Surprise! Microsoft has just announced that a new Xbox showcase will air later this week - focusing solely on 'Metro 2039' in a similar vein to the team's upcoming Stranger Than Heaven event.
This one is being called 'Xbox First Look' though; where developer 4A Games will be revealing its brand-new Metro game during the show. It all takes place at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST on Thursday, April 16th, and here's how Microsoft describes the event:
"This Thursday, April 16, we’ll be debuting Xbox First Look: Metro 2039 with 4A Games & Deep Silver – a digital-only broadcast offering a world-premiere look at the next title in the beloved post-apocalyptic first-person shooter series."
4A Games' last Metro game released all the way back in February 2019, so it's safe to say that the Ukrainian developer has been hard at work on 2039 for some time now. The last time we heard about the project, 4A said that we were "in for quite the ride" when it eventually launches.
