I've been intrigued by this game for a while. It looks like it could be brilliant. I don't know much about what it's about, but I have a feeling that'll be the best way to approach it. Really looking forward to trying this out on Game Pass.
If it wasn't for Game Pass I wouldn't have played this. I have never clicked with turn-based combat, and even if reviews all said it was more accessible and a different sort of fighting (which they did) I wouldn't have believed it.
I didn't get close to 100% finishing it, but made it to the end of the main story, and absolutely loved it. It deserves all the accolades it gets.
@Medic_alert I agree. Both of these games absolutely deserve art nominations (and more in my opinion, but at least for art).
What's the date cut-off for releases? Just wondering if Keeper was released too late so I can figure out just how annoyed I am... Keeper was one of the most beautiful looking games I've ever played.
I started the campaign but only played for about 20mins. The other players beat me to unlocking the doors and it felt very passive. It also felt very buggy with ammo and other things floating off the ground.
I want to play the campaign solo and pause and stop when I like. Until I can do that I'm not going back to it.
I only play the CoD games (via Game Pass) to get some entertainment from the campaign. The fact it sounds harder single player and I can't pause it is ridiculous.
That removes the huge benefit of the awesome Quick Resume.
I had downloaded this to play, but I may not bother when there are so many games on Game Pass I want to try.
I downloaded Fortnite yesterday to try this. Is it just a battle royale in Springfield? I thought there might be some more Simpsons stuff, but I couldn't see it and as someone who's never played Fortnite before I found all the menus very confusing.
Having played and loved Keeper last week I've moved on to Ninja Gaiden 4. I've done 7 chapters and I'm already finding it getting a bit repetitive. But I am enjoying it for the most part.
I finished this today. It took about 6 hours. I can understand the reviews that comment on the lack of ease of "game". But it's an astonishing work of art, and the Lighthouse and Twig are incredible characters.
I'm going to spend a little time with Keeper. I've read nothing about it, no reviews or previews. I'm going in blind other than having seen a couple of trailers months ago. And I'm so looking forward to it.
I think the Elite 3 should wait until the next console. I got an Elite 2 shortly after getting my series X, and as this was my first Xbox I hadn't realised it wasn't designed with the Series consoles in mind.
It's only a little thing but I don't like there not being a share / screen capture button like on the standard controller. The Elite 3 shouldn't release before the next console if it'll be missing any button or feature that has.
@Vordus This was the sort of thing that made me quite on the first game. I may try this as it's on Game Pass but I can see me doing the same. I'm just not sure it's my sort of game.
The first game just didn't click for me. I may still give this a try on Game Pass. But I'm just glad that the developers are finally getting this into the hands of fans.
I can see why this isn't a game for everyone. But I thought it was excellent. Yes, it's not all that gamey at times but I really enjoyed my time with it. I am tempted to play it again, and I may do...but there's a lot of other games and things that compete for time.
I downloaded Robocop on Game Pass earlier in the week, and not sure it's my sort of game. Then downloaded Wuchang but haven't started it yet as I'm not really sure why I've downloaded it...souls likes aren't my thing either.
So with my limited time I'll likely just play a bit more Donkey Kong. A couple of issues aside I'm really enjoying it and it's just a whole lot of simple fun.
I may give this a try over the weekend. I downloaded My Friendly Neighborhood but after just half an hour or so I don't think it's for me. I might give it a bit more time, but could just move on to another game.
I'll definitely be playing this as soon as I can. I don't know anything about it really, but the trailer made it look like it could be just my sort of thing.
A bit of Mario Kart World on Switch 2. And I've been playing a bit on the (Xbox) Meta Quest 3S I got. I'll be honest I have been so impressed by it. I am slightly tempted to return it and get the non-S headset for higher resolution image... I'll probably stick with this one though as I'm not sure I need to spend more for the resolution
I posted a couple of hours ago saying I would resist. I failed. I was considering a little holiday in a couple of weeks and that's not happening, so I decided to splurge on this.
It has free returns so if I feel conned out of my money I'll send it back.
I've had my eye on this for Game Pass for a while, but I wasn't expecting it to review so well. I was almost hoping it wasn't (joke!) as I have so much to play already, but I may try this when I return to my Xbox after being able to spare some of my limited game time away from Mario Kart.
I thought it was great. Quite a lot for me to look forward to on Game Pass. To be honest a new Double Fine game and Planet of Lana 2 was enough to make me very happy, but there was a lot more I liked the look of.
I still have so much to play from Game Pass, but I fear Mario Kart World will be the only game I have time for for at least a few weeks after Thursday.
@Kaloudz I went exploring a bit in Act 3 and I think at least visited every place that didn't say "DANGER" on it. I also did the Gestral Beach challenges (but not the hardest difficulty on the one hitting back projectiles when on the raft, as that annoyed me). I did maybe a couple of optional bosses along the way but that felt enough.
I think that's one of the many reasons I loved the game. Because I didn't feel like I was missing out by not doing more. I could have done more but there's just too much to play...and life.
The only games there I've played are Doom (which I really enjoyed but was in no way interested in discovering all the secrets), and I'm partway through Kulebra now. The first couple of weeks of the month were spent playing the incredible E33.
@Kaloudz That's quite similar to me. I was just over level 60 I think when I finished the story, got maximum relationship statuses too. About 40 hours. And that felt enough for me. My max damage was about 257,000 once, but I didn't get above about 180,000 any other time.
I bought an Elite 2 a few years ago just after getting my Series X. And it's my main controller. I think it's great, and I really like mapping buttons to the paddles, but I honestly don't think I'd get an Elite 3 if it's as expensive (or likely more!).
I'm making progress in Doom. The Doom games aren't really my cup of tea but I'll admit I'm enjoying playing in the easiest mode, just running and gunning with very little chance of dying. It's lots of fun.
I finished Expedition 33 earlier this week. There were loads of boss fights that I wasn't strong enough to do, but I'm rarely a completionist on games and feel like I achieved what I wanted to. Played for about 40 hours and absolutely loved everything about it.
I'm not sure Doom will be my cup of tea but I'll give it a go.
I really don't have time for any more games outside of Game Pass. So of course I've pre-ordered one for launch day. 😀 I'm an absolute sucker for a new Mario Kart, and Nintendo will always get my money as long as there are new Mario Kart and mainline Mario games.
@FraserG Thanks. Always good to have more local multiplayer. GoW 1 is the only one I've actually got round to playing since I got an Xbox a few years ago, but may play it again co-op.

Re: Xbox Crowns Its Biggest Third-Party Game Pass Launch Of 2025
If it wasn't for Game Pass I wouldn't have played this. I have never clicked with turn-based combat, and even if reviews all said it was more accessible and a different sort of fighting (which they did) I wouldn't have believed it.

Re: Expedition 33 Wins GOTY As Xbox Takes Home Two Awards At The Golden Joysticks 2025
I'm very pleased E33 and DK did well here. My two favourite games in quite a while.
Re: Total Chaos Gets Its First Official Review Following Surprise Xbox Game Pass Launch
I thought this looked great and have downloaded it. Played for 3 minutes and remembered my nerves don't like survival horror 😀
If it gets a few positive reviews I may try it properly.
Re: Two Xbox Game Pass Titles Nominated For GOTY At The Game Awards, But Microsoft Misses Out
@Medic_alert Then in that case I shall continue to be very annoyed indeed.

Re: Fortnite's Simpsons Crossover Is A Success, So Isn't It Time For A Hit & Run Remake?
@Scummbuddy I think the shorts are also going on Disney+ so there's no need to play for that.
I'd hoped there would actually be some game with the Simpsons and not just in Springfield. Oh well.
Re: Fortnite's Simpsons Crossover Is A Success, So Isn't It Time For A Hit & Run Remake?
I downloaded Fortnite yesterday to try this. Is it just a battle royale in Springfield? I thought there might be some more Simpsons stuff, but I couldn't see it and as someone who's never played Fortnite before I found all the menus very confusing.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 1-2)
I've just finished chapter 12 I'm Ninja Gaiden 4. Still enjoying it but it's getting repetitive. I will finish the story.
Also playing Mario Galaxy on Switch 2.
And I finished a game called Ghost Town on my Meta Quest 3S. That was genuinely brilliant.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 25-26)
Having played and loved Keeper last week I've moved on to Ninja Gaiden 4. I've done 7 chapters and I'm already finding it getting a bit repetitive. But I am enjoying it for the most part.
Also playing Mario Galaxy on my Switch 2.

I absolutely adored it.

Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Team Unveils New Content For 'Major' Upcoming Xbox Update
Whilst I didn't 100% complete the game, it wasn't because I got bored with it. An absolute masterpiece.

Re: Roundup: All The Reveals From The Xbox Showcase At Tokyo Game Show 2025
Really disappointed. Nothing much appeals to me unfortunately. FH6 will be brilliant, but that wasn't even a proper reveal.
Did Microsoft not really hype this show up?
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Plans For Tokyo Game Show Next Week?
I'll be at work but will most likely watch it when I'm home, without having read anything during the day
Re: Six Games Are Confirmed For Xbox Game Pass In October 2025 So Far
Keeper is the one that most interests me. I may try Outer Worlds. I've never played the first one but can see myself giving 2 a try.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Has No Reviews Yet, So Here's What The Players Are Saying
@Vordus This was the sort of thing that made me quite on the first game. I may try this as it's on Game Pass but I can see me doing the same. I'm just not sure it's my sort of game.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Is Finally Heading To Xbox Game Pass This September
The first game just didn't click for me. I may still give this a try on Game Pass. But I'm just glad that the developers are finally getting this into the hands of fans.
Re: Bella Ramsey Leads The Cast In New Co-Op Chicken Run Game For Xbox
I didn't think the sequel was too bad, but it wasn't great and far from Aardman's usual standards.
If this finds its way to Game Pass and hasn't reviewed terribly I may check it out.
Re: Roundup: Here's What The PS5 Reviews Are Saying About Xbox's 'Hellblade 2 Enhanced'
I can see why this isn't a game for everyone. But I thought it was excellent. Yes, it's not all that gamey at times but I really enjoyed my time with it. I am tempted to play it again, and I may do...but there's a lot of other games and things that compete for time.
Re: Talking Point: Are You Still Hyped For Hollow Knight: Silksong On Xbox Game Pass?
Am I remembering wrong or was it not confirmed for 2025 at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2? Surely it'll come out on all platforms at the same time.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 26-27)
I downloaded Robocop on Game Pass earlier in the week, and not sure it's my sort of game. Then downloaded Wuchang but haven't started it yet as I'm not really sure why I've downloaded it...souls likes aren't my thing either.

@Fiendish-Beaver Thanks, you just saved me having to Google the "name of the guy from Heroes". 😀
Re: Talking Point: Are You Excited For Double Fine's Follow-Up To Psychonauts 2?
I'll definitely be playing this as soon as I can. I don't know anything about it really, but the trailer made it look like it could be just my sort of thing.
Re: 8BitDo's Official New Xbox Mobile Controller Includes Hall Effect Sticks & Triggers
That seems like quite a good price to me. Mobile Xbox gaming isn't really my sort of thing, but if there's a similar UK price it could be tempting.
Re: Marvel's Blade Seemingly Entered Full Production At Xbox In Late 2024
I don't think this should have been announced when it was. Announcing a game so many years in advance is ridiculous.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 28-29)

Re: ASUS Explains Why The ROG Xbox Ally Doesn't Have An OLED Screen
I think the screen on the Switch 2 is great, so if it's similar to that then I doubt this would be that much of an issue.
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox Games Showcase 2025?
I thought it was great. Quite a lot for me to look forward to on Game Pass. To be honest a new Double Fine game and Planet of Lana 2 was enough to make me very happy, but there was a lot more I liked the look of.
Re: Xbox Game Pass Is Being Treated To 'Planet Of Lana 2' In 2026
I absolutely ADORED the first game. This was one of my highlights of the Showcase.
Re: Xbox Is Officially Getting A Brand-New 'Plague Tale' Game In 2026
I've loved both of these games. Great story, wonderfully written and acted. Really hoping for a Game Pass release too.
Re: Eight Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass In Early June 2025
Dordogne is a short and very beautiful game. Well worth a look in my opinion.
Re: These 20+ Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (June 2-6)
I still have so much to play from Game Pass, but I fear Mario Kart World will be the only game I have time for for at least a few weeks after Thursday.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Feel You've Had Value For Money With Your Xbox Series X|S?
It's my first Xbox (series X). I was drawn to Game Pass. I don't regret it at all. I have been very happy indeed.

Re: Roundup: Revenge Of The Savage Planet Off To A Strong Start Ahead Of Xbox Game Pass Launch
I didn't really like the first game, but a third person view and split screen co-op means I'll likely give this a try.
