Re: Microsoft Refers To Lack Of Xbox Exclusives As Why ActiBlizz Deal Should Be Approved

@uptownsoul You're absolutely right. But concentration cannot be stopped now. The gaming industry is highly profitable, but also require massive investments. Buyouts will also happen from the outside, with GAFAs waiting for the right opportunity.

And giant publishers are more fragile than people realize. Another THQ-sized collapse can and probably will happen in the decade.

Re: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's Free Xbox Series X|S Upgrade Is Out Now

@Senua What we have seen last time of Halo Infinite is certainly not "state of the art" in visual fidelity. (I'm still hopping it's gonna be upgraded). Plus, it's is also still planned for Xbox One. So it will be scary if it can't manage 4k60 on SX, but even there I still suspect dynamic resolution will be in the picture.

As for the others, we haven't seen them.

This is the same situation with the competition. Look as how the "groundbreaking" Ratchet & Clank can't handle both.

Re: Turns Out The Xbox Series S Is Really Good At Playing PS2 Games

@KelticDevil Certainty not saying I like it. Just stating it's how Sony is "doing" retrocompatibility. Kinda the same policy that Nintendo actually. Being dominant in the market for now, they can clearly get away with such practice.

We like Microsoft for doing the nice thing, but never forget it's the dramatic failure of XBOne that pushed there. Were the market share inverted, we certainly won't have any of that.

@ThanosReXXX But your premise is wrong. Sony is going for the pie, but for the fattest parts (subscriptions to PsNow, remasters and possible single games sold separately and emulated, PS3/nintendo style).

Offering full on retrocompatibility with just the disk bring no money, as the games themselves are no longer sold. And its absence has yet to prove detrimental (it doesn't for now).

Re: Retailer Cancels Xbox Series X Orders From Scalper Group Due To Error

@Fath Making the behaviour illegal is impossible without large side effects. What do you forbid exactly ? Forbid selling higher than MSRP would destroy collectors market. Forbidding resale entirely and you have killed the used market.

Freedom is freedom for all, not for when it's convenient. The only good answer to the situation is to stop supporting companies that do fake paper launch for marketing reasons instead of when supplies are actually ready.
