Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Series X has the capability of recording and streaming gameplay at 4K visuals and 60 frames per-second, which is an upgrade over the 4K, 30fps on Xbox One X.
As first reported by Polygon, Microsoft revealed this information via a media-only fact sheet this week, although this feature was suggested as being available exclusively on the Xbox Series X (which makes sense due to the lack of native 4K on the Xbox Series S), with no further details shared on the lesser-powered Series S console for now.
And of course, all of this will be made even easier due to the new controller's Share button, which will provide quick access to capture-related features on Microsoft's next-generation systems.
Will you be making use of recording and streaming features on the Series X? Let us know in the comments.

The custom multimedia chip shown in the Hotchips enables to do this. The video encoder/decoder also has support for 4K and 8K AVC and HEVC/VP9 decoding, with AVC (H.264) and HEVC (H.265) encoding support. This feature was also shown during the new Xcloud server blade based on Series X earlier this year, more capable than all processing power of previous gen combined.
I guess Series S should also share similar feature as it’s told to have a custom processor for upscaling in the official video.
4k60fps capture ? Ain't gonna have enough room in that SSD.
@Kamalen Most streamers will prefer to upload it on cloud/local NAS or to an attached HDD.
@Bami Maybe you are one of those peabrain butthurt regular haters that come here to showcase their vast in-depth knowledge but sorry to break it to you, it doesn’t need to use any GPU power as it makes use of the separate custom H/W accelerator chip shown here.
@Z3u5000 Xbox OS supports NAS saving for video ? Would be of good help but cannot find the option

The troll that you responded to is on my ignore list, but I don’t recognize his name. Which means I ignored that troll prior & they have changed their name on here since.
Sad little people out there these days. 😂🙄
