This is why they should have just done the Sony approach and release a Series X with and without a disc drive.

Release the disc Series X at $499 as it did.
Release the disc less Series X at $299

Same SKU except one has a disc and the other doesn't. This satisifies people who need their disc drives and getting a series x at $299 is an insane deal for new Xbox users and people who don't care about the disc drive which leads into more Gamepass sales.

I hope this isn't around the same time as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Burnout 3 Takedown is a classic everyone should own. Can be found for less than £5

Still can be purchased on Series consoles so not that big of a deal.

Being delisted forever or not being able to use your disc copy on your console would be worrisome.

COD on Gamepass is going to be lit.

Once locked into the Microsoft Store, sales will be less frequent and they can completely determine pricing.

Discs create competition. Can't be charging $60 for the MS Store version when the discs are going for $20.

Guess those games weren't included in the summer sale then. I got my first Xbox ever (Series S) in June so I am still building my library.

Any idea of when the summer sale will be?

Microsoft should have employed Sony's approach to this by releasing the Series X with a disc drive and one without the disc drive.

That way there is parity and since Microsoft can afford to take the hit on hardware knowing they will make their money back on Game Pass, sell the Series X Disc at $499 and the disc less version at $249 instead of $399.

This pushes people to go digital and thus locking them into the Game Pass ecosystem and possibly gets gamers from Nintendo / Sony to try out 4 generations of Xbox for $250. Those that still want their discs, can get the $499 as it is now.

Fantastic games = Great Sales

The fact the bug fixes and notes are this long for game that was released last year, just goes to show the rotten state the game released under.

This will inevitably show up on game pass but not at all surprised it was a critical and commercial failure

Just beat it. Plays great. Had no issues. Just bear in mind that you have to use a technique on the last mission to make it to the helicopter (guides on youtube how to do it)

The leaps between generations are only going to get smaller and smaller.

Doubt we will ever have that significant jump from PS2/Xbox to the HD era with the PS3/360 ever again.

Got my first xbox last month (Series S) Always wanted to play Gears of War and currently on the 2nd one and having good fun on it. My memories are still fresh

There is going to be an explosion of COD players once it officially gets added to Gamepass Ultimate soon.

Subscription Models are the Xbox way going forward so not at all surprising.

Gamepass Ultimate with the conversion 3:2 method and you don't need to buy a game for years.

Loved what I saw and once the reviews rolled in, got it immediately.

Agreed. Tried playing AC Odyssey and the grind to level up had me quit midway through. You can tell they are deliberately trying to get you to buy the time saver microtransaction.

I'm just patiently waiting for the Old COD games to be added to Gamepass.

For those that haven't already done so, might as well do the 3:2 Xbox Gold Conversion Method now so you have Ultimate locked in for the foreseeable future.

Agreed. COD4 was their Magnum Opus. The COD games between COD4 - Modern Warfare 3 were all pretty solid.
