Re: PSA: Don't Forget, There Are Ways To Save Money On Xbox Game Pass

LaurenceJ1987

I know there are tricks and gaining Microsoft points from Bing etc but they seem like more effort than I'm personally willing to do, as I am happy to pay as I think it's still good value.

I do like a bargain though, so did just try CD Keys yesterday and bought 4x3 month codes for £104, so that gives me a whole year before I'll have to pay more. I was very happy with that.

@BIG3 I pretty much entirely agree. I thought the combat was lacking a bit with its simple controls, but it was way more intense that the combat in the first game and every time and enemy charged in and rugby tackled Senua I was hooked. Puzzles, again, may not be the greatest in video games, but more variety and interest than the first game.

I didn't realise you could toggle on run, so I just held the button most of the time. I have an Elite controller so mapped the button to a paddle and didn't mind holding it.

I've just finished Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order (I hadn't played it and want to play Survivor), and with a few days until Senua's Saga I didn't want to start something new.

So I loaded up Starfield, went to a temple and instantly remembered how much I hated those temples. I don't want to start a new game+ in it, and there's not a lot drawinge back in until the expansion is out.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of 'Control' On Xbox Game Pass?

LaurenceJ1987

I'm enjoying it a lot. I have put on single hit kills and invincibiilty on parts I thought were too tricky as I just want to enjoy the story. And I love that I can do that.

I don't know whether ray tracing or 60fps is better but I like the ray tracing effects so have been playing with that on.

I was playing a bit of Dead Island 2, but I'm beginning to find the difficulty spikes too much for my personal taste. I'm on to the second big boss (who I will call the Goo Monster on the film site) and it's just starting to annoy me.

I've been mostly enjoying it but unfortunately think I've reached as far as I'll get.

I'm increasingly finding my patience is less than it used to be...

@all3forever 260 times? Ican't tell if you're exaggerating... I didn't even get them all once as I got so frustrated floating around. The first time I thought 'this is quite cool'. After about 10 goes I thought never again. I really enjoyed my 90hrs with the game, but this became an unnecessary chore (the whole process of finding the powers, to be honest)

Re: Talking Point: Where Does Starfield Rank In Your Top Games Of 2023?

LaurenceJ1987

@Moonglow I agree that the choice to do what you want is what's good. I never like building and customisation tools. 40-odd hours in and I've not even looked at ship or outpost building (and I've also stuck with guns I've found or been given).

It might mean I miss out on some things but I get to play the game in a way I enjoy.

I think it's great everyone can play to their own style.

Starfield. I've played for 42 hours so far, and barely touched the main story. I keep wanting to just progress with that for a few hours and get sidetracked. I haven't even explored all that much. I've been doing other missions. I think I've just finished the main UC story (not totally sure) so now might be a chance to do some of the main story. 😀
