I'll be playing some Dungeons of Hinterberg. I honestly didn't really know to expect before starting it a few days ago. I've done about 6 dungeons so far and it's brilliant.
I think the most fun I've had with a game in the past couple of years was playing It Takes Two with my brother. He doesn't have much time for gaming, and I'm not that much better, but sitting in person and playing for an hour or two a week was brilliant. And it wouldn't have been the same online. The fact the game is also excellent obviously helped.
We then played A Way Out which, whilst not quite as good, was also a really fun co-op. I wish there were more games like these.
@AM2fl4m3 Yeah, it gets crazy tricky towards the end. I was so pleased to figure it all out! It's worth going back to if you can, especially if it is announced as leaving Game Pass soon.
@Old_Man_Harper I'm partway through playing this. I like the gentle exploration. I don't like attacks by fabric men as much. 😀 But I'm enjoying it for the most part.
I got an Elite 2 in customised colours and that's my controller of choice. I do wish it had a screenshot/share button but I can make others screenshot with a shift button. And that's not a negative of the Design Lab but the Elite 2 in general.
I played it for a couple of hours, but that's probably it. It's just not my sort of game. Decided to give Tchia a try and I'm really enjoying that after a few hours. Really pretty game, and quite calm to just walk around and explore.
I played this quite a bit and bought both of the main expansions but unfortunately due to limited time to play games and so much on Game Pass I haven't played in some time now. It was my first FH game and I really enjoyed my time with it
@TheOldHunter4K Yep, that's what I got (£103.96). And my current subscription was ending in September. So I've now not got to think about any price until September of next year
I know there are tricks and gaining Microsoft points from Bing etc but they seem like more effort than I'm personally willing to do, as I am happy to pay as I think it's still good value.
I do like a bargain though, so did just try CD Keys yesterday and bought 4x3 month codes for £104, so that gives me a whole year before I'll have to pay more. I was very happy with that.
I will be playing Shattered Space because I bought the premium edition, but with so many games coming next year I'm not sure I'll end up paying more for another expansion.
This is what I was hoping for. I have nothing against payment for a premium package. I paid for the Horizon 5 DLC and Starfield. But having the base game included and not increasing the price (for now anyway) is what I wanted.
@BIG3 I pretty much entirely agree. I thought the combat was lacking a bit with its simple controls, but it was way more intense that the combat in the first game and every time and enemy charged in and rugby tackled Senua I was hooked. Puzzles, again, may not be the greatest in video games, but more variety and interest than the first game.
I didn't realise you could toggle on run, so I just held the button most of the time. I have an Elite controller so mapped the button to a paddle and didn't mind holding it.
I've just finished Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order (I hadn't played it and want to play Survivor), and with a few days until Senua's Saga I didn't want to start something new.
So I loaded up Starfield, went to a temple and instantly remembered how much I hated those temples. I don't want to start a new game+ in it, and there's not a lot drawinge back in until the expansion is out.
I don't really understand the 'pre-install' of Game Pass games. It's like 300megabytes, and once the game is out you still have to wait for the whole thing to download. If the game is massive and your internet is quite slow (like mine) then you're often waiting 24hrs from release to play.
@dskatter I've had my series X for a few years. My first Xbox too. I have Game Pass and have played a fair few games. I even bought Starfield. But totally agree, hi-fi rush gave me more enjoyment than these other games. Such a shame.
I currently can't download it, but can only add it to play later. And my slooooow internet will take ages to download it. Not to worry, I'll download it overnight tomorrow and just start on Wednesday.
I have been looking forward to this for a while, and I really want to go in knowing as little as possible. So I'm going to hold off reading or watching the review. But I'm glad you've given it a good score. This looks just like my sort of game, and with Game Pass is absolutely worth trying.
I quite like it. And the few games I've played it on have felt fine in 30fps (or whatever it may be). I've just finished Control and seeing your reflection in the windows, amongst other things, just made it seem like a more real building to me.
I tend to play around with it on and off and see which I prefer. But I do often then have it on.
I have a few big games on my series X that take up loads of space. I've not (yet?) got an expansion card. But to be honest I could probably delete the big games as I don't play them anymore. Forza Horizon 5 is awesome but I don't have time to keep playing with newer games and it's absolutely enormous now.
I'm enjoying it a lot. I have put on single hit kills and invincibiilty on parts I thought were too tricky as I just want to enjoy the story. And I love that I can do that.
I don't know whether ray tracing or 60fps is better but I like the ray tracing effects so have been playing with that on.
I enjoyed this briefly but I then found combat a bit off and struggled the know where to go next. If this is likely to improve that I might start it again.
@gollumb82 Definitely not the only one. I've also just seen your other comment about soulslikes, and I share those thoughts too! There must be more of us around... 😬
I was playing a bit of Dead Island 2, but I'm beginning to find the difficulty spikes too much for my personal taste. I'm on to the second big boss (who I will call the Goo Monster on the film site) and it's just starting to annoy me.
I've been mostly enjoying it but unfortunately think I've reached as far as I'll get.
I'm increasingly finding my patience is less than it used to be...
It starts becoming like TV subscription services after a point, in that there would just be no time to play what you're paying extra for.
I love Game Pass but cancelled my subscription for a couple of months when I bought Starfield and Mario Wonder, as there just wasn't time to go to work and play more than this. I've got it back now.
@Kaloudz I've played maybe a couple of hours, and I think I'm done. It's already a very good game but my nerves can't cope with this sort of thing anymore! Shame, but I'm not going to push on with something I can't enjoy. Thanks for the recommendation though.
@Echtzeit exactly my thought. If you're going to bother limiting how many can be bought make it, oh I don't know, one. Two at a push, but one to really limit this practice.
A limit of 4 per customer? Why would anyone want 4 copies other than to sell at an inflated price once sold out? Maybe I'm missing something though, and buying 4 games is a perfectly rational thing to do...
I'll probably give both of these a go. I've just started Dead Space though, and I can't cope with survival horrors the way I used to! So maybe something calmer when I've finished that. 😀
I've voted 2026. Could possibly be towards the end of 2025 but somehow I think it'll be a few more years yet. FH5 was my first FH game so I didn't notice sameyness, but I'll happily wait longer of it means FH6 will be more different.

Cocoon is absolutely brilliant. Not a long game either, so totally worth attention for everyone who hasn't played it yet.
Re: Another Title Has Been Confirmed For Xbox Game Pass This August
I've never played any Mafia games, so this feels like something I'll definitely try out. Time and backlog permitting...

Re: Double Fine's Incredible 'PsychOdyssey' Documentary Is Getting A Blu-Ray Release

Re: Xbox Is Adding The Ability To 'Pre-Download' Game Updates Before They're Released
@Sifi Interesting. I'll bear that in mind, thanks. The full game is now showing to pre-install on the console, so I've done that.
Re: Xbox Is Adding The Ability To 'Pre-Download' Game Updates Before They're Released
@TheGiraffe I must have been. I had a look for Senua's Saga and it's the same. Pointless unless I can pre-install the whole game.

So sad. Rescue Me was an outstanding series, and one that I feel largely went under the radar in the UK.
