I think if you like Xbox you dont want this to happen. Best you can hope for is a few exclusives here and there, but to go all in I think would eventually kill the Xbox brand. Like others have said the devs are going to be the ones that suffer from this. When these games severely underperform they'll get axed.

@HonestHick I dont know how old you are, but ive been gaming since the 90s, and ive seen this dog and pony show more than once. These two companies (Sony and MS) go back and forth with this "we're your friend" campaign. Soon as one is down all of a sudden we're family and they're bending over backwards to listen to the fans. Were you not around for the Xbox One launch? Its just a matter of time if Xbox is able to survive and get back on top that they are right back to that version of themselves. Ive seen it too many times. I dont by any of the bullsh#t she is saying. Trust me they're having very different conversations behind close doors than what you see Asha saying on social media.

@FraserG I completely feel you on the classic games. I find myself playing more and more of them nowadays over newer releases. Their is something comforting about them. I always get excited when I see a new retro collection announced, lol.

I'll never believe another announcement at an Xbox showcase again. There were so many lies in that last showcase. Most of the games announced were advertisements to try and sell those studios, and if not just close them like they're doing with Ninja Theory.

This game looks cool. I was on my PS5 and spotted this and wishlist it immediately.

Id try to repair it or go back to older consoles. Ive been playing the older generation consoles more recently anyways.

I think console sales are going to go off a cliff for this next generation. The diminishing returns every generation becomes more and more as time goes on. Games cant look any better than they do now, and people i think are satisfied being right where they're at now.

MS is such a disgusting company. To buy up all these studios and not have a contingency plan if there stupid GP idea failed is so short sighted and ignorant.

Its terrifying to think of where gaming will be in 10 years. I'll probably ride my launch console until it cant be repaired anymore. Even then i think i might go in reverse, and start to play my old consoles with the backlog ive amassed over the years.

The prices of next gen consoles are going to be laughable.

So now they're lying to the fans about what games are actually coming just to try and sell a studio. Sad

This company always sounds like it is so mismanaged. They need to hire the people who are running Atari now. They know how to turn a company around.

Not gonna lie, this kind of has my attention. Good use of the IP.

I dont spend much time on Xbox anymore, but the badges for the gamer score is a cool update.

The only reason MS and Asha are pushing the "recommitting to the fans" act is because they're in a marketing push for Project Helix. If that console wasnt coming you wouldn't hear any of this.

This is all a marketing ploy to drum up excitement before Project Helix releases. Nothing more, nothing less. The people that hang on these executives words are sad. I dont believe anything MS or Sony says. When they do speak its just to get you to buy something. If Project Helix doesnt sell well they will go right back to how that were...I promise you.

Plus on top of that GP kills any notion of this happening. Games will just never sell enough if they're exclusive.

I bet you they lost so many ultimate subs with the price increase that this was the only viable way to try and build that level back up, and removing COD kind of offsets it. Wouldn't be surprised if it goes back up in the future.

It wont matter what they do at this point. If they go back to exclusives there sales are killed by GP. It will make the die hearts happy, but will kill the brand. I say this because very little people are going to leave whatever platform they're currently on because they have amassed massive libraries of games. The console wars are over and Xbox will need to find a new strategy. Maybe cancel GP all together and go back to making there fanbase pay for there games. 🤷‍♂️

It wont matter either way in this digital world Sony/MS wanted. I come from the physical era and yes every new console i carefully considered which one I'd buy off of what they offered. Because most people left there old consoles and games behind and you started anew. Nowadays thats not the case. People have their huge libraries and there not going anywhere. So MS can make whatever they want exclusive, but its a moot point.

If they do go this route you'll see poor sales of these games (especially if they're on GP) and then more layoffs and studio closures because of it, and MS citing "poor economic situations" as the excuse.

This isn't about the fans. This is about revenue dropping since the price hikes.

I guess this studio will just never do anything but these games. 🤷‍♂️
