people interested and xbox once understood this during og xbox/360 under the better leadership of peter moore (who was actually getting things done unlike that hack phil who is all talk) 360 sold over a million in japan because of the variety of japanese exclusives/localizations then

Not only is pc gaming becoming more popular in japan/overall, but once nintendo releases the next switch (and if its on par or even above series s) developers from japan and worldwide will prioritize and have more incentive to make games on switch 2 instead of xbox series s/x. most multiplat releases are gonna be ps5, switch 2, and pc

If only we got scalebound and the phantom dust remake during xbox one…xbox one (while not as good as the og xbox/360 lineup of japanese exclusives) could've had a decent library with those 2, dead rising 3, crimson dragon, and recore

@tallythwack yeah, I am aware that must be how it will go in the end. I'm kinda hoping one day, they'll cut the crap on these third parties exclusivities and release the damn thing all in one cool package for Xbox. I do own a PS5 as well and have both games, so that is not an issue for me personally. I just don't much care for how Sony snorts up all of these 3rd p deals and holds on to them indefinitely. I might be wrong, but I feel like they do it way more than any other player in the industry.

Like A Dragon. Octopath Traveler 2. And emergent titles like Mineko's Night Market, that are looking pretty good. Solid TGS for Xbox.

@cmr_araujo they all do the same thing ,game pass is full of them,nintendo snapped up bayonetta as well as lot of Japanese rpgs,id say the biggest 3rd party exclusive Sony goes for is ff, of course they have silent hill 2 coming up ,which will probably come to xbox eventually,they clearly have a deal with square of some sorts , be it part funded or use of their motion cap studios.

Other than the ace attorney games coming to GP, there's not a lot here and the reality of the show certainly doesn't match the pre show hype - there's nothing here. It was all stuff we already knew for the main part and DLC or releases of titles that have already been on other platforms.
I don't want to be negative, but where is the head turner announcements that will turn Jap heads and change xboxs fortunes in that territory? If Xbox genuinely believe this is enough to turn around their fortunes in this market, well it shows why they are where they are there.

I was hoping for a new JRPG, like lost odyssey or Blue dragon... something you needed an xbox to play! I got my hope up too much, drat!

That's a shame, but on the flip side Xbox owners will not have to worry about Bethesda's(at least)present and future releases skipping their console..

@tallythwack I bet Microsoft are terrified, lol. You know Microsoft could outbid Sony on just about everything if they really wanted to.

At the end of the day Sony made the stupid decision of turning Bethesda into a Sony exclusive studio without actually buying it, they got away with Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo next was going to be Starfield and the rest is history.

@Sifi those two games where timed exclusives, but some studios just don't want to work for ms ,ms have approached insomniac on numerous occasions ,got turned down ,nintendo laughed them out of the room when they mentioned it to them ,money can't buy everything ,xbox should know this ,they haven't made a decent game for years ,sonys first party studios are a different league

If you don't put links up then you made that all up.

If you like the format of Sonys single player games good for you, I don't like them so I don't bother with PlayStation as they don't offer much else. They havent even released a First Party game for a year let alone a AAA title and they have next to no actual curent gen PS5 titles especially new ips.
To add to that most of Sonys games have another problem being longevity, most of their games can be finished in a few weeks and have no replay value, that's not for me either.
Ultimate Gamepass covers everything most people want from gaming including First and 3rd party games day one of release.
Sony charge more for their monthly Premium and give only old games and nothing else (rip off).
